Sixty-five small and large domestic and foreign companies operating business in the Lao PDR have been awarded 40 Years Excellence Awards and ASEAN Business Awards 2016.
The announcement of the winners was made at the ASEAN Business Awards Lao PDR (ABAL) 2016 event hosted in Vientiane on July 27 by the Lao National Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Of the total, forty-six companies won 40 Years Excellence Awards, while 19 companies were awarded ASEAN Business Awards 2016 in the presence of Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, government officials, businessmen and representatives of relevant sectors.
The 40 Years Excellence Awards were presented to the awardees by Minister of Industry and Commerce Khemmany Pholsena, and ASEAN Business Awards 2016 were presented by President of the Lao National Chamber of Industry and Commerce Oudet Souvannavong.
ABAL 2016 winners will be then sent to an ASEAN regional event where they will compete against some of the most well-known firms in Southeast Asia.
The objective of ABAL 2016 was not only to recognize the noticeable contribution of the local companies to the development in the Lao PDR over the past 40 years, but also to the growth and prosperity of the ASEAN Community.
Launched in 2007 by ASEAN Business Advisory Council, ASEAN Business Awards is available to all members of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
