Lao Sprinter Wins Gold Medal at Thailand Open 2022

The Lao long-distance runner, Ms. Lodkeo Inthakoumman won a gold medal on Monday in the Thailand Open 2022 which was held in Pathum Thani province.

Ms. Lodkeo completed the 1500-meter female category run in 4 minutes and 43 seconds, which won her a gold medal in the competition.

A Thai athlete was placed second by finishing the run in 4 minutes and 54 seconds, and a runner from Myanmar came third after crossing the finish line in five minutes.

This victory allowed the Lao gold medalist to compete in an 800-meter running tournament on Tuesday, where she was placed fifth out of six competitors.

Two Lao male athletes, Mr. Anouson Saisa and Mr. Kongkham Kueapmeavong participated in sprint hurdles on Thursday whose results haven’t been announced yet.

This year marks the 67th edition of the Thailand Open competition. The event is taking place from 28 November to December 3 at the National Athletics Center of the Athletics Association of Thailand in Pathum Thani Province.
