A Lao national was killed in an accident on Tuesday following his vehicle’s collision with a truck in the province of Udon Thani, Thailand.
UdonDaily reports that Thai police officers from a Highway Police Rescue team discovered the body of 49-year-old Vannakone Boulummavong, a resident of Vientiane’s Saysettha District, after his vehicle collided with a truck.
The man traveled alone from Laos to Udon Thani, Thailand, and hit a truck at a traffic stop in Non-Sa-at District.
Police officers and the rescue team spent about 15 to 20 minutes moving the victim from the vehicle and transferring him to the district hospital where he passed away.
According to witnesses, the driver from Laos dozed off while driving and collided with the truck at a traffic signal.
The driver’s relatives and close contacts received his body from Thailand and performed his last rites at a religious ceremony.
