Bodies of Two Men Discovered Buried in Vientiane Forest

The unidentified bodies of two men were discovered buried in a forested area on the outskirts of Vientiane Capital.

According to a report by Lao Security News, the bodies were discovered by residents foraging for bamboo shoots in Mai Village, Sikhottabong District.

Police were called to the scene where the bodies of the two men had been discovered buried underground.

Residents said they noticed legs sticking out of the ground and promptly called local authorities to investigate, according to police.

Police say the victims appear to have been attacked, with slash wounds found on their bodies.

The remains have been transported to the morgue at Mahosot Hospital while authorities attempt to identify them.

Police have urged anyone with information that could help identify the victims or the perpetrators to come forward as they continue their investigation.
