An athlete from Laos has been awarded a bronze medal after the competition of Para Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
35-year-old Latsami Sipaseuth from Vientiane Capital won the bronze medal in the Woman’s Up to 41 kilograms.
Lakshmi lifted 73 kilograms and ranked 4th in the program with her best score of 73 kilograms and a total of 141 kilograms, placing third in Para Powerlifting World Cup 2022.
Lara Aparecida de Lima of Brazil was awarded the gold medal with a total score of 193, Hellen Wawira Kariuki of Kenya won the silver medal with a score of 192, and Christina Pobador Granados received the bronze medal with her best score of 94.
The bronze medalist traveled to participate in the competition in early December competition and received one bronze medal for Laos.
Lakshmi was welcomed at Wattay International Airport with coaches and government officials on 18 November.
In August of this year, the weightlifter won the silver medal in Women’s Under 50 kilograms at the ASEAN Para Games with a total score of 140.
