Go Beyond: Nanyang Polytechnic unveils new initiative that allows learners to customise how their diplomas are earned

Learners are taught by local and international university professors and get access to industry experts to expand networks. Credits are earned as part of curriculum hours, rather than extra classes.

SINGAPORE, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) launches Go Beyond. In the new academic year commencing April 2026, learners can choose from different learning opportunities that build credits directly into the completion of their diplomas.

Learners can select from three enhanced learning pathways – Professional, International or University. Go Beyond encourages learners to pursue their own preferred learning experience, whether industry certifications, participation in overseas exchange programmes and internships, or undertaking university modules at local autonomous universities (AUs). Crucially, many of these opportunities do not require learners to put in extra hours or sacrifice co-curricular activity time.

Principal & CEO of NYP, Mr Russell Chan, explained: “Our learners come from a diverse profile, and have their own aspirations, needs and wants. For instance, there are a fair few who seek to work and build their portfolios and CVs prior to graduation. Others will want to build international networks and experiences during their three years here. Those who want a head start in further studies can earn exemptions when applying to universities. The idea is that we will have choices that align to what is important to them and they can embark on these pathways while in NYP. Your diploma, build it your way.”

Professional Pathway: Learners can pursue industry-recognised certifications through partnerships with leading companies across multiple sectors, enhancing their portfolio for work or further studies. NYP collaborates with over 100 industry partners, including Microsoft, Changi Airport Group and ST Engineering, to co-develop and co-teach curriculum that reflects emerging trends and workplace requirements. Internships range from 12 weeks to one year, with year-long placements offered by companies like UOB, JP Morgan and GovTech. All experiences in this pathway contribute to graduation requirements and are included in GPA computation.

International Pathway: Beyond borders, NYP opens doors to the world through partnerships with over 60 universities globally, offering learners transformative opportunities to study abroad, work and gain invaluable international experience and networks. Learners earn academic credits through curated course selections at partner institutions while developing insights into international workplace cultures and industry standards.

This pathway offers two flagship experiences:

  • Overseas Student Exchange Programme (OSEP): Learners embark on a semester-long exchange abroad, at one of NYP’s partner universities spanning 17 countries including France, Germany, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea and Japan.
  • Overseas Internship Programme (OITP): Learners undergo a 12- to 24-week overseas internship placement at an NYP partner organisation, gaining hands-on experience in global business practices while applying their knowledge in real-world settings. Learners can apply for internships at companies including Hong Kong Disneyland, Four Seasons Tokyo Otemachi, and ESIEE Paris.

University Pathway: Designed to prepare learners for university education, this pathway offers programmes to support their academic progression. All learners on this pathway will also benefit from the University Preparatory Mentorship Programme (UPM), receiving support on university and scholarship applications, interview preparation, and portfolio development.

  • University Pathway Programme (UPP): This programme offers two tracks: University Modules, where learners take courses at local AUs such as NUS, NTU, and SMU that count towards graduation but are excluded from GPA computation, potentially leading to conditional offers or module exemptions; and University Immersion Project (UIP), featuring collaborative Final Year Projects (FYP) with university faculty that may result in early conditional offers. Refer to Annex A for a list of diplomas with ongoing and upcoming UPP partnerships.
  • University Foundation Programme (UFP): Learners take preparatory modules in subjects such as Pre-University Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Academic & Professional Writing, with credits counting towards diploma graduation requirements but excluded from GPA computation.
  • Diploma Plus Programme (DPP): Learners can take advanced modules beyond their core curriculum to deepen subject mastery. These modules are graded but excluded from GPA computation and could lead to module exemptions at local AUs. This is the only programme in Go Beyond that requires additional curriculum hours to complete.

Go Beyond is about providing enhanced learning experiences that are credit-bearing and integrated into the diploma curriculum. This ensures no increase in curriculum hours, enabling learners to pursue transformative opportunities while maintaining time for co-curricular activities and leadership development. This approach aligns with a broader commitment to developing well-rounded graduates.

As part of its Sustainability Masterplan, NYP has embedded sustainability across curriculum and campus operations, with learners encouraged to engage in eco-innovations and community initiatives. Baseline literacy in generative AI has also been integrated into all diplomas since October 2025, alongside domain-specific AI capabilities across schools, ensuring graduates are equipped with in-demand skills.

For more information about Go Beyond and the enhanced learning pathways, visit the NYP Open House happening from 08 to 10 Jan 2026.

BLUETTI Debuts Charger 2, the Industry’s First Unified Car & Solar Smart Energy Hub

SYDNEY, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At CES 2026, BLUETTI launched Charger 2, the industry’s first unified car and solar smart energy hub, designed to deliver faster, safer, and more intelligent in-vehicle power for Australia’s RV, 4WD, and off-grid van life community.

BLUETTI Debuts Charger 2, the Industry’s First Unified Car & Solar Smart Energy Hub

On-the-road lifestyles require reliable, constant power, but traditional cigarette lighter ports and available chargers fail in charging efficiency and flexibility. Charger 2 breaks these limitations with a compatible, automated approach.

At the core of Charger 2 is a dual-input architecture that draws power from both the vehicle’s alternator and solar panels simultaneously. With up to 1,200W of combined input, it achieves charging speeds up to 13 times faster than standard 12V car ports and nearly twice as fast as BLUETTI’s previous Charger 1. This means charging a 1kWh battery takes about 70 minutes, ensuring fast battery recovery after short drives.

Designed for easy installation in 4WDs, utes, campervans, and motorhomes, Charger 2 maintains approximately 95% compatibility with third-party portable power stations and adds support for modern smart alternators (Euro 6 compliant). For existing Charger 1 users, the upgrade is seamless, using the same wiring layout for a simple drop-in replacement.

Beyond fast charging, Charger 2 functions as the control centre of BLUETTI’s Battery Link vehicle energy management system, automatically managing power flow between the starter battery, solar panels, auxiliary batteries, and DC loads. With the optional Charger 2 DC Hub delivering 600W power, travelers can run high on-board devices through a 12V/50A Anderson port and several DC outlets. Whether driving or parked, plug-and-play power is available without manual switching or draining the starter battery.

Safety is built in as standard. Charger 2 includes comprehensive protection against over-voltage, overheating, and reverse polarity, along with bi-directional reverse charging for starter battery maintenance. Emergency jump-start capability, trickle charging, and pulse maintenance help reduce the risk of flat batteries during remote travel or long-term parking.

Charger 2 offers intelligent monitoring and control through the BLUETTI App, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity allowing users to view real-time status, manage outputs, and review energy history. Compatibility with smart alternators is managed via D+ signal communication, ensuring stable operation across modern vehicle platforms.

The BLUETTI Charger 2 launches in Australia on 7 January 2026 at only AUD 599 until 7 February 2026, with a 72-hour AUD 199 offer exclusively for Charger 1 owners.

Chintai and Maluku Archipelago Joint Venture Unveil one of the World’s Largest Regulated Nature-Based Asset Tokenization Projects.

Value of resource rights available for future development and tokenization initially estimated at $28 billion.

SINGAPORE, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Singapore regulated blockchain infrastructure provider and trading platform Chintai has entered a partnership with the Maluku Archipelago Joint Venture (MAJV) jointly owned by DeepGreenX Group and Forest First International to tokenize real-world assets tied to the venture’s 60-year nature-based development project for the Maluku and North Maluku provinces of Indonesia.

Spanning 1,400 islands and approximately 710,000 square kilometres in Indonesia’s biodiversity epicentre, the Maluku project integrates ecological preservation, technological innovation, community-driven economics, and digital financing to sustainably develop the province’s forestry, mining, fisheries, marine, and other ecosystems and sectors – along with the infrastructure to support them.

The future token issue is expected to be linked to the estimated $28 billion total value of the 60-year resource and development rights vested with MAJV, making it one of the world’s largest to date.

The regulated Nature-Based Asset token, is expected to be structured as a treasury-backed digital asset, will be designated under the ticker $MLKU with a total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. The initial token issue is currently escrowed, but is anticipated to be offered initially through a private placement to institutional investors, and, subject to applicable regulatory requirements, more broadly in subsequent rounds.

At the core of the collaboration, Chintai, as a leading regulated RWA tokenization platform in Singapore, provides end-to-end regulated tokenization infrastructure, on-chain governance systems and security token risk frameworks for the project. Leveraging its extensive experience in sustainable development-related assets, renewable energy projects and carbon markets. Chintai also supported the launch of the Asia Carbon Institute in 2023.

“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Chintai on this seminal project in sustainability-focused economic development.  Our mission is to preserve the natural beauty and ecological resources of the province while using modern digital finance and tokenization techniques to create an unprecedented level of future development capital for the region.  Chintai’s demonstrated expertise in both digital finance and sustainability makes them the perfect partner for us,” said Barclay Knapp, the Maluku Archipelago Joint Venture’s CEO.

“As a strategic partner, Chintai is committed to delivering the regulated technology platform, blockchain governance and RWA risk management framework required to support large-scale deployment that meets the expectations of global financial institutions, family offices, and sovereign-linked capital,” said Chintai CEO David Packham.

The partner’s collaborative effort promises to make this project one of the world’s most significant Nature-Based RWA tokenization undertakings – and potentially a new benchmark in the digital asset sector – while further reinforcing Singapore’s position in regulated digital assets.

About Chintai

Chintai is a leading one-stop solution for modernising capital markets. Regulated and licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Chintai platform uses blockchain technology to enable traditional finance and innovative companies to harness the power of regulated digital assets. Rokid Launches the World’s First Open AI Ecosystem Smart Glasses — Ultra-Light, Prescription-First, and Built to Work with ChatGPT, Qwen, DeepSeek, and More

A 38.5-gram, display-free AI glasses platform featuring a dual-chip architecture and global accessibility focus—bringing AI into everyday wear and accelerating the mainstream adoption of smart eyewear.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Rokid, a global pioneer in human-computer interaction and AI-powered eyewear, today unveils Rokid Ai Glasses Style at CES 2026. Style is a display-free, voice-centric AI glasses built for all-day wear, combining an open AI ecosystem, prescription-first design, dual-chip architecture, and a strong commitment to global accessibility.

Rokid Ai Glasses Style
Rokid Ai Glasses Style

Weighing just 38.5 grams, Style is among the lightest full-featured AI glasses on the market. Designed as premium eyewear rather than a gadget, it represents Rokid’s answer to the industry’s long-standing dilemma: how to deliver powerful AI functionality without compromising comfort, style, or battery life.

After more than a decade focused exclusively on AR and smart glasses, Rokid positions Style as a defining step toward what many industry leaders now describe as the next major personal-computing shift — the “iPhone moment” of AI glasses. As noted by tech visionary Kevin Kelly during a recent visit to Rokid, “Smart glasses will be the next iPhone.”

Why It Matters — The World’s First Open AI Ecosystem Without Lock-In in Eyewear

Unlike most smart glasses locked into a single AI model or regional service stack, Rokid Ai Glasses Style is built on an open, global AI strategy.

Style supports multiple AI engines, including ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Qwen, and integrates with global services such as Google Maps and Microsoft AI Translation, enabling AI use across regions and languages without ecosystem lock-in.

Beyond AI models, Rokid is committed to open global partnerships. In China, Rokid has already connected services such as payments, insurance, ride-hailing, car control, and health, and launched an AI Agent Store — a developer-first platform that allows third-party AI agents to run natively on smart glasses.
This open ecosystem will gradually expand to international markets, reinforcing Rokid’s vision of AI that is borderless, flexible, and user-controlled.

What Sets Style Apart — The Industry’s Most Comprehensive Prescription & Lens Ecosystem

Prescription compatibility is not an add-on — it is core to Style’s design.

Rokid introduces a comprehensive global online prescription service, addressing one of the biggest adoption barriers in smart eyewear. Style supports a correction range from plano to ±15.00D, covering:

  • Myopia
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia
  • Progressive lenses
  • Functional lenses (photochromic, tinted, blue-light, UV, polarized, anti-reflective)

Style features ultra-thin lenses with anti-scratch coatings and dynamic photochromic lenses available in six color options, transitioning from clear indoor glasses to stylish outdoor sunglasses in ~25 seconds.

Through Rokid’s global prescription platform, users can upload prescriptions online and receive custom lenses within 7–10 days, delivered directly to their door.

“AI glasses are becoming the most natural interface for the next era of computing. Clarity is a fundamental human right,” said Zoro Shao, Global General Manager at Rokid. “With Style, our goal is simple: make advanced AI truly usable, comfortable and accessible for everyday life. And we ensure that prescription requirements never limit a user’s access to wisdom and technology.”

Core Innovation — Four World-First Innovations Setting New Industry Standards for AI Glasses

Rokid has consistently pioneered foundational technologies now becoming industry norms. With Style, the company introduces or advances four world-firsts:

  1. World’s first open, global AI ecosystem in eyewear
  2. World’s first dual-chip AI glasses architecture (now widely embraced across the smart glasses industry)
    • NXP RT600 handles low-power, always-on tasks
    • Qualcomm AR1 manages AI and imaging workloads
  3. World’s first AI glasses supporting voice interaction in 12 languages
  4. World’s first AI glasses with true multimodal interaction + AI shortcuts

Style supports voice interaction in 12 languages and translation in 89 languages, along with multimodal input that includes voice commands, physical controls, head gestures and AI shortcuts. Users can nod to answer calls, shake their head to end them, and activate predefined AI functions quickly and hands-free.

Designed for Everyday Use — Featherweight Comfort, All-Day Battery Life and Premium Optics

At 38.5 grams (1.36 oz), Style is significantly lighter than comparable products (e.g., Meta Ray-Ban Gen 1 at ~49g; Gen 2 at ~51–53g), making it genuinely wearable throughout the day.

Designed to look and feel like premium eyewear, Style features:

  • Aviation-grade titanium alloy hinges
  • Air-cushioned liquid-silicone nose pads
  • Classic D-shaped frame design

Thanks to its dual-chip architecture, Style delivers up to 12 hours of typical daily use and over 24 hours of standby time on a single charge.

Built for Daily Style Personalization and Creators — Triple-Format Imaging Without Compromise

Style offers two frame colors — Jet Black and Translucent Grey — paired with diverse lens options, allowing users to adapt the glasses to fashion, lighting, activities, or mood.

Equipped with a 12MP Sony sensor, open-ear audio, advanced imaging, and 4K capture, Style introduces a creator-ready triple-format imaging system: 3:4/4:3/9:16.

Unlike most smart glasses that support only one shooting format, Style enables instant, platform-ready content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more — no cropping, no post-editing required.

What’s more, Style supports continuous video recording of up to 10 minutes, significantly exceeding the typical ~3-minute limit of comparable products such as Meta Ray-Ban.

Whether capturing cinematic scenes, square-format moments, or vertical social content, users can effortlessly switch formats, ensuring every shot is platform-ready without the need for cropping or post-editing — giving Rokid a significant competitive edge in creator-friendly smart eyewear.

Competitive Pricing and Availability

Designed to balance the industry “impossible triangle” dilemma: wearability & comfort, functionality & performance, and long battery life, the Style integrates multimodal AI interaction, precision prescription optics, and lightweight, with a global retail price starting at $299, excluding tax.

To address the high cost of prescription lenses, Rokid is offering a “Golden Bundle”, which includes 1.60 index prescription lenses with photochromic functionality. While comparable devices from other brands (ex.Meta Ray-Ban) can cost over $579, the Rokid Style Golden Bundle is priced at $398, making advanced prescription-compatible AI glasses more accessible.

Rokid Ai Glasses Style are available for reservation, with an early-bird offer that allows customers to place a $1 deposit and receive a $20 discount. This reservation period precedes the official global online launch on January 19, 2026, when the product will become available through Rokid’s global website as well as selected online and offline retail channels worldwide.

At launch, Style will debut in Jet Black, with a second colorway, Translucent Gray, scheduled to follow in March 2026. Together, the two color options echo Rokid’s design philosophy and product slogan — “Twice the Style” — expressing the fusion of smart glasses functionality and dual fashion aesthetics.

“Leave Nobody Behind”: A Commitment to AI Glasses for Social Good and Accessibility

In a move to democratize technology for the visually impaired, Rokid also announced an accessibility initiative aimed at supporting blind and low-vision users, recognizing that audio-based AI glasses can serve as “digital eyes.” Customers purchasing Style for a visually impaired user will receive a $20 subsidy, lowering the price to $279, with additional launch promotions reducing the cost further.

“Globally, over 1 billion people have vision impairments; 43 million are completely blind, and two-thirds live in the Asia-Pacific region. They don’t need screens or cool AR displays. They are urgently calling for an AI glass that is lightweight, long-lasting, and has powerful perception capabilities to serve as their “eyes.” This is one of the most important reasons we accelerated the launch of Style.”said Zoro Shao, Global General Manager at Rokid.

“Technology shouldn’t just be a toy for the few; it should be a light in everyone’s life,” added Zoro. “Our mission is to leave nobody behind.”

A Decade of Focus on AR Glasses: Accelerate the Mainstream Adoption of AI Glasses

Rokid has spent more than a decade focused exclusively on smart glasses. In 2025, the company launched Rokid Glasses, the world’s lightest full-function AI & AR glasses with display, setting a global Extended Reality (XR) market record with over $6 million raised, and began shipping mass-production units worldwide by December—demonstrating Rokid’s ability to move from innovation to real-world deployment.

Building on this momentum, Rokid Ai Glasses Style removes the final barriers to mass adoption — weight, cost, prescription compatibility, and ecosystem openness —accelerating the transition of AI glasses from early adopters to everyday users.

About Rokid

Founded in 2014, Rokid is a global pioneer in augmented reality (AR) and AI, focused on creating human-centered smart glasses that seamlessly integrate intelligence into everyday life. As one of the industry’s earliest innovators, the company is widely recognized as the first to deliver smart glasses with open, global AI access, enabling real-time translation and AI interaction across platforms and regions.

Rokid serves consumers, developers, and enterprise users globally and hosts China’s largest XR developer community, with over 20,000 registered developers and 5,000 enterprise partners. 2025 International Travel Overview: Agoda Unveils the Ranking of Top Overseas Destinations Among South Korean Travelers

– South Korean travelers continued to favor short-haul destinations, with Japan taking the top three spots, followed by Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Taiwan.

SEOUL, South Korea, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Overseas travel from South Korea continues to rebound at a rapid pace. According to the Korea Tourism Organization and Incheon International Airport Corporation, both the number of South Koreans traveling abroad between January and October 2025 (24,335,383 people), and the number of international flight operations (349,919 flights) increased by 3.2% year-on-year. Insights from digital travel platform Agoda echo this momentum, with interest in international travel from South Korean travelers increasing by 15% in 2025 compared to 2024.

Reflecting this growing demand, Agoda has revealed a list of the top 10 international destinations favored by South Korean travelers in 2025, based on accommodation search data. Tokyo (Japan) ranked first, followed by Fukuoka (Japan) and Osaka (Japan) in the top three rankings, underscoring Japan’s continued appeal. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, 7.66 million South Koreans visited Japan between January and October 2025 – a 6.4% increase from the previous year.

Nha Trang (Vietnam), Bali (Indonesia), Da Nang (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand), Sapporo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), and Phu Quoc (Vietnam) rounded out the top ten, highlighting continued interest in short-haul destinations.

Vietnam, in particular, gained traction throughout the year, with multiple coastal and island destinations making the list. Phu Quoc, often referred to as the “Maldives of Vietnam,” recorded the highest year-on-year growth in travel interest (+63%), climbing six places and entering the top 10 in 2025. As the only destination in Vietnam offering visa-free entry to all international travelers for up to 30 days, combined with its striking natural landscapes such as Sao Beach, Kem Beach, and eco-tourism sites like Phu Quoc National Park, the island continues to attract an increasing number of South Korean travelers.

Looking ahead, this demand is expected to continue. According to Agoda’s 2026 Travel Outlook Report, 39% of South Korean travelers said that they plan to travel primarily overseas this year, 15 percentage points higher than the Asian regional average of 24%.

Jay Lee, Regional Director, North Asia at Agoda, said, “Despite the elevated exchange rate, South Korean travelers continue to demonstrate strong demand for international exploration, and we expect this momentum to carry throughout the year. From ever-popular Japanese cities to fast-rising destinations in Vietnam, we’re seeing sustained interest in both cultural immersion and relaxing escapes. To support this, Agoda remains committed to offering a wide range of flights, accommodations, and activities to help travelers reach the destinations they aspire to visit.”

Travelers planning their 2026 holiday trips can enjoy Agoda’s offerings of over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities, all easily combined in a single booking. Ensign InfoSecurity Maintains Top 10 Global Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP) Ranking; Remains Asia Pacific’s Leading MSSP for the Fourth Year

SINGAPORE, Jan. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ensign InfoSecurity, Asia Pacific’s largest pure-play cybersecurity services provider, has once again been recognised in the 2025 MSSP Alert Top 250 Managed Security Service Providers list, ranking 7th globally and placing within the global top 10 for the fourth consecutive year. The ranking also reaffirms its position as the highest-ranked MSSP from the Asia Pacific region.

The MSSP Alert Top 250 list is an annual, independent industry benchmark that identifies the world’s leading managed security service providers based on service breadth, depth of capability, revenue performance, and innovation. Ensign has now been featured in the top 10 in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, underscoring its sustained growth and operational excellence at a time when cyber threats continue to escalate globally.

“The continued recognition in the MSSP Alert Top 250 highlights our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class managed security services that keep pace with the evolving threat landscape,” said Charles Ng, Chief Executive Officer, Ensign InfoSecurity. “As threats grow in sophistication, our focus remains on empowering organisations with intelligence-led defence capabilities that anticipate, rather than react to adversary behaviour.”

In line with this strategic commitment to innovation, Ensign launched an Agentic Security Operations Centre (SOC) at GovWare 2025, the first in Asia to be designed and developed entirely in-house by a cybersecurity services provider. Powered by autonomous AI agents, the platform integrates adaptive intelligence, regional threat insights, and human expertise to enable organisations to detect, triage, and respond to cyber threats at machine speed.

Unlike traditional or AI-augmented SOCs that depend on scripted automation, the Agentic SOC continually perceives, reasons, decides and learns from real-world attack patterns, enabling faster containment and deeper contextual understanding of threats. Its autonomous agents help reduce analyst workload and improve operational resilience across complex environments.

“As attackers increasingly weaponise AI and exploit broader ecosystem vulnerabilities, defensive technologies must evolve beyond manual workflows and static rule sets,” said Mr. Chua Zong Fu, Executive Vice President, International Business & Commercial, Ensign InfoSecurity. “The Agentic SOC represents a fundamental shift in how organisations defend themselves, combining adaptive AI with expert human oversight to stay ahead of adversaries.”
