DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and delivering Lao lessons effectively, reflecting strong understanding of Lao language lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Committing to ongoing professional development by acting upon observation and professional feedback and attending professional development opportunities provided by the school
- Adhering to the employee code of conduct and utilising safeguarding procedures to protect the welfare of learners
- Supporting the Secondary International Curriculum collaborating with international staff in supervision, resourcing, and supporting learning in the classroom
- Working with heads of department to ensure that Ministry of Education and PBIS standards are met in relation to safeguarding, safety and curriculum delivery
- Supporting specialist teachers during delivery of their lessons by actively supporting them and providing additional support to identified students.
- Contributing to offsite activities related to the following key school events, each occurring on separate days; Christmas Wonderland, field trips and the school concert.
- Assessing and marking pupil learning, and liaising with parents about academic and personal progress, including during parent teacher conferences
- Managing behaviour and ensuring that the learning environment is safe and
- regulated
- Run or support a club for our ECA programme as and when required.

ESSENTIAL TRAITS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in Lao language (both spoken and written).
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.
DESIRABLE TRAITS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Secondary Education/ Education, or comparable training
- Prior experience in teaching Lao language or working in a bilingual education setting is preferred
- Fluency in English language (both spoken and written)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to interact thoughtfully and empathetically with learners
- A firm understanding of teaching practice and lesson delivery
- Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment.
- Knowledge of the Lao Curriculum, UK curriculum.
- An understanding of, and a commitment to, continuous professional development. This includes your duties and responsibilities around the safeguarding of children
