Oricell Therapeutics Closes $110 Million Pre-IPO Financing to Accelerate Global Development of Solid Tumor CAR-T Therapies

SHANGHAI, April 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Oricell Therapeutics Holdings Limited (“Oricell”), a global clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering innovative cancer immunotherapies, today announced the cumulative closing of a pre-IPO financing round in excess of $110 million. The round was co-led by Vivo Capital, Beijing Medical and Health Care Industry Investment Fund, Qiming Venture Partners, and a leading global healthcare fund. The syndicate included an international sovereign wealth fund, E-Town Capital, Luxin Venture Capital, NGS Super, Elikon Investment, and Talon Capital.

Proceeds will be strategically allocated to accelerate Oricell’s global expansion and clinical development, while strengthening its technological capabilities and paving the way to capital market milestones.

As a frontrunner in cell therapy, OriCell is focused on engineering CAR-Ts with global clinical impact, having already secured confirmatory proof-of-concept (POC) data across multiple pipelines. By leveraging its proprietary triad: the Ori®Ab antibody screening and engineering platform, the Ori®Armoring functional enhancement platform, and the OnGo (Fast) rapid CMC manufacturing expertise, the company has built a differentiated portfolio that positions it at the vanguard of the global CAR-T race.

OriCell’s lead asset, Ori-C101, is a GPC3-targeted autologous CAR-T therapy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The study captured the attitudes and behaviours of over 5,000 finance professionals and crypto investors across Australia, Brazil, India, Singapore, South Korea, UAE, UK and the US. Conducted in partnership with the global consumer audience insights platform GWI, the report fills a significant gap in existing market research by focusing specifically on the financially literate crypto investors: those working within and alongside the financial industry.

Regulation is recruitment

Yet across all respondent groups, crypto is viewed as a long-term strategic asset with strong upside potential, rather than a short-term trade. As regulatory clarity improves, the market’s next growth phase is widely expected to be led by institutions.

Among crypto holders who identify Musk as their strongest positive influence, 77% report high optimism toward crypto’s future as an asset. The study reflects how public figures are capable of simultaneously amplifying enthusiasm and undermining trust.

FDA Accepts NDA for TLX101-Px (Pixclara®)

MELBOURNE, Australia and INDIANAPOLIS, April 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: TLX, NASDAQ: TLX, “Telix”) today announces that the United States (U.S.) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted the Company’s resubmitted New Drug Application (NDA) for TLX101-Px[1], (Pixclara®[2], Floretyrosine F 18 or 18F-FET), an investigational PET[3] agent for the imaging of glioma (brain cancer), and has assigned a PDUFA[4] goal date of September 11, 2026.

The approval of TLX101-Px will fulfil a significant unmet medical need for the characterization of recurrent or progressive glioma from treatment related changes in both adult and pediatric patients[5]. Neuroimaging of glioma with 18F-FET is already broadly recommended in international clinical practice guidelines – including NCCN Guidelines®[6] – and TLX101-Px has been granted Orphan Drug[7] and Fast Track[8] designations by the FDA.

TLX101-Px is a PET imaging candidate, which has been granted Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations by the FDA for the characterization of recurrent or progressive glioma from treatment related changes. TLX101-Px targets membrane transport proteins known as L-type amino acid transporters 1 and 2 (LAT1 and LAT2). This enables TLX101-Px to be potentially utilized as a patient selection and response assessment tool for Telix’s LAT1-targeting therapy candidate TLX101-Tx (iodofalan 131I), currently under investigation in the pivotal IPAX-BrIGHT trial in patients with recurrent glioblastoma[10]. TLX101-Px and TLX101-Tx have not received marketing authorizations in any jurisdiction.

About gliomas

Gliomas are diffusely infiltrative tumors that affect the surrounding brain tissue. They are the most common form of central nervous system (CNS) cancer that originates from glial cells, accounting for approximately 30% of all brain and CNS tumors and 80% of all malignant brain tumors[11]. In the U.S., there are approximately 24,000 new glioma cases diagnosed annually[12]. Glioblastoma (GBM) is a high-grade glioma and the most common and aggressive form of primary brain cancer. The mainstay of treatment for GBM comprises surgical resection, followed by combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite such treatment, recurrence occurs in almost all patients[13], with an expected survival duration of 12-15 months from diagnosis[14]

Open Source, After Mythos

ARMONK, N.Y., April 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — There is a pattern we keep seeing in technology. When software moves from product to platform and then from platform to infrastructure, the rules change.

At the product stage, control can feel like an advantage. Closed systems move fast. They tightly manage the experience. They concentrate value inside a single company. That approach can work at the product stage. But once a technology becomes foundational, once other systems, institutions, and markets begin to rely on it, the bar shifts. At infrastructure scale, openness stops being ideological and starts being practical.

AI is crossing that threshold now.

Anthropic’s limited preview of Claude Mythos brings that reality into sharper focus. The company says the model can discover and exploit software vulnerabilities at a level that few human experts can match, and it has launched a gated initiative, Project Glasswing, to put those capabilities into defenders’ hands first. What matters most is not just the model itself, but what it signals: AI is no longer just a tool people experiment with. It is becoming embedded in how organizations secure systems, write code, make decisions, and create value.

At that point, the core question changes. The issue is no longer only what these models can do. It becomes how they are built, governed, inspected, and improved over time.

History is consistent on this point. As systems grow in importance and complexity, closed development becomes harder to defend. No single company can anticipate every failure mode, every adversarial use, or every operational requirement. Restricting access to powerful systems is an understandable instinct. It can look like caution. But at infrastructure scale, security improves more often through scrutiny than through concealment.

That is the enduring lesson of open source software.

Open source does not eliminate risk. It changes how risk is managed. It allows more researchers, developers, and defenders to examine systems, test assumptions, surface weaknesses, and harden code under real‑world conditions. In security, visibility is not the enemy of resilience. It is often a prerequisite for it.

This matters even more in the age of AI. If frontier models are increasingly capable of finding vulnerabilities, writing exploits, and reshaping the security landscape, we should be cautious about concentrating understanding of those systems inside a small number of companies. Critical technologies tend to be safer when more people can inspect them, challenge them, and improve them.

This is also why open systems do not destroy value. They move it. One of the oldest misconceptions about open source is that it commoditizes innovation. In practice, it usually pushes competition up the stack. As common foundations mature, value shifts toward implementation, reliability, orchestration, trust, and domain expertise. The winners are not the companies that merely own the base layer, but those that know how to apply it best.

We have seen this before with operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling. Open foundations expanded participation, accelerated improvement, and created larger markets on top. AI is likely to follow the same path. Even in enterprise technology, leaders increasingly view open source as strategically important, especially for infrastructure modernization and emerging capabilities like AI.

There is another reason openness matters. Who gets to participate shapes what gets built. Narrow access leads to narrow perspectives. Broad access enables more researchers, startups, governments, and institutions to influence how technology evolves and where it is applied. That does not just drive innovation. It builds legitimacy and adaptability.

The Mythos moment should give us pause, but not for the most obvious reason. Yes, the capabilities are striking. Yes, the risks are real. The deeper implication is structural. Once AI becomes critical infrastructure, opacity can no longer be the organizing principle for safety.

For decades, the most reliable model for secure software has been open foundations combined with serious governance, active maintenance, and broad scrutiny. As AI enters its infrastructure phase, that same logic increasingly applies to the models themselves. The more critical the technology, the stronger the case for openness.

If AI is becoming foundational, then openness is no longer a debate. It is a design requirement.

eFuels SEA Launches Platform to Develop eFuels Projects Across Southeast Asia Using Infinium Technology

Beyond AlphaGo, Can AI Earn Trust Even in Human Context?

GreenSpot Open Test to examine whether AI can show meaningful progress within human context through seven handicap-adjustment games against professional players

NEW YORK, April 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A handicap-adjustment match between a Go AI and professional players takes place. GreenSpot Open Test is the public handicap-adjustment test event preceding the main event. The event takes place in Seoul on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 9:30 AM KST (UTC+9), and consists of seven handicap-adjustment games against different professional players affiliated with the Korea Baduk Association.

The players attend the venue in person and play via Online-Go.com using a designated on-site device. The match is broadcast live on YouTube, with live commentary by Cho Hyeyeon 9p, a former world No. 1 in women’s Go.

The match is conducted under Chinese rules, with no komi and time settings of 5-minute main time + 3 periods of 30-second byo-yomi. The AI is operated on an on-site single-GPU system using RTX 4090. The initial handicap is set for the purposes of the test and disclosed on match day. Handicap is adjusted by one stone according to the result of each game, within a range from even to 9 stones.

Participants are selected from professional players considered to be above average in level, specifically those who rank in the top 35% to 50% of Go Ratings, corresponding to 313th to 446th in the Go Ratings list posted on March 30. For professionals not listed in Go Ratings, the corresponding Korea Baduk Association March ranking range of 116th to 183rd applies. The identities of participating professionals are not disclosed; the eligible ranking ranges are disclosed.

Game fees and win bonuses are paid in KRW. The game fee is KRW 2,000,000 per game, and the table below shows the handicap-based win bonuses paid in addition to the KRW 2,000,000 game fee.

An official referee dispatched by the Korea Baduk Association referees the match. The referee verifies the participating professionals on site, confirms the on-site single-GPU system for the AI, and conducts anti-cheating inspections.

Ten years ago, AlphaGo showed in a remarkably clear way that AI could surpass the highest human level in Go. For many, that moment suggested more than a technical achievement: it raised the expectation that AI could help overcome many more difficult problems. Yet ten years later, AI remains surrounded not only by admiration, but by recurring skepticism and repeated talk of bubbles. Today’s AI systems can produce results that would once have seemed extraordinary, but they continue to display failures that are difficult to ignore, and that continuing gap keeps alive doubts about whether their more serious limitations can truly be overcome.

One possible reason is that optimization within AI’s own training world does not automatically become meaningful within the human world. AI is actually used, judged, and given meaning in the human world. If AI is to have genuine significance, that significance must ultimately be established within the context of human beings. Go AI learns primarily through self-play against AI-like opponents, and the “best move” produced in that setting is not necessarily the move that remains most meaningful under human judgment, the instability of human follow-up play, or uneven conditions. More broadly, most of today’s AI systems are intended from the outset to function within human context, but the problems that must be solved within that context are far more ambiguous and complex than Go, a game of fixed rules and perfect information. As a result, the way objectives are set for current AI systems, their training methods, and their evaluation schemes may still fail to fully capture that context. That difference is one reason why today’s AI continues to display repeated failures and limitations in real use despite its impressive achievements.

That is why this project focuses on handicap matches against human professionals. Handicap Go against humans is a particularly appropriate setting in which to test whether an approach different from optimization within a self-contained world centered on self-play can lead to meaningful progress within human context as well. AI must operate not only from a disadvantaged position, but within a setting shaped by human error, human psychology, and the limits of follow-up play. In that sense, the question is not only how strong AI is under even conditions, but whether it can still show meaningful progress where the context itself changes the meaning of optimality. GreenSpot Open Test uses handicap-adjustment games against human professionals under a single-GPU condition as the setting in which to examine whether AI can show meaningful progress within human context, beyond the self-play-centered world in which Go AI is primarily optimized, and whether such progress can still be demonstrated under very limited computational resources. If meaningful progress is shown in that setting, it may provide firmer grounds for a more hopeful view of AI’s future.
