Traveling Through 5,000 Years at the “Liaoning Week”

OSAKA, Japan, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A report from China Trade News.

In this August, inside the China Pavilion at the Expo 2025, the spotlight falls on the Niuheliang site of the Hongshan Culture, which is located in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, the very birthplace of China’s earliest astronomical calendar.

“Niuheliang is the cradle of Chinese civilization, confirmed by the ‘Origins of Chinese Civilization’ project as the foremost representative of the first phase of these archaic-state era,” said Yin Xuhong from Niuheliang Site Administration. At the themed promotion session held as part of the Liaoning Week at the Expo on August 24, under Yin’s guidance, the audience embarked on a historical journey spanning 5,000 years.

“The Hongshan people had already founded large-scale agriculture. Farming demanded close observation of the seasons and harmony with the nature. Thus this altar was born: three concentric circles that mirror the sun’s path across the sky at the spring and autumn equinoxes and at the summer and winter solstices, while simultaneously encoding the ancient concept of ‘three parts of Heaven and two parts of Earth.’ It became China’s earliest astronomical calendar,” Yin explained, pointing to an image of the circular altar at Local 2 of the Niuheliang site.

According to Yin, the Hongshan Culture was a major Neolithic archaeological culture of the late period in northern China, stretching across Liaoning, Hebei and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and covering a range of more than 300,000 km². The Niuheliang site in Chaoyang, Liaoning, is its most important representative. Solid archaeological evidence pushes the origins of Chinese civilization back to 5,800 years ago, lighting the dawn of Chinese history. The goddess statue unearthed at Niuheliang is honored as the primordial mother of the Hongshan people and the shared ancestor of all the Chinese, and is one of China’s national treasures.

During the Liaoning Week, Shenyang Qiyuan Technology Co., Ltd. from the Science & Innovation Park of Shenyang Ligong University used cutting-edge naked-eye 3D holography to present key artifacts from Niuheliang, such as the head of the goddess statue, jade pig-dragons, and dragon-and-phoenix jade pendants without any physical objects. The immersive experience of traveling back to 5000 years drew gasps of amazement from the visitors.

Excerpts were also displayed from the article “Archaeological Discovery of the Jade Dragon of the Hongshan Culture”, written by Dr. Liu Guoxiang, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of History and Director & Researcher of the China Archaeological Museum, published in the 2025 third issue of UNESCO Courier.

“The jade artifacts from Niuheliang share stylistic features with those from Lingjiatan and Liangzhu, revealing extensive cultural exchange and integration among the Liao River, Yellow River and Yangtze River basins more than 5,000 years ago. It was through continuous collision, exchange and fusion among many cultures that the pluralistic yet unified pattern of Chinese civilization was formed, sustaining an unbroken 5,000-year legacy,” Yin noted. On behalf of the Niuheliang site, he extended a warm invitation to the world: “Welcome to Niuheliang! Welcome to Liaoning! Let’s enjoy a journey of 5000 years about Chinese civilization!”

KuCoin Becomes First Crypto Exchange to Support Thailand’s Historic G-Token Project

Thailand’s First Tokenized Government Bond Listed on a Digital Asset Exchange Marks New Era in Real-World Asset (RWA) Innovation

BANGKOK, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — KuCoin, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, proudly announces its participation as the first global crypto exchange to support Thailand’s historic G-Token Program. G-Token is the world’s first publicly offered tokenized government bond initiative issued by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance and marks Thailand’s inaugural government bond listed on a digital asset exchange.

In this groundbreaking project, KuCoin has entered into a consortium agreement and formed a strategic partnership with XSpring Digital and KuCoin Thailand. KuCoin Thailand, a licensed digital asset exchange operator regulated by Thailand SEC, will serve as one of the first digital asset exchanges to support the subscription, redemption and listing of the G-Token. Other consortium members include SIX Network and Krungthai XSpring. Subject to regulatory approval, the G-Token will also be listed on KuCoin’s global platform, reinforcing KuCoin’s commitment to advancing financial innovation and fostering the adoption of digital assets on a global scale.

The G-Token, or “Government Digital Bond,” is a tokenized Real-World Asset (RWA) issued under the Public Debt Management Act by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance. It represents a landmark in public finance innovation, combining the credibility of sovereign bonds with the efficiency of blockchain technology. Unlike cryptocurrencies, G-Tokens are government-backed financial instruments, offering eligible investors – both institutional and retail- access and the opportunity to invest, with principal and interest repayment guaranteed by the Ministry of Finance.

Democratizing Access to Finance

Historically, government bond markets required high minimum investment thresholds, excluding many retail investors. The G-Token removes these barriers by democratizing access to government securities, enabling broad participation through digital platforms.

By leveraging blockchain technology, the G-Token also delivers: transparency and trust through immutable, verifiable data; efficiency gains by lowering operational costs and improving issuance workflows and greater liquidity via secondary market trading.

This initiative marks Thailand’s boldest step into digital finance, creating a model for other nations considering blockchain integration in sovereign debt markets.

KuCoin’s Pivotal Role

As the first and only digital asset exchange supporting this historic initiative, KuCoin will play a pivotal role in its success. Together with SEC-licensed KuCoin Thailand, KuCoin will provide technology advisory for the overall G-Token program and serve as the primary operator for key secondary market trading to enhance liquidity and lead ecosystem development for G-Token applications. Additionally, KuCoin will offer strategic guidance on international market expansion, connecting Thailand’s financial innovation with global capital markets.

BC Wong, CEO of KuCoin, said:
“KuCoin has always been committed to bridging traditional finance with the crypto world through secure and innovative solutions. Supporting Thailand’s Ministry of Finance and XSpring on the world’s first sovereign tokenized bond demonstrates our leadership in RWA adoption. We are proud to be the first and the only global exchange to support the G-Token, which sets a global benchmark for financial innovation and inclusion.”

Looking Ahead: Thailand as a Leader, KuCoin as a Pioneer

The G-Token initiative positions Thailand as Southeast Asia’s undisputed leader in digital finance, showcasing how blockchain can transform traditional markets while maintaining investor protection and regulatory standards.

For KuCoin, this milestone reinforces its global commitment to advance RWA tokenization, democratize access to financial markets, and build a bridge between traditional capital and the digital economy.

Digital twin technology with AI to boost efficiency and reliability in pharmaceutical manufacturing

  • Cambridge Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES), the University of Cambridge’s first overseas research centre, together with the A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research (A*STAR I2R) has developed a digital twin platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time plant data to enhance fault detection, system monitoring, and predictive maintenance in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • The technology will be commercialised through Chemical Data Intelligence, a CARES spin-off, and will be made available to the Pharma Innovation Programme Singapore (PIPS) Consortium.

SINGAPORE, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Pharmaceutical manufacturing demands consistency, high precision, and continuous improvement to ensure the safety and quality of medicines. The new platform automates the development of digital twins, which are virtual replicas of production lines, to optimise plant operations, detect anomalies early, and support data-driven decision-making.

The technology has shown key advantages of an ontology-based digital twin to improve system understanding, refine predictions, and supports the addition of flexible, new workflow agents for future digital development and manufacturing.

CARES led the development of the digital twin’s ontology and physical modelling, while A*STAR I2R developed an AI agent for anomaly detection. This AI agent combines physical models, which utilises the knowledge from the ontology, with the data-driven models trained on sensory data such as temperature, flow rates, and pressure, to detect issues like mismatched flow rates or abnormal tank levels before they escalate.

The system was demonstrated on a real-time manufacturing testbed provided by another CARES spin-off, Accelerated Materials. Hosted on Microsoft Azure cloud, the platform enables researchers and engineers to monitor plant performance in real-time, simulate production scenarios, and test responses to potential faults.

Prof Alexei Lapkin, lead Principal Investigator on the project, reflects on future developments, “the project has multiple outputs; one is the technology for rapid development of digital twins based on the ontology of first principles models. This technology is now being turned into a commercial product by another CARES spin-off, Chemical Data Intelligence, to make it available to the pharmaceutical companies under the Pharma Innovation Programme Singapore (PIPS) Consortium”

Dr Lianlian Jiang, Co-Lead Principal Investigator of the project, Unit Lead of Digital & Sustainable Manufacturing at  A*STAR I2R, said: “The AI agent in this ontology-based digital twin can be extended beyond anomaly detection to support quality monitoring, production scheduling, and resource planning. By embedding domain knowledge into the system, the technology helps capture and transfer critical expertise while complementing staff expertise. We are glad to work with CARES and industry partners to further scale this technology to meet the needs of more complex manufacturing environments.”
