GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — At the opening of the 7th World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) on September 27, GAC Group Chairman and President Feng Xingya delivered a speech entitled “User-Defined Green, Co-Creating a New Future for Mobility,” sharing GAC’s strategic thinking and practice in green, low-carbon transformation. Feng underlined that “user-defined” green means maintaining a user-centric approach—transforming cutting-edge technology into targeted solutions that directly address user needs and make green mobility both practical and precise.

GAC’s Feng Xingya: User-Centric Green Solutions for a Sustainable Future

Drawing on a deep understanding of user preferences and recognized as a Fortune Global 500 company for 14 consecutive years and a Fortune China ESG Impact List company for four years, GAC launched its “GLASS Initiative” as early as 2021. This plan establishes a comprehensive lifecycle carbon management system. In green technology, GAC pursues parallel development across BEV, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended platforms to deliver diverse clean mobility options. Green products prioritize safety and smart user experience. On the green manufacturing front, GAC upholds sustainable, intelligent, and high-standard production, as demonstrated by earning three awards in the 2025 China Automotive Quality Research (AQR). For the green ecosystem, GAC is accelerating its “26 Energy Action” strategy and integrating solar energy generation, battery storage, fast charging stations, and battery swapping services to support a full-service network.

GAC’s green strategy is focused not only on China but on the global market. Committed to being a creator of low-carbon, green, and intelligent mobility for a better life, GAC is advancing its “One GAC 2.0” strategy to bring its mature new energy and ESG expertise to global users. At the Fortune Global 500 Summit, Feng stated that the path forward is new energy and low-carbon development, with China taking the global lead. Currently, GAC has established five KD plants globally, with plans to reach ten next year, accelerating the shift from vehicle exports to localized production. Going forward, GAC’s globalization strategy extends beyond simply exporting products. The company is committed to the principles of in Local, for Local, integrated locally, serving locally, and contributing locally—delivering smart green mobility solutions tailored to users in every market, realizing the goals of “going in” and “moving up” in the global automotive landscape.

National Geographic Society and Chubb Charitable Foundation Partner to Protect Critical Ecosystems Through Launch of Blue Boundaries Program

Made possible by a seven-year, multi-million-dollar commitment from the Chubb Charitable Foundation — representing the largest single grant in the Society’s 137-year history — the groundbreaking global initiative aims to preserve Earth’s vital ecosystems at the intersection of land and water

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The National Geographic Society and the Chubb Charitable Foundation announced today the launch of Blue Boundaries, a landmark partnership aimed at driving transformational change through science, exploration, conservation and protection of Earth’s ecosystems at the convergence of land and water. This partnership is made possible by a seven-year, multi-million-dollar grant from the Chubb Charitable Foundation that will focus on safeguarding three of Earth’s most vital ecosystems — freshwater wetlands, coastal systems and reefs — through on-the-ground and on-the-water research, compelling storytelling and experiential education. This significant investment by Chubb, the premiere provider of risk protection and risk mitigation solutions, represents the largest single grant in the Society’s 137-year history.

The National Geographic Society and Chubb are partnering together to drive transformational change for vital ecosystems at the intersection of land and water.

Many of the world’s most biodiverse and productive ecosystems thrive in the dynamic interface where land meets water. These “Blue Boundary” environments — freshwater wetlands, coastal systems and reefs — form a web of deeply connected ecosystems that balance, depend on and sustain one another, creating stability and resilience. They provide vital habitat for nearly half of all species on Earth, including iconic wildlife like jaguars, sea otters, beavers, grizzly bears, sharks and penguins. These ecosystems support fisheries, clean water, and shoreline integrity that nourish and protect billions of people, while also playing a critical role in absorbing and storing carbon to regulate the climate.

Together, these boundary areas are foundational to the health of the planet on local, regional and global scales, providing essential services that support both people and nature.

“Protecting nature requires on-the-ground science elevated through powerful storytelling on a scale that matches the magnitude of this global moment — and Blue Boundaries is our next bold step to meet it,” said Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society. “Our partnership with Chubb funds scientific research and conservation to deepen our understanding of these life-sustaining ecosystems and drive impact around the globe.”

“This deeply inspiring collaboration has the potential to leave a lasting legacy — positively impacting millions of people and species who depend on these ecosystems for survival and prosperity,” said Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of Chubb Limited and Chair, Chubb Charitable Foundation. “Blue Boundaries will be a catalyst for groundbreaking research and exploration of vital ecosystems, helping us do what we do best at Chubb: protecting what matters most.”

Led by a cohort of National Geographic Explorers, the Blue Boundaries program will encompass scientific research, conservation work, education initiatives and impact storytelling to address the planet’s most pressing challenges. Working in partnership with local communities, these Explorers will help co-create innovative and scalable solutions that are informed by science and grounded in local knowledge.

Blue Boundaries will be implemented in a phased approach, with strategic overlap throughout the partnership, starting with freshwater wetlands and then moving to coastal systems, culminating in reef environments. Through this approach, the program will mirror the downstream flow of water that connects life and ecological processes, underscoring the interdependence of these environments. All three phases will be guided by core scientific principles, which focus on: understanding and supporting a rich variety of life, creating a healthy carbon balance, strengthening nature’s ability to bounce back from disruption, and ensuring people and nature can thrive together.

Through Blue Boundaries, the National Geographic Society and Chubb will illuminate and elevate the instrumental role these ecosystems play for people and the environment, shift public perception towards a deeper appreciation of nature’s intrinsic value and advance strategies essential for habitat restoration and global resilience.

More details of the Blue Boundaries partnership are available at the National Geographic Society and Chubb.

Follow the partnership’s progress through the @insidenatgeo and @chubbglobal social media accounts.

Populix Research: Understanding How The Southeast Asian Tigers Plan Their Excursion

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Nicknamed the Southeast Asian tigers, Singaporeans are known to be a “tenacious hunter”. They are disciplined, hardworking, competitive, and success-oriented. However, even a dedicated hunter requires occasional downtime. Traveling, both within the country and abroad, often comes as a way for them to relax. Through its latest research, Populix, an Indonesian tech-based research company, took a deeper look into the travel habits of Singaporean tourists, detailing their considerations, frequency of travel, and preferences.

Infographic on how Singaporeans plan their excursion
Infographic on how Singaporeans plan their excursion

Dr Timothy Astandu, CEO & Co-Founder of Populix, explained, “Behind their hardworking nature, our research finds that Singaporeans perceive traveling as a core element in their life. While it tends to be occasional rather than frequent, a majority of Singaporeans are willing to pay for a high-quality travel experience, provided it aligns with their schedules.”

Most Singaporeans occasionally travel for leisure at least once every two to six months domestically, and once or twice a year internationally via plane. End of year, between October and December, is a popular time for travel, though many also maintain flexible schedules with no fixed travel plans.

Singaporeans allocate an average budget of SGD 820 per person for short trips, with the majority spending between SGD 400-1,000. More than half prefer staying at four- or five-star hotels, while budget options or homestays remain niche. These findings indicate a readiness to pay for convenience and that comfort is a clear priority.

Many Singaporeans manage travel budgets accordingly through regular savings, while others utilize general savings or adjust their lifestyles. Promotions and flexible payment options play a smaller but notable role.

“In contrast to the solitary nature of tigers, only 5% of these Southeast Asian Tigers travel solo. More than a third shared their trip with their partner, and another third prefers family and kids as companions. This proves that traveling serves as a primary way to strengthen their bonds with family and connect with loved ones,” highlighted Astandu.

Most of them prefer a relaxing and slow-paced pastime as a way to relax and de-stress. Their destination choices are heavily influenced by attractions and activities, safety and cleanliness, also affordability. These factors lead them toward destinations that offer comfort and simplicity, such as nature escapes, shopping centres, and family-friendly destinations.

“Populix found that around 87% Singaporeans see travelling as an essential part of their life. It goes beyond relaxation. It is a central means of reward, connection, and cultural growth. Making holidays vital for well-being rather than rare luxuries,” concluded Astandu.

The survey of “Singaporean Outbound Tourism & Opportunities for Indonesia” report was conducted on 21-26 August 2025, among 500 Singaporeans. The respondents are equally split by gender and largely 26-45 years old, representing Singapore’s working population. Over half are married with children, offering family perspectives, while most are from higher-income brackets, reflecting financially independent and influential views.
