Japan Officially Opens Its Market to Colombian Chicken

Colombia achieves its first export of chicken meat to Japan, marking a historic milestone in the opening of Asian markets for the country’s agribusiness sector.

BOGOTÁ, Colombia, Oct. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Thanks to the joint efforts of ProColombia and the private sector, Colombia has completed its first export of chicken meat to Japan—one of the world’s most demanding markets in terms of sanitary and quality standards. This achievement represents a decisive step in diversifying Colombia’s export portfolio toward Asia and positions the Colombian poultry industry as a reliable supplier on the global stage.

This milestone is the result of years of technical, sanitary, and diplomatic collaboration, culminating in the first shipment of 12 tons of poultry meat by Cargill Food Latin America (Pollos El Bucanero S.A.)

According to Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia, “this success is strengthened by the bonds of trust and cooperation built during Expo Osaka 2025, where Colombia reinforced its presence and reaffirmed to Japan its commitment to offering a modern, safe, and competitive agribusiness industry.”

The process to gain Japan’s sanitary approval for Colombian chicken began ten years ago, when Japan issued the phytosanitary protocol allowing the product’s potential entry into its market. On July 28, 2023, Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) lifted initial restrictions, and on March 13, 2025, the country officially removed all remaining barriers to imports.

To achieve this breakthrough, ProColombia‘s office in Tokyo coordinated closely with the Embassy of Colombia in Japan, Colombian sanitary authorities, and the National Federation of Poultry Farmers of Colombia (Fenavi), along with MAFF and Japan’s Animal Quarantine Service. The agency also facilitated opportunities with Colombian companies such as Cargill and Pollos El Dorado since 2020, and supported Fenavi’s participation in Foodex Japan 2024, under the national brand Colombia, the Country of Beauty.”

Colombian Poultry Sector Advances in Egg Exports

In addition to chicken meat, ProColombia has been supporting the internationalization of table eggs and processed products, fostering business connections and market intelligence tools that have already enabled the export of over 170 containers.

This progress is part of Colombia’s national strategy to diversify markets and enhance the sophistication of its agribusiness supply, with Japan identified as a priority destination for strengthening Colombia’s reputation for quality, sustainability, and reliability.

Xinhua Finance — Fengjie Navel Oranges Expand Global Reach With 10,000-Ton Export Deal Signed in Singapore

CHONGQING, China, Oct. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Fengjie navel oranges are headed for supermarket shelves overseas, marking a new chapter in agricultural trade between China and Singapore. The 2025 Global Sourcing Event for Fengjie Navel Oranges took place in Singapore on October 15, where producers from Fengjie County in Chongqing signed multiple export agreements with buyers from Singapore and Malaysia. The total export volume surpassed 10,000 tons, signaling international demand for China’s growing fruit sector and pointing to the expanding agricultural partnership between the two countries.

At the signing ceremony, witnessed by County Mayor and Deputy Secretary of the Fengjie County Committee Wu Tao, and representatives from participating companies, five Fengjie-based exporters—including Chongqing Kuimen International Import and Export—signed procurement agreements with several Singaporean firms, among them Century Global Pte Ltd and Everfresh Fruits Import Trading. The deals cover Fengjie navel oranges as well as Xiangtanzi-branded condiments, extending the region’s export portfolio to include both fresh produce and specialty food products. Officials said the agreements highlight how high-quality agricultural goods from Chongqing are becoming part of global supply chains, reflecting the region’s integration into international markets.

Why are Fengjie navel oranges finding a foothold abroad? In a presentation at the event, Mayor Wu described Fengjie as being in the heart of the Yangtze River’s Three Gorges Reservoir region—one of the world’s eight major navel orange production areas and China’s highest-yielding county per hectare. The county has developed roughly 25,500 hectares (approx. 63,000 acres) of orchards, producing an annual harvest of 507,000 tons. The industry’s annual output value exceeds 6.5 billion yuan (approx. USD 890 million), with a brand valuation of 38.17 billion yuan (approx. USD 5.2 billion), according to local government data, making Fengjie’s oranges a flagship product for Chongqing’s agricultural sector.

The fruit’s appeal lies in its distinctive balance of flavor and texture. Fengjie navel oranges are known for ripening on the tree longer than most varieties, giving them a pronounced sweetness balanced by mild acidity, a soft texture, and high nutritional value. Growers credit this to centuries-old cultivation traditions combined with modern farming science and the meticulous care of local producers. The fruit’s “golden ratio” sugar-to-acid balance of 20-to-1—roughly 80% sweet and 20% tart—creates a flavor profile prized by consumers the world over.

Prior to the signing event, business matchmaking sessions helped connect Chinese producers with Southeast Asian distributors. Companies discussed product sizing, packaging, and logistics to align with local retail standards. “I hadn’t heard of Fengjie navel oranges before,” said Francis Chua, director of Century Global Pte Ltd. “But after tasting them, I’m confident they’ll resonate with our customers. We’re planning promotional partnerships with major supermarket chains to introduce them to the market.”

Where Tech Meets Soul: CASEKOO Debuts ‘Tribute to Artists’ Series at West Bund Museum Art Store

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — CASEKOO, the innovative tech accessories brand, announced its debut at the West Bund Museum Art Store with the launch of the “Tribute to Artists” series in Shanghai, China. This exclusive collection marks a strategic entry into the art world, positioning CASEKOO not merely as a gadget brand, but as an active participant in the cultural conversation.

CASEKOO Debuts at the West Bund Museum Art Store
CASEKOO Debuts at the West Bund Museum Art Store

A Dialogue Between Tech and Art

The collection showcases three exquisite cases featuring reimagined portraits of legendary artists—Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and Salvador Dalí—each brought to life through CASEKOO’s distinctive aesthetic vision. More than static tributes, these designs are dynamic reinterpretations that embody CASEKOO’s signature craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and deep emotional resonance.

The dialogue deepens with a fourth design, a collaboration with acclaimed artist Leah Han, which offers a poignant meditation on feminine resilience. Her work portrays a female figure protected by a jellyfish-shaped helmet, creating a visual metaphor for the balance between inner softness and external reality. Inside, floating jellyfish and flowers symbolize pure, blossoming emotion, while external abstract triangles represent societal pressures. The inclusion of moons as weeping eyes adds a layer of poetic vulnerability, resulting in a design that celebrates strength through sensitivity, all rendered with a restrained and powerful beauty.

A Long-term Commitment

The entire Tribute to Artists series is the embodiment of CASEKOO’s philosophy: a long-term vision for masterful craft over short-lived trends. This means consciously forgoing the pursuit of “viral hits” in favor of an uncompromising mastery of materials and finishes. It is this rigorous approach that transforms each case from a simple accessory into a lasting object of integrity. More profoundly, the brand moves beyond superficial prints by cultivating authentic collaborations with admired artists. CASEKOO views these partnerships as the very soul of its work, resulting in creations that are not only beautiful but intentional, warm, and deeply resonant.

About CASEKOO
CASEKOO promises to make more than a case. It is dedicated to designing and producing high-quality, artist-driven tech accessories that merge function, durability, and aesthetic innovation. By collaborating with visionary creators around the world, the brand brings unique and meaningful designs to global audiences.
