The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology predicts that Laos will experience cooler temperatures for two days before the weather gets warmer for the rest of the week. A high-pressure system will bring in cold air, causing rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in certain areas as well.
The northeast region, including Phongsaly, Houaphanh, and Xieng Khouang provinces, will experience cold weather for two days with temperatures ranging between 16-18 degrees at night and 30-32 degrees during the day. Some areas might experience slight fog, rain, and hail. From Thursday onward, residents in this area can expect rising temperatures accompanied by light rain.
The northwest region will a higher temperatures throughout the week with an average of 20-23 degrees at night and 37-40 degrees during the day from Thursday to Sunday. Light rain is expected in the region as well.
Central Laos will experience extremely hot weather throughout the week but still receive some rain and strong wind. Nighttime temperatures will be around 22-25 degrees, and the daytime high can reach up to 39 degrees.
Xaysomboun province will see chilly weather with thin fog in the morning; some areas may experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds. Minimum temperatures would be around 15-17 degrees and could rise to 25-29 degrees during the day.
Southern Laos will experience intense heat, and maximum temperatures would be 37-40 degrees, but residents can expect light rain and strong winds in the region as well.
Vientiane Capital will have cooler nights with a temperature of 23-25 degrees but will get increasingly hot during the day with temperatures ranging between 36-39 degrees.
Bolaven plateau will remain cooler than most of the country, with temperatures hovering between 16-18 degrees at night and 26-28 degrees during the day.
