Building a Public Welfare Traceability System — Giving Every Act of Kindness a Clear Path

Introducing the Foundation’s vision and future development direction, WPWAF President Mr. Rich Voon emphasized that modern philanthropy requires not only compassion, but also transparency, professionalism, sustainability and accountability.

He said the Foundation is currently developing a Public Welfare Traceability System, which aims to use technology to establish a more transparent mechanism for managing and tracking public welfare resources.

The system is intended to enable donors to better understand the flow and utilization of their contributions, including monetary donations, material donations and other forms of resources. From the point at which resources enter a public welfare project to their eventual implementation and utilization, the system is designed to establish a comprehensive record and traceability process.

“We want every act of kindness to be seen, recorded and traceable. Philanthropy should not end at the moment a donation is made. It should ensure that goodwill truly reaches those who need it and creates lasting social value.”

Rich Voon said the Foundation hopes the system will further promote transparency in public welfare, effective resource allocation and public trust, while providing donors, organizations, businesses and members of the community with a more systematic framework for participating in philanthropic initiatives.

Establishing Development Funds to Address Social, Environmental and Humanitarian Challenges

In addition to advancing digitalization and transparency in public welfare, the World Public Welfare Alliance Foundation plans to establish various development funds and specialized funds focusing on social, environmental, humanitarian, educational, healthcare, vulnerable-community and other long-term social issues.

Rich Voon said the Foundation’s approach to philanthropy is not limited to addressing immediate needs. Instead, it seeks to examine the underlying causes of social challenges and explore long-term solutions through research, education, cross-sector collaboration and resource integration.

Under the partnership, both organizations will explore cooperation in areas including disability development, vocational skills training  social inclusion and international exchange  with plans to jointly promote 11th International Abilympics; Road To Finland 2027 as well as upcoming years of International Abilympics Competition.

The initiative aims to provide persons with disabilities with opportunities to demonstrate their professional skills, strengthen their vocational capabilities and participate in international exchange; providing immediate avenue of employment opportunities as well as entrepreneurship development.

The partnership also reflects another key principle of the World Public Welfare Alliance Foundation — moving from “assistance” to “empowerment.”

Through vocational skills development, capacity building and international exchange, the initiative seeks to support persons with disabilities not only through social assistance, but also by creating opportunities for them to develop their abilities, build confidence and contribute their talents within society and the workplace.

The gap appears both when people try to maintain proper form during a home workout and when they must navigate an unfamiliar hospital in another language. This distance between digital advice and real-world action can be thought of as a “last-mile execution gap.”

Bridging that gap requires more than standalone algorithms. Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 Blue Book on the Development of the Global AI Healthcare Industry argues that medical AI is moving from isolated diagnostic tools toward integrated systems that combine data, medical knowledge and clinical workflows. In this model, value lies less in one-off efficiency gains than in redesigning the end-to-end care process and connecting the providers involved.

Ping An Good Doctor (HKEX: 1833), this Hong Kong-listed company is pairing AI models with an on-the-ground service network.

The gap is visible in home-based exercise and rehabilitation. People may know which exercises to do, but without real-time feedback they can perform them incorrectly, reducing their potential benefit or increasing the risk of injury.

A market forecast projects that the global market for AI personal trainers will grow from $16.9 billion in 2025 to $65.7 billion by 2033. In 2024, China’s National Health Commission launched the “Weight Management Year” initiative, which is also putting exercise and weight management higher on the public-health agenda.

Ping An Good Doctor recently upgraded its Ping An AI Doctor service, offering Ping An Smart Private Coach. The company describes it as a hybrid solution combining AI guidance with coaching, designed to extend family health management beyond consultation and chronic-disease management to guided, at-home exercise and rehabilitation.

Using technology that tracks 34 points on the body, the service monitors movement and provides real-time feedback in seven categories, including posture correction, chronic-pain rehabilitation, postpartum recovery and Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese qigong exercise. Ping An AI Doctor can connect users to its wider service network, creating a care pathway that spans prevention, consultation, guided exercise and rehabilitation.

Cross-border care presents a similar last-mile problem. Language barriers and unfamiliar hospital procedures can delay care for international visitors and residents.

The launch of Ping An GlobalCare came as China expanded its visa-free entry policies. Ping An Good Doctor unveiled the platform at the Shenzhen Sci-Tech Innovation Exhibition. According to the government, entries by foreign nationals exceeded 60 million in the first eight months of 2026.

Now being piloted in Shenzhen, the platform supports registration with phone numbers issued in 198 countries and regions and includes an AI translation engine tuned for medical terminology in 19 languages.

The platform is designed to go beyond translation through an end-to-end care pathway: online assessment, case coordination and in-person assistance. In one company-reported case, a U.S. user with acute abdominal pain completed an online triage session supported by AI translation. A case coordinator then helped arrange transport and guided him through hospital registration and diagnostic tests; the company says the process was completed within three hours.

In both cases, the AI is not the endpoint but a trigger for a human or physical service.

These offerings are examples of Ping An Good Doctor’s broader service model, which it describes as online, in-hospital, at-home and corporate health services. The company also says the AI ecosystem is supported by its proprietary multimodal model, Ping An Medical Master®.

According to Ping An Good Doctor’s 2026 Interim Report, its “AI + Physician” collaboration mechanism covers 100% of Ping An Group’s retail customers. The report also says that the company’s AI business accounted for approximately 4.6% of gross profit in the first half of 2026.

Whether it is Ping An Smart Private Coach, which supports at-home fitness and rehabilitation, or Ping An GlobalCare, which helps users navigate cross-border care, these initiatives are concrete examples of the broader healthcare AI strategy being pursued by Ping An Good Doctor and its parent company, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd.

In March 2026, the Foundation organised the “AI for Good” Hackathon, a collaborative social innovation programme developed in partnership with The Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Three winning projects were selected: Central Connect by the Hong Kong Design Institute, Central as Canvas by Caritas Hong Kong, and Central POP! by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation. The Central Spark Series leverages Hongkong Land’s Central portfolio in the heart of Hong Kong as a dynamic platform for learning, public participation and community engagement. Central Connect by the Hong Kong Design Institute The project will activate Central as a living classroom, empowering the next generation to reimagine its rich history as a visionary blueprint for the future.

The United Imaging uMI Panorama GS total-body PET/CT system’s most significant breakthrough is its 148-centimetre ultra-long axial field of view. It enables the brain, heart, lungs, liver and other major organs to be imaged simultaneously in a single scan, overcoming the limitations of conventional PET systems, which generally provide a local scanning range of only 15 to 30 centimetres.

A single imaging examination can capture near-full-body images seamlessly, eliminating the need for patients to undergo multiple local scans and subsequent image stitching to track hidden metastatic lesions. The expanded detection range increases system sensitivity by up to 25 times. Its enhanced photon-detection capability allows the dose of injected tracer to be reduced, significantly lowering radiation exposure and providing a safer imaging exam option for radiation-sensitive patients, including paediatric patients. At the same time, high-definition dynamic imaging enables clinical teams to monitor tracer distribution, uptake and metabolic trajectory in real time. Combined with artificial intelligence-based denoising technology, the system further enhances cancer diagnostic performance. All these advantages together with much improved electronics and algorithms contribute to the capability of tracer dynamic studies. The addition of a time variable can resolve different phases of tracer interaction with the target organ or tumours.

Advanced Hardware Combined with “Dual-Tracer Tracking” Reveals the Full Picture of Cancer

Accurate identification of cancer cells requires a high degree of integration of hardware and radiotracers. Although total-body PET/CT offers powerful detection capabilities, tracers are essential for guiding the imaging process. Conventional examinations may have limitations because different types of cancer cells at different stages have significantly different metabolic and receptor characteristics. As a result, using a single tracer may not reveal the full picture of cancerous lesions. In particular, some early-stage cancer cells may show limited uptake of conventional tracers, leading to less comprehensive examination results.

HKSH’s Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET is Asia’s first clinical PET centre with onsite cyclotron and radiopharmacy laboratory to produce radiotracers. Head of the Department Dr. Garrett HO, said, “HKSH’s nuclear medicine services are patient-centred. Our team has long established a clinical standard based on ‘dual-tracer tracking’.
