KuCoin Among Top Exchanges for Derivatives Market Share Growth in February: CoinDesk Data

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The global crypto derivatives market experienced a modest slowdown in February, even as competition among leading exchanges intensified, according to the latest CoinDesk Data Exchange Review – February 2026.

Conducted on a monthly basis, the report provides a comprehensive overview of the crypto exchange landscape, offering insights for crypto market participants, institutional investors, analysts, and regulators seeking to better understand market structure and exchange performance.

Derivatives Trading Volume Falls Amid Low Volatility

According to the report, derivatives trading volumes declined 2.41% in February to $4.11 trillion, marking the lowest monthly level since October 2024.

The decrease in derivatives activity coincided with relatively low market volatility, as most major digital assets traded within narrow price ranges throughout the month. Lower volatility typically reduces speculative trading and hedging activity, leading to softer derivatives volumes across exchanges.

Despite the overall decline in trading activity, the derivatives segment continued to dominate the crypto trading landscape, accounting for 73.2% of total market volume in February, slightly up from 73.1% in January.

Exchange Competition Intensifies in Derivatives Market Share

While overall derivatives activity softened, the report shows that competition among exchanges for derivatives market share continued to intensify. Among major platforms, KuCoin ranks among top exchanges in market share growth.

According to CoinDesk Data, KuCoin recorded a 0.20% increase in derivatives market share, placing it among the top-performing exchanges for derivatives growth during the month.

The gain highlights continued competition among mid-tier global exchanges to capture market share even during periods of reduced trading activity. Several other exchanges also saw moderate gains in derivatives market share during the month.

Market Structure Continues to Evolve

The February data reflects a broader structural trend in the crypto exchange sector: even during periods of subdued market volatility, exchanges continue competing through liquidity depth, product expansion, and derivatives infrastructure improvements.

As derivatives remain the dominant segment of crypto trading, shifts in market share are increasingly viewed as an indicator of platform competitiveness and trading ecosystem maturity.

With derivatives accounting for nearly three-quarters of overall trading activity, the exchange landscape continues to evolve as platforms seek to attract both retail and institutional traders through deeper liquidity, product innovation, and improved trading infrastructure.

Two Moon Bear Cubs Seized from Wildlife Traders in Luang Prabang

Two Asiatic black bear cubs, just two months old, are recovering at a Luang Prabang wildlife sanctuary after law enforcement confiscated them from illegal traders on the morning of 11 March.

The cubs, also known as moon bears, were being offered for sale when authorities intervened and called in a rescue team from Free the Bears’ Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary, who mobilised immediately to collect them.

At two months old, the cubs should still be in a forest den with their mother. She is unlikely to be alive.

“Sadly, the reality in cases like this is that the mother is usually killed so the cubs can be taken,” says Matt Hunt, CEO of Free the Bears. “These cubs are still incredibly fragile, weighing less than 3 kilograms each. Our team at Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary will be caring for them day and night over the coming months.”

The pair are the organisation’s 169th and 170th rescues in Laos, and the first of 2026. Carers are now feeding them milk formula every few hours around the clock. If the cubs cannot eventually return to the wild, they may live under sanctuary care for 30 years or more.

The rescue comes shortly before the first anniversary of the closure of Laos’ last bear bile farm. Traders typically keep bears in cages barely larger than their bodies and extract bile from their gallbladders for use in traditional medicine, despite the active compound being synthetically producible in laboratories.

Free the Bears has rescued more than 1,000 bears across Southeast Asia over the past 30 years and runs the largest bear sanctuary network in the region, with facilities in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Authorities in Luang Prabang have announced restrictions on temporary roadside structures and commercial setups along Sisavangvong Road during Lao New Year celebrations from 14 to 16 April.

According to the notice, the measures apply to businesses, residents, and individuals operating along Sisavangvong Road, the main route used for festival activities in the historic city.

Officials said tables, chairs, tents, water stations, and other temporary structures will not be allowed along the roadside during the three-day celebration. The installation of large sound systems, decorative lighting, advertising banners, and promotional flags along the road is also prohibited.

Authorities also said commercial activities set up directly along the roadside, including promotional or profit-driven events in front of shops or homes facing Sisavangvong Road, will not be permitted during the festival period.

The restrictions are intended to keep the main festival route clear, safe, and accessible for public celebrations, while preserving the traditional atmosphere of Lao New Year in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

Residents may still celebrate in front of their homes with family members, provided gatherings do not block pedestrian walkways or occupy the roadway.

The notice warns that individuals or businesses violating the regulations may face warnings, fines, or temporary confiscation of sound equipment and other materials, with serious cases subject to legal action.

To enforce the measures, the city public security office, the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism, and village authorities in Xieng Mouane and Choumkhong have been assigned to monitor the area and ensure compliance.

Authorities are calling on residents and businesses to cooperate in maintaining order and safety during Lao New Year celebrations in the heritage city.

eSignGlobal Empowers OpenClaw with Automated E-Signatures via New ‘esign-automation’ Skill

Aphranel Named to Forbes China Beauty 100 List

SHANGHAI, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Aphranel, a China-origin regenerative medical aesthetics brand under the company SHANGHAI MOYANG BIOTECHNOLOGY, has been named to the Third Forbes China Beauty 100 list, published by Forbes China, which recognizes brands in China’s beauty and medical aesthetics sector for their innovation and growth potential.

The recognition reflects Aphranel’s continued investment in product development, brand building, and industry standards.

The list highlights brands demonstrating market performance, innovation, industry influence, and long-term development potential across China’s beauty industry.

Commitment to Long-Term Product Development and Medical Integrity

As a medical aesthetics brand focused on CaHA (calcium hydroxyapatite) regenerative materials, Aphranel has maintained a long-term product development approach centered on scientific research and clinical validation. The company continues to invest in material structure optimization, clinical research, and long-term safety data.

The Aphranel CaHA facial injectable filler features a structural system composed of 30% CaHA microspheres and 70% CMC gel carrier, providing immediate structural support while stimulating collagen regeneration over time. The product incorporates the ACD-MT™ patented microsphere technology and PCD-ETT™ patented CMC gel technology.

With microspheres sized approximately 30–35 μm and a raspberry-shaped surface with a through-hole structure, the material supports cell adhesion and tissue integration.

With a G’ value of approximately 5,500 Pa, the filler is designed to provide stable structural support during injection. As the material gradually degrades, trace calcium ions released during the process participate in tissue metabolism, contributing to gradual and natural-looking results over time.

“Aphranel Poetics of Time”: A Brand Philosophy for Medical Aesthetics

Beyond product development, Aphranel has introduced its “Aphranel Poetics of Time” brand philosophy. The concept reflects the company’s view that aesthetic treatments should align with natural biological processes, enabling gradual and sustainable outcomes rather than immediate transformation.

In line with this philosophy, the company continues to invest in physician education initiatives, including academic exchange programs incorporating anatomical research, as well as imaging-based clinical support designed to assist physicians with injection-layer assessment and long-term outcome evaluation.

Industry observers note that as China’s medical aesthetics sector becomes increasingly regulated and professionally standardized, brands emphasizing compliance, long-term clinical data accumulation, and professional education are gaining broader industry recognition.

Building on this recognition, Aphranel plans to expand investment in materials research, clinical collaboration, and physician education, while continuing to strengthen the connection between scientific innovation and clinical practice to support physician and patient confidence.

Lazada Indonesia: 6 Eid Al-Fitr Shopping Ideas, from Homecoming Trips to Home Needs

As Eid Al-Fitr approaches, Lazada Indonesia shares product recommendations to support smoother homecoming journeys and festive family gatherings. From travel gear to home essentials, these items help make the holiday preparation easier.

JAKARTA, Indonesia, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As Eid al-Fitr approaches, Indonesians begin preparing various necessities for their mudik (homecoming) journeys as well as for gatherings with family. eCommerce has become a practical option for consumers to find and purchase a wide range of products that support their activities during the holiday period.

Erika Agustine, Commercial Director of Lazada Indonesia, said that demand across several categories—including automotive, home appliances, and electronics—typically peaks ahead of Eid. This is driven by two key moments: the mudik journey and the Eid celebration spent with family at home.

“Consumers are looking for products that support smoother travel while also meeting household needs during family gatherings. eCommerce has become a preferred shopping destination as consumers can easily access a wide selection of authentic, high-quality products from trusted brands. Lazada Indonesia is supporting this demand through a range of attractive offers, including discounts of up to 95%,” she added.

To help consumers prepare for Eid more conveniently, Erika shared several product recommendations that can support mudik journeys and activities during the Eid celebrations.

A Reliable Motorcycle for the Homecoming Journey

Motorcycles remain a popular transportation choice for many mudik travelers as they are more agile in navigating traffic along busy routes. They allow for greater flexibility, especially when traveling through congested areas.

Newer models such as the New Honda Beat Deluxe now come equipped with technologies like smart keyless systems that enhance security with anti-theft and immobilizer features, while also offering greater ease of use for everyday riding. Purchasing vehicles through eCommerce platforms can also provide additional benefits such as special promotions and flexible payment options, including through a combination of cash or credit card.

Portable Blender for Fresh Juice Anywhere

During long mudik trips, maintaining healthy food and drink intake is important. A portable blender can be a practical tool for preparing fresh juice anytime.

Portable blenders such as the Ninja Blast Portable Blender feature a compact design, leak-proof functionality, and rechargeable battery power, making them easy to carry wherever you go. In addition to preparing juice, portable blenders can also be used to blend baby food while traveling or when staying at family homes in one’s hometown.

A Washing Machine to Save Time and Effort

For some families, the Eid holiday also means managing household tasks without the help of domestic assistants who have returned to their hometowns. A twin-tub washing machine can help keep laundry routines practical and efficient.

With a large capacity that can handle laundry for the whole family at once and relatively low electricity consumption, twin-tub washing machines such as those from Sanken help save both time and energy costs. Their built-in spin dryer also helps clothes dry faster, even during the rainy season.

A Smartwatch to Stay Active During the Holidays

The Eid holidays do not necessarily mean taking a break from exercise. For fitness enthusiasts, a sports smartwatch can help maintain workout routines even during vacation.

Smartwatches such as the Garmin Forerunner typically feature GPS and activity tracking capabilities that monitor distance, time, speed, and pace during runs or workouts. With this data, users can continue tracking their fitness progress while enjoying the holiday break.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones for Entertainment on the Go

Homecoming journeys on public transportation such as trains or airplanes are often accompanied by crowded and noisy environments. Headphones such as Sony Noise-Cancelling Headphones can help reduce surrounding noise, making the journey more pleasant.

In addition to enhancing the experience of listening to music or watching videos during travel, noise-cancelling features help users stay focused without being disturbed by the bustle at stations or airports. As a result, long trips can feel more relaxed and enjoyable.

A Multi-Function Hair Styler for a Polished Look

For many people, Eid is a moment to look their best when visiting family and relatives. A multifunction hair styler can help create various hairstyles more conveniently.

Hair stylers such as the Dyson Airwrap can be used to dry, straighten, or curl hair, allowing users to easily adjust their hairstyle according to the occasion. Choosing a hair styler that comes with a carry case can also make it easier to bring along while traveling and keep the device protected in luggage.

Closing the series of recommendations, Erika reminded consumers to plan their purchases ahead of time so that products can arrive when needed.

“Consumers can now take advantage of instant or same-day delivery options to ensure their orders arrive on time. With the wide delivery network of eCommerce platforms, products can even be shipped directly to one’s hometown. This approach is also more convenient as travelers do not have to carry gifts themselves during the journey,” Erika concluded.
