TRON Founder Justin Sun Shares His Optimism About Blockchain’s Future with the Milken Institute

Sun first points out, “in recent years, blockchain has witnessed a leap of faith in adoption amongst mainstream organizations, financial institutions, and developers alike. According to statistics from CoinMarketCap, almost four new cryptocurrencies are created every day, and the NFT market has exploded by over 20x since 2020.”
Sun further discusses the future of the blockchain: “Nevertheless, the blockchain industry’s promise extends beyond its technological breakthroughs. It has the potential to fundamentally transform how we operate as a society in the future; one example is the revolutionary premise of Web3.” He believes that the adoption and development of Web3 may “usher in the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) as a new form of global organization”.
Sun takes TRONDAO as a case in point: “TRONDAO, one of the most active blockchain platforms, has already transformed into the largest global crypto DAO in less than one year since its origin.”
“I’m proud of the people: the thinkers, the developers, the users, and the supporters of the TRON DAO ecosystem all around the globe,” Sun writes.
Justin Sun has reportedly been invited to participate in the 2022 Milken Institute Asia Summit on September 29. He is expected to have a conversation with Curtis S. Chin, Chair of the Asia Center, about issues including crypto technology and the digital economy.
The Milken Institute is a non-partisan, non-profit economic and policy think tank. Its Milken Institute Asia Summit is an annual event that brings together CEOs, senior government officials, and senior financial executives around the world to discuss feasible solutions to various challenges. Scheduled to be held on September 28-30, 2022, in Singapore, the ninth Summit sets its theme as “The World Transformed”. Previously, Justin Sun attended the eighth Asian Summit in 2021 as a panel speaker in the “Crypto’s Continuing Chronicles” session.

Get Ahead with Smart Productivity and Enhanced Privacy & Safety in the brand-new OPPO ColorOS 13

Improving working efficiency across multiple devices
It’s now more common than not to have to work with multiple devices like a computer and a smartphone at the same time. Despite some advantages, having to constantly switch between the two devices can be frustrating and time consuming. OPPO first introduced Multi-Screen Connect on ColorOS 12 to help solve many of these frustrations, and now on ColorOS 13, OPPO has taken a step further to enhance this feature with some new capabilities.
The upgraded Multi-Screen Connect now includes support for OPPO Pad Air, which was launched in May earlier this year. The 2K display tablet includes powerful productivity and immersive entertainment features and can now sync-up and interact with OPPO smartphones using Multi-Screen Connect. Just one tap of the Multi-Screen Connect toggle in the Control Center can connect a smartphone to the OPPO Pad Air, supporting operations like screen casting, reverse control, file transfer, and copy and paste of text between devices. With the exclusive UI features on ColorOS 13 for large screens, users can now maximize the way they interact with their OPPO tablet.
Connection between PCs and OPPO devices has also been enhanced in ColorOS 13. Multi-Screen Connect now supports the simultaneous display of two different smartphone apps plus screen mirroring on a PC screen, enabling users to work more easily with multiple apps on the large screen instead of switching between apps on the phone, helping to significantly improve multi-tasking efficiency[1].

The upgraded Multi-Screen Connect also makes it much easier and faster to transfer files between devices. Rapid file transfer from OPPO smartphone to OPPO tablet or smartphone to PC can be done without consuming any mobile data, and most major file types are supported, including images, music, documents, and videos. Users can also benefit from the Nearby Share feature from Android 13[2], which can be used to transfer files between a phone and nearby Windows devices and clipboard sharing for copying and pasting text across devices.
Now you can seamlessly switch and work across your smartphone, PC and OPPO tablet, enjoying enhanced efficiency and convenience at work or home.
Boosting remote meeting productivity
With remote working becoming such a normal part of people’s lives, OPPO has introduced the Meeting Assistant on ColorOS 13 to help boost productivity during online meetings.
Once the phone detects that you are in an online meeting, it will trigger adaptive network optimizations to allocate more network resources to meeting apps such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, ensuring a smoother and higher-quality internet connection during important meetings. Meanwhile, the Meeting Assistant will also minimize distractions by simplifying notifications, including changing regular banner notifications to simplified banner notifications with only single-line-text content.

Protecting information privacy and data security
ColorOS 13 also includes enhanced privacy and safety functions to help you feel safe and secure when using your smart devices. As we share more and more of our lives online, it can be difficult managing which information should be shared or not. That’s why OPPO has introduced the Auto Pixelate feature into ColorOS 13. The feature is based on the on-device algorithm model. With just one click, Auto Pixelate can automatically recognize and pixelate sensitive information like profile photos and names on chat screenshots in Facebook Messager and WhatsApp, making it easier to share your screenshots privately and safely.

The new Private Safe in ColorOS 13 comes with the adoption of the widely used Advanced Encryption Standard, which keeps pictures, videos, and other files encrypted and stored under a locked, private directory. Files in Private Safe need to be decrypted before they can be shared or transferred, ensuring an extremely high level of security for your sensitive data.
Moreover, the underlying privacy capabilities of Android 13 have been integrated into ColorOS 13 to provide comprehensive, all-round safety. Data copied to the clipboard can be automatically deleted after a short period of time, preventing unwanted access to personal information by third party apps. When connecting to Wi-Fi, no location permissions will be asked for, ensuring no unnecessary disclosure of your location data. ColorOS 13 also provides more options when granting notification permissions, allowing users to minimize disruptions from a large number of unwanted notifications.
Thanks to its wealth of privacy and security features, ColorOS 13 has been recognized by authoritative third-party organizations including ISO, ePrivacy, and TrustArc. This recognition demonstrates OPPO’s ability to protect user privacy and safety to a level that exceeds industry standards.
Starting with the Find X5 Pro and Find X5, OPPO users worldwide will soon be able to enjoy the smart productivity and enhanced privacy provided by ColorOS 13.

7-Eleven Launches ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme to Support Pei Ho Counterparts Targeting to Raise HKD2,000,000 to Feed Those in Need

7-Eleven has served Hong Kong for over 40 years and is committed to giving back to the communities it operates in during times of need. 7-Eleven has been supporting Pei Ho Counterparts–a social enterprise founded by Mr Chan Cheuk-ming popularly known as Ming Gor, in Sham Shui Po since 2017. Pei Ho Counterparts has been a longstanding charity partner of 7-Eleven for many years now and the money raised will go towards providing free meals and supplies to the elderly, homeless people, and grassroots families in need.
7-Eleven is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme today (15 September). ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ means “the meal is ready to serve” in Cantonese. We want to involve the public in the shared mission of 7-Eleven and Pei Ho Counterparts and are committed to offering ready-to-eat meals to our customers as well as providing free meals to the underprivileged. Through ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme, HKD0.5 will be donated to Pei Ho Counterparts for each designated 7-SELECT meal box sold in 7-Eleven stores. And we target to raise HKD2,000,000 to support Pei Ho Counterparts, which is equivalent to providing over 80,000 meal boxes and supporting 5 months of food assistance to those in need.
‘Helping to Feed Those in Need’: Donating $0.5 for Every 7-SELECT Meal Box Sold
Starting from today, HKD0.5 will be donated to Pei Ho Counterparts for each designated 7-SELECT meal box sold in 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong. The money raised will be given to Pei Ho Counterparts to help them distribute free meals and supplies to those in need. The programme will last for a year to enable more members of the public to take part.
Connecting Those Most in Need with Donors Through Our Extensive Store Network
7-Eleven has the largest retail network in Hong Kong with over 1,000 stores and is an integral part of the neighbourhoods it serves. It understands that its customers and the community want to actively help the less fortunate. This programme makes use of 7-Eleven’s store network as a platform to connect people who want to donate with beneficiaries, enabling the public to provide ongoing support to Pei Ho Counterparts.
Mr Choo Peng Chee, Chief Executive Officer of DFI Retail North Asia, said, “As part of the Hong Kong community and as organisation that prioritises corporate social responsibility, we are committed to contributing to society. The ongoing continuous COVID-19 outbreak has caused severe impact, especially among grassroots citizens. 7-Eleven and Pei Ho Counterparts share the same belief. We are inspired by Ming Gor’s dedication to serving the community and have been partnering with Pei Ho Counterparts since 2017. With 7-Eleven’s extensive stores network, we believe we can create a stronger bond with the neighbourhoods we serve and make a real difference, with the launch of this yearlong CSR programme that targets to raise HKD$2,000,000 for Pei Ho Counterparts.”
Mr Chan Cheuk-ming, the founder of Pei Ho Counterparts, said, “I am very concerned about the adverse impact created by the ongoing pandemic. The increasing costs and growing need for our services put a lot of pressure on our operations. I am incredibly grateful for 7-Eleven’s continuous support of our work and their hands-on involvement at every stage. I am sure that their passion and care have touched the hearts of many. The donations raised by ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme will be an important, stable and ongoing source of support for our daily operations and enable us to give greater help to the community. I sincerely hope that more people will support ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme!”
Volunteers once again handed out festive meal boxes and supplies in Sham Shui Po
7-Eleven and Pei Ho Counterparts have always shared the same vision to give back to the community and have together distributed approximately 250,000 meal boxes to those in need since 2017. 7-Eleven’s volunteer team made up of its own team members along with volunteers from Pei Ho Counterparts regularly visit homeless people and elderly people living alone in the community. They handed out meal boxes, bottled water and goodie bags for Mid-Autumn Festival. Ming Gor, the founder of Pei Ho Counterparts, visited Tung Chau Street Park in Sham Shui Po and the Fu Cheong Estate together with the 7-Eleven volunteer team on 3 September to distribute meals and supplies to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate and provide much-needed support.
Details of ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ Charity Programme
- From 15 September 2022, HKD0.5 will be donated to Pei Ho Counterparts for each designated 7-SELECT meal box sold. The programme will last for one year and applies to designated 7-SELECT meal boxes excluding pasta items.
- To show our gratitude for their generosity, customers will receive a ‘Sik Tak Fan La’ thank you receipt every time they buy a 7-SELECT meal box.
- On ‘Double Up Day’, the 11th day of every month, the donation will be doubled from HKD0.5 to HKD1 for every designated 7-SELECT meal box sold.
- An official website ( https://www.711donation.com ) will be launched to show the number of meal boxes sold and the real-time amount of donations, so that donors can keep track of the programme’s progress.

HSG Holding Acquires Leading Middle East and Africa (MEA) Region Technology Integration Company — IT Hospitality Group — as it Rolls Out its Long-Term Investment Plans Focused on the Hospitality Industry
HSG Holding has announced its acquisition of IT Hospitality Group (ITHG), a market-leader in integrated IT solutions and infrastructure, in Africa and the Middle East. With this acquisition, HSG Holding enters the hospitality arena as an investment vehicle to strengthen the developments of companies within the industry in the post Covid 19 period.
HSG Holding was established to focus on investment opportunities within the hospitality sector at the intersection where the strength of traditional hospitality operations meets with new technologies that can assist in the digital transformation of the industry. Technology is playing a far greater role in the industry and is fast becoming a critical aspect of running hotel operations. The company believes in investing over the long-term as it sees great opportunities for growth in the MEA region and beyond.
Helping the hospitality industry with its digital transform journey
For more than a decade, ITHG has designed and implemented integrated networks, guest entertainment platforms, connectivity solutions, telephony, digital signage, and CCTV, into more than 200 hotels, and 75 000 hotel rooms across the MEA region. Long-term partnerships with the likes of Accor, Marriott, Radisson, and Hilton, among others, are a strong reflection of the ITH team’s depth of experience and understanding of the local environment, as well as the technical challenges their clients face — particularly in a post-pandemic period.

“Strong networks and the ability to implement the latest wired and wireless technologies is what gives our customers the edge over their competitors. It means that guests staying in their hotels are able to connect to the internet effortlessly, access streaming services such as Netflix, and even call the concierge from their own mobile device, rather than relying on in-house telephone services. The hotel’s Guest Relations team is able to welcome guests and keep them informed about available services and activities as well as updated airport arrivals and departure times via in-house advertising and promotions across a variety of dynamic information points,” says Olivier Hennion, Managing Director of IT Hospitality Group.
“As we continue to strengthen and grow our relationships with our partners, we are expanding our support and service offerings to these chains over a larger geographic area. This acquisition by HSG Holdings means that we are able to accelerate our own development to be able to provide even greater services to our clients, through expansion of our current 12 locations in the region into additional territories, bringing us closer to our customers to provide more direct assistance as it is needed,” continues Hennion.
