Russian Chemists Union celebrates milestone in global synthetic rubber production

MOSCOW, RUSSIA – Media OutReach – 26 October 2022 – The Russian Chemists Union marks the 95th anniversary of an important Russian contribution to the global rise of synthetic rubber – a key material in modern life.

While it often goes unnoticed, rubber is one of the most essential and widely used materials today. Products made from rubber are ubiquitous in industries ranging from transportation to construction and consumer goods. It is the key material for the production of tires, footwear, and surgical gloves and catheters for the healthcare industry, among many other uses.

The widespread use of rubber today was made possible by the invention of synthetic rubber, whose elasticity, toughness and flexibility make it better suited for modern industries than its naturally occurring counterpart.

This year marks the 95th anniversary of another major advancement in the field: the invention of industrial-scale synthetic rubber production.

In 1927, the Russian chemist Sergey Lebedev developed a method to obtain large quantities of synthetic rubber using ethyl alcohol rather than petroleum. This discovery became an impetus for the rapid advancement of global research to create a wide range of synthetic rubbers that tremendously expanded mankind’s ability to manufacture new products.

In subsequent decades, chemists from the United States, Europe and other parts of the world succeeded in developing synthetic rubbers with high resistance to heat, frost, abrasion and aggressive environments, laying the foundation for the production of advanced polymers that have become an indispensable part of our daily lives.

Dmitry Konov, Board Member of the Russian Chemists Union, commented:

“The development of synthetic rubber is a triumph of international cooperation that has benefited all mankind. It is important, especially today, to maintain a long-term developmental approach to key industries such as petrochemicals, which develop and produce the materials that support the changing needs of our global society. Russian researchers and industry players have made a significant contribution in this regard. It is only by keeping open the channels of scientific cooperation and dialogue across countries and industries that we will be able to continue on the path of global advancement.”

SEO ‧ SEM ‧ Web Design of Hello SEO Digital Marketing – It’s Time to Spread Your Business To the Google Audience

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 26 October 2022 – To get better marketing results, many business owners switched to spread their business on Google, the largest search engine nowadays. Google marketing allows businesses to appear specifically to targeted potential audiences with strong buying intentions.

Hello SEO is a Hong Kong digital marketing agency, specialising in providing SEO, SEM and web design services. For SEO, the company charges clients according to the SEO service’s performance, which is not a norm in the HK SEO marketing industry. clients pay for the performance when certain keywords reach the desired organic ranking of the search engine results page. Unlike the old SEO practice of adding a lot of text and keywords on the surface of the website, Hello SEO’s SEO Service is specialized in boosting a website’s organic traffic by using the new Google Core Web Vitals indicators, which focus on enhancing the website structure, replacing the and directly shortening the connecting time between the website and highly reducing the calculation time. All these allow clients to get a reliable SEO HK performance with a reasonable SEO price.

For those looking for a quick spreading effect, SEM marketing services may be more suitable. Google Ads has been recognised as the most effective online marketing tool. There are 6 major types of Google Ads management services including Keyword Search Ads, Dynamic Search Ads, Display Ads, Video Ads, Shopping Ads, and Map Ads. To optimize the effectiveness of these Google advertisements and minimize the SEM price, SEM service with experienced analysis and strategic ad setting is essential.

Google Keyword Search Ads are sometimes known as Pay Per Click (PPC), which means Google charges only when the audience has clicked the ad link. The spending for each keyword in Keyword Search Ads and the SEM cost is definitely the big concerns of all clients. The amount of budget depends on the competitiveness of the targeted keyword, how much the competitor is willing to pay, and “when, which position, and how often” the ad is expected to be found on the result page. By using the Hello SEO Google Ads Budget Calculator, clients can an estimated amount of Ads budget in advance. The calculator is free and open to the public without requesting any personal contacts. After inputting the targeted keywords and expected duration of the ads, the amount of Ads budget for specific keywords in the last 12 months will be shown.

Instead of waiting for a monthly report, a 24-hour real-time reporting system, the DashBoard of Hello SEO is provided to every customer to track the SEO and SEM performance anytime and anywhere. The hourly updated report includes the organic traffic data, paid traffic data, cost-per-click, impression, click-through rate, keyword ranking, backlinks information, performance comparison of the competitors, etc.

Google prefers something unique and thus it is a difficult job or impossible job to boost ranking for a website simply built by a famous website builder or template. As a professional web application development and web design company, Hello SEO team codes and creates a website without using any website builder or website templates. It turns out with a smooth and SEO-friendly website. Hello SEO’s website design service is charged on a monthly basis, and the web design price depends on the complexity of the website design. The web management services include cloud server maintenance, AMP/ PWA installation, UI and UX design, program development, daily maintenance, etc.

To spread your business in the Google world, SEO and SEM are playing different roles. SEO gets higher rankings “naturally” by increasing organic traffic to a website, which takes a longer time to achieve, while SEM is more about paid traffic. SEM seems to be a shortcut, but it is not a straightforward path. It requires strategy and budget to achieve.

Financial Services Firms Operating Under False Sense of Security

Trend Micro research finds most are over-confident about ability to withstand ransomware

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 26 October 2022 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global cybersecurity leader, today revealed that financial services firms are more confident they’re protected from ransomware than any other sector. Yet at the same time, they’re exposed by supply chain risk and sub-par detection capabilities.

To find out more, please visit: https://www.trendmicro.com/explore/glrans

Trend Micro commissioned Sapio Research to poll over 355 financial services IT and business leaders across the globe, as part of a wider cross-industry report into ransomware.

It found that 75% believe they’re adequately protected from ransomware, far higher than the average of 63% across all sectors.

This confidence is partly justified: 99% say they regularly patch servers, 92% secure remote desktop protocol (RDP) endpoints, and 94% have rules in place to mitigate risks from email attachments.

However, 72% of respondents admitted their organisation has been compromised by ransomware in the past, and 79% see their sector as a more attractive target for threat actors than others.

This awareness of current threat levels in the financial services sector does not always translate into action.

Around two-fifths do not use network detection and response (40%) or endpoint detection and response tools (39%), and half (49%) don’t have extended detection and response (XDR) in place.

This may account for poor detection rates for activity connected with ransomware. Only a third (33%) say they can accurately spot lateral movement, and 44% initial access.

Trend Micro also uncovered significant third-party cyber risk for financial services organisations:

  • 56% have had supplier compromised by ransomware, mostly partners (56%) and subsidiaries (29%)
  • 54% believe their suppliers make them a more attractive target
  • 52% say a significant number of their suppliers are SMBs, who may have less resource to spend on security

“Greater collaboration and information sharing with third parties could help to improve the security posture of the overall supply chain,” said Bharat Mistry, Technical Director at Trend Micro. “However, without adequate detection and response capabilities, they may not have the intelligence to hand in the first place. Financial services leaders recognise they’re a top target for ransomware actors. It’s time to turn that awareness into action.”

A quarter (24%) of financial services firms don’t share any threat information with their partners, 38% do not do so with suppliers, and even more (42%) don’t engage with the broader ecosystem, according to the research.

World Vision Singapore Launches Public Fundraising Appeal In Response To The Escalating Hunger Crisis in East Africa

  • More than 11 million people in East Africa are pushed to the edge of starvation. Of critical concern are 6.5 million vulnerable children suffering from malnutrition.
  • World Vision Singapore will deploy giving machines at Great World and Parkway Parade from 1 November for a period of two months to rally for public donations, committing to raise $287,000 to support these communities with life-saving aid.

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 26 October 2022 – Countries in East Africa are struggling to survive an escalating hunger crisis due to a deadly mix of conflict, COVID-19 and climate change. More than 11 million people are pushed to the brink of starvation. Of critical concern are 6.5 million vulnerable children projected to suffer from acute malnutrition and are at risks of starving to death.

Caption

To safeguard these vulnerable communities from the devastating effects of hunger, World Vision Singapore has launched a public fundraising appeal and commits to raise $287,000. The funds raised will lend aid to children and families across five affected countries—Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan.

Due to climate change, the people of East Africa have endured three major drought seasons and cycles of desert locust swarms in the past decade, causing cattle to die and crops to fail. Along with the impact of regional conflicts, ongoing civil unrest, restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the continual conflict in Ukraine, food is scarce and energy prices are increasing rapidly, pushing millions of people into desperate situations. Rising food insecurity dramatically increases the risks of violence, exploitation and abuse of children. Social issues such as loss of income opportunities and lack of education access and rights of women and girls are also exacerbated, culminating in extensive suffering across the region.

Andrew Morley, World Vision International President and CEO said, “This is not just about the immediate pain of thirst and hunger; about mothers checking to make sure their malnourished children are still breathing during the night; or about girls and boys, who should be in school, trekking miles to collect water from snake-infested boreholes. The drought is tearing into every aspect of life here – ripping apart an already fragile security net for countless children and their families and is compounded by the socioeconomic and livelihood impacts of COVID-19.”

“It’s estimated that a person dies from hunger every four seconds right now. If the hunger crisis was dire before, the war in Ukraine has made it much worse – the number of people living in catastrophic conditions of starvation is four times higher today than just 15 months ago. The challenge is large but we can avert this crisis if we act now,” added Andrew Morley.

Vulnerable children suffer the most in crises. The international community must mobilise funding to prioritise the lives of millions of children and their families who could risk dying from starvation.

World Vision Singapore National Director, Lilian Chung said, “World Vision is already on the ground responding to the immediate needs of affected communities but the needs are outpacing the funding support. We can make a difference if governments, donors and humanitarian organisations act swiftly together to keep the children and their families alive. The funds raised through this public fundraising drive will go towards supporting these communities with improved access to food, clean water, health and nutrition services as well as longer term solutions such as livelihood skills training, provision of drought-resistant seeds, educational and child protection support.”

The different amounts of donations will be beneficial in providing these much-needed resources for the communities.

  • $10 can provide 2 people with 15 litres of water for one month
  • $20 can provide 3 school children with lunches for one month
  • $50 can provide a person with cereals, pulses, oil and salt for one month to ensure they meet the 2,100 kcal per day.
  • $100 can provide a sheep or goat to revive household asset base and provide immediate food (milk)
  • $250 can treat an acutely malnourished child

World Vision Singapore will deploy giving machines at two malls – Great World and Parkway Parade – from 1 November for a period of two months. Each giving machine will include items of food, clean water, health and nutrition services that the public can purchase with a donation of $10, $20, $50 or $100 to give towards the vulnerable communities in East Africa to battle the hunger crisis.

You can find the giving machines at the following locations in the months of November and December.
