The grand opening of the Seno rest stop station in November 2025 marked the first phase of BlueDot’s expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Laos. Building on that milestone, the company has announced a vision aimed at reshaping nationwide travel and logistics through a connected green transport network.
Currently, BlueDot operates more than 50 charging stations nationwide, with the highest number of charging connectors in the country. The company plans to expand to 100 stations in the near future to support Laos’s transition from a land-locked country to an “EV Land-Linked” transport hub.
By the end of 2026, BlueDot aims to extend coverage across northern routes and establish a “Border to Border” charging network linking all major directions. The initiative is intended to support Laos’s transition from a land-locked country to an “EV Land-Linked” hub, serving tourists traveling across all 18 provinces as well as logistics providers moving goods across borders, while reducing concerns over vehicle range.
The expansion is also expected to benefit the logistics and transport sectors. According to BlueDot data, switching from diesel to electric trucks can reduce energy costs by more than ten times, while significantly lowering maintenance expenses. A continuous charging network from north to south is viewed as a key factor in helping small and medium-sized enterprises and local entrepreneurs reduce operating costs and improve profitability.
Under the slogan “Bridging Your Home to Your Holiday,” BlueDot is placing chargers at locations aligned with travel, lifestyle, and tourism needs. Ultra-fast chargers ranging from 120 kW to 400 kW are being installed at gas stations, including PTT stations, and major highway points to enable faster turnarounds for long-distance travel. In addition, 40 kW chargers are being deployed at shops, restaurants, and hotels, to support lifestyle and tourism activities, allowing vehicles to recharge while users rest or travel.
BlueDot stated that the development supports the growth of clean, affordable, and modern transportation in Laos, positioning EV infrastructure as part of a broader shift toward sustainable and cost-effective mobility for both individuals and businesses.
