The statement is as follows:

The Lao PDR welcomes the successful outcome of the historic Summit between the Leaders of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States of America (USA) on 12 June 2018.

The Lao PDR views that the outcome of the Summit will be a significant milestone for the relationship between the two countries, which will in turn contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability on the Peninsula and the world as well as the denuclearization of the Peninsula.

The Lao PDR firmly hopes that all parties concerned will continue to exert their joint efforts to further strengthen this positive momentum in order to further carry on seeking constructive solutions for the  Korean Peninsula issue.

The Lao PDR reiterates its consistent support for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula by peaceful means, as well as for peace, stability and development cooperation on the Korean Peninsula, in the region and the world at large.
