Laos Establishes Diplomatic Ties with Panama

Laos has formally established diplomatic ties with the Central American nation of Panama.

KPL reports that the signing of a Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Republic of Panama took place at the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations in New York, USA on 9 September.

Ambassador Anouparb Vongnorkeo, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to the United Nations represented Laos, while Ambassador Markova Concepcion Jaramillo, Permanent Representative of Panama to the United Nations, represented the Panama side.

The two countries made a joint decision to establish diplomatic relations in 2019, however, the signing ceremony was delayed.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Panama demonstrates the foreign policy of Laos aimed at promoting friendly and peaceful relations and cooperation with all countries worldwide.
