Police in Laos have issued a statement regarding the shooting of 25-year-old Anousa “Jack” Luangsuphom at a cafe in Vientiane Capital.

According to an official statement released to the media, police say their initial belief is that the shooting may have been connected to a business dispute or a quarrel over a lover.

Col. Oubon Chounlamany, Deputy Head of the Vientiane Police Headquarters, said that the shooting was reported to authorities around 11 pm on 29 April in Chanthabouly District, Vientiane Capital.

Colonel. Oubon Chounlamany, Vientiane Police Headquarters, reported the shooting incident.

Emergency services soon reached the scene of the crime and Jack was sent to the hospital as he had suffered serious injuries due to gunshot wounds, according to Colonel. Oubon.

Authorities say they have continued to investigate the case and are collecting evidence to locate the perpetrator, while Jack is not yet able to provide a full statement while in hospital.

The 25-year-old man was reported alive after he was thought to have died when a gunman opened fire at him in a Vientiane cafe on Saturday. He was shot twice – in the face and in the side – with an exit wound through his chest.
