Job Description of Marketing Manager
Reporting Relationship:
The Marketing Manager will report directly to the Accounts Director or as otherwise directed.
Job Overview
The Accounts Manager’s job is to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The account manager oversees a portfolio of assigned customers, develops new business from existing clients, and actively seeks out new sales opportunities. Account management responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and preparing sales reports. The account managers also answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers. Ultimately, a successful account manager should collaborate with our sales team to achieve quotas while keeping our clients satisfied and engaged with our services in the long run.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages day-to-day operations of his/her respective team
- Strategizes, coordinates, and oversees marketing strategies and activities, to ensure the successful delivery of marketing campaigns for the account of the customers, through but not limited to: research, social media management, public relations, events, etc., and the development of creative collaterals (including imagery and videography, copywriting)
- Manages and optimizes the budget for client account
- Measures and analyzes the Key Performance Indicators and Prepares internal and external reporting
- Negotiates contracts and fees with suppliers, such as media outlets, photographers/videographers, printing companies, event organizers, etc.
- Forecasts and tracks key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
- Prepare progress/performance for client account (weekly, monthly, mid-term, final)
- Builds and maintains relationships with prospects and the business community
- Builds and maintains relationships with media outlets, influencers, and suppliers
- Acts as representative of the company at public functions and events
- Coordinate with the Media Department, Sales Department
- Conducts market intelligence to evaluate trends, and ensure the information is disseminated to the team
- Undertakes an active watch on marketing trends and competition
- Properly builds and allocates budget for each campaign and closely monitors spending
- Recommends corrective actions when necessary
- Serves as the point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Assesses and manages customers’ satisfaction
- Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales objectives
- Collaborates with the Sales Department to identify and grow opportunities within the territory
- Manages day-to-day work, performance, and professional development of the team members and ensures optimization of work with available resources
- Sets up goals and objectives for all team members and Conduct performance evaluation using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in marketing, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven track record in successfully overseeing and managing marketing campaigns, including research, social media management, public relations, events, and creative collateral development.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing budgets for client accounts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong client relationships, both with prospects and existing clients.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly with the Media and Sales Departments.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and oversee multiple marketing activities simultaneously.
- Proficient in budget management, forecasting, and tracking key account metrics.
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers, media outlets, photographers/videographers, and other relevant service providers.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to conduct market intelligence, evaluate trends, and disseminate relevant information to the team.
- Up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends and competition in the industry.
