A charity orchestra concert in Vientiane will showcase 10 Lao heritage songs reimagined and rearranged by composer Alounyaded Ladsahody.
“A Symphony of Heritage” will feature a cinematic orchestral performance of the songs, bringing traditional Lao musical heritage into a contemporary concert setting.
Swiss violinist Mathias Boegner will join the performance as a special guest. Boegner has performed as a solo violinist at venues including Carnegie Hall and has taught at the China Conservatory of Music and the National University of the Arts in Taiwan. He previously served as concertmaster of the Shanghai Broadcast Symphony Orchestra and principal viola of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with tickets now available online.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support the renovation of music rehearsal rooms and the purchase of musical instruments for the National School of Arts.
The concert is supported by Swiss Cooperation Mekong, Lao Bullion Bank, Namkhong Beer, Lao Telecom and TK Group.
