Bolikhamxay Police Arrests Two Women for Producing, Selling Drug-Laced Collagen, Coffee

On 23 September, police in Khamkeut District, Bolikhamxay Province, arrested two women for possessing and producing various types of drugs, including drug-laced collagen and coffee products.

According to a report from the Khamkeut District Public Security Department published on 10 October, the operation was launched after authorities received information regarding suspected drug trafficking activities in the area. Police conducted an investigation, gathered evidence, and moved in to apprehend the suspects.

The two women were identified as Khouan Kosy, 48 years old, and Namthip Kosy, 21, both residents of Phonhong village, Khamkeut district, Bolikhamxay.

During the search, police confiscated 10 kilograms of Kratom leaves, 1,047 boxes of cough medicine, two collagen sachet-filling machines, three drug-mixing grinders, 29 packets of drug-laced coffee, 139 packets of collagen, 43 kilograms of drug-laced coffee, empty collagen packaging, two handguns, 56 handgun bullets, and one AK bullet.

Authorities stated that the suspects confessed to owning the Kratom leaves and cough medicine, which they had been selling. However, they claimed that the collagen-filling machines, grinders, drug-laced coffee, and firearms belonged to a friend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the operation, the suspects attempted to flee their residence. Police later searched the premises and discovered additional items, including two small bottles of Kratom, one electronic cigarette, one small balloon (laughing gas), and a silver-plated Vigo pickup truck.

The Khamkeut District Police are continuing the investigation, collecting further evidence, and tracking down another suspect.

The case file remains under review at the Khamkeut District Police Station and will proceed according to Lao legal procedures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Under Article 315 of the Lao Penal Code, the production, possession, or sale of narcotic substances such as Kratom, methamphetamine, or amphetamine carries severe penalties, ranging from lengthy imprisonment to the death penalty, depending on the quantity involved.
