The first EV fast-charging station will be installed by Loca in June 2022.
The capital, Vientiane, will be the first location, with expansion to other provinces based on Road No. 13, which is already the main road connecting the provinces.
The Loca EV fast-charging station will be DC fast chargers that can fully charge an EV in 20 to 50 minutes (depends on the cars) using the station’s 120KW power. The Loca EV charger will come with two charging standards, GB/T and CCS 2, that can be used with EVs are ASEAN standard, Chinese EVs, and European EVs.
Loca plans to build 12 EV charging stations in 2022, each with two chargers that can power up to four cars simultaneously. In 2023, Loca will expand to 25 stations, towards a goal of 40 stations across Laos by 2025.
Each province’s stations are strategically placed so that you can travel from north to south without worrying about your car’s battery running low and see the Loca Charging station along the way.
Vientiane Capital will have four stations and Vang Vieng-Paksan-Khammouan(KM20)-Thakhek-Seno-Savan Itecc-Salavan-Pakse will have one station each in 2022
Loca has received a permit certificate from the Ministry of Energy and Mining to provide services and install EV charging stations for the operation. As a result, a Loca EV Charger has been thoroughly tested for charging and is ready to provide clean power throughout Laos.
The application “Loca” will make it simple for you to use the Loca EV charging station. You can pay for the car charging fee, see the percentage of charging, and see a map of the station’s location so you don’t forget to stop by when you’re on the road. Please stay tuned for more information, which will be announced soon.
