The President of Souphanouvong University, Luang Prabang Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr Khamphay Sisavanh has been promoted to be the new Deputy Minister of Education and Sports.
The official announcement of the new deputy minister was held at the National Institute of Science Research last week.
The announcement ceremony was chaired by Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun in the presence of high ranking officials.
Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs Sengdeuane spoke at the appointment of the new deputy minister saying that the new appointment was made based on a decisionby the Party Central Committee and resulted from Dr Khamphay’s proven track record of excellence.
“Associate Professor Dr Khamphay has shown his dedication to developing the education and sports sector over the past decade in addition to the work he has done at the university. These have been great contributions to human resource development,” she said highlighting Associate Professor Dr Khamphay’s exceptional performance.
As a result of his past performance, as well as the support he has from the general public and government, he has been promoted and appointed to the new position of Deputy Minister of Education and Sports.
Line ministries are in full swing reshuffling their organisations and staff.
