On 30 April, Vietnam’s national holiday of Reunification Day, a glass bridge spanning more than 630 meters will open to tourists.
At 200 meters longer than the 430-meter glass bridge in China’s Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, this Vietnamese bridge will be the longest of its kind in the world.
The bridge, called Bach Long, is located about 200 kilometers from Hanoi in the mountainous Moc Chau Island Tourist Area of Son La Province.
The bridge sits about 150 meters above ground and is composed of three layers of super tempered French glass and a South Korean cable system,
The opening of the bridge is forecast to be a highlight for tourism in the province, but only 500 people will be admitted on the bridge at a time for safety.
Photos and videos of the bridge have already gone viral on social media, and officials have submitted the bridge’s length to the Guinness World Records authority.
