This Week

Samsung Electronics Laos has unveiled the new Galaxy S26 series, introducing what it describes as its most advanced Galaxy AI smartphone lineup to date. The launch signals Samsung’s push deeper into AI-powered mobile technology, combining upgraded hardware with its third-generation Galaxy AI system.

The Galaxy S26 series includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The S26 Ultra features built-in Privacy Display technology designed to limit side-angle viewing while maintaining screen clarity.

The device runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, supporting faster AI processing, improved cooling, and Super Fast Charging 3.0, which can charge the battery to 75 percent in 30 minutes.

Samsung has also upgraded its Nightography Video and Super Steady features to improve low-light video performance. The series supports a new APV video codec and includes AI-powered editing tools such as Photo Assist and Creative Studio, allowing users to create and refine content more efficiently.

New AI features include Now Nudge and Now Brief, which integrate with Bixby, Perplexity, and Gemini to manage schedules and daily tasks. Circle to Search with Google now supports multi-item recognition, and Samsung is offering up to seven years of security updates for the devices.

Pre-orders run until 10 March. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at LAK 33,999,000 (approximately USD 1,600) and includes a complimentary 45W charger. The Galaxy S26+ is available at LAK 23,999,000 (approximately USD 1,130), and the Galaxy S26 at LAK 19,999,000 (approximately USD 940), both including chargers. All models come with a Best Telecom 5G SIM card with 26GB of data.
