The licensing deal includes an upfront payment, milestone payments tied to development and commercialization stages, and royalties based on future sales. Specific financial and contractual details remain confidential to safeguard proprietary technologies and business strategies. Both companies view this collaboration as a pivotal step toward the commercialization of cell therapies for the treatment of solid tumors.

Byoung-Chul Cho, MD, the CEO of DAAN Biotherapeutics, stated, “We will continue to innovate our technologies to develop cancer treatments that will change the lives of patients.”

ASEAN+3 Positioned for Resilience Amid Unprecedented Trade Shocks

SINGAPORE, April 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) today released its annual flagship report, the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO) 2025, highlighting the region’s resilience and policy capacity to withstand unprecedented global trade shocks following the US administration’s sweeping tariff announcement on April 2. These tariffs mark a sharp escalation in trade protectionism and have introduced heightened uncertainty far exceeding market expectations.

“The announcement of elevated and broad-based tariffs by the US, and the developments since, have added significant layers of complexity to the ASEAN+3 region’s outlook,” said AMRO Chief Economist Hoe Ee Khor. “Nevertheless, ASEAN+3 economies today are more resilient and diversified than during past global shocks and better positioned to navigate the unfolding tariff shock.”

The ASEAN+3 region faces a disproportionate impact from the US tariff measures. 13 out of the 14 member economies are subject to some of the highest effective tariff rates in the April 2 announcement, with a trade-weighted average estimated at 26 percent excluding China. These rates remain fluid and will likely evolve further in the coming months. These tariffs and the uncertainty generated by the constant shifts in policies are expected to weaken trade momentum, disrupt supply chains, and increase financial market volatility.

Still, the ASEAN+3 regional outlook is underpinned by resilient fundamentals. Prior to the announcement of the “Liberation Day” tariffs, AMRO had projected the region to grow above 4.0 percent in 2025 and 2026, supported by robust domestic demand, recovering investment, and low, stable inflation. However, the US tariff measures have introduced considerable uncertainty. Under the initial Liberation Day scenario, regional growth could slip below 4.0 percent in 2025 and weaken further to 3.4 percent in 2026. These preliminary projections are subject to significant uncertainties, as the US administration continually adjusts its tariff measures in response to market reactions and counter measures by trading partners.

While these trade shocks will weigh on ASEAN+3, the region is entering this period from a position of relative strength and resilience. ASEAN+3 economies possess ample policy space to cushion near-term shocks. Many governments have the fiscal capacity to deliver targeted support to vulnerable sectors and sustain domestic demand. Central banks in the region have room to ease monetary policy in view of the low and well-anchored inflation rates, and can deploy macroprudential tools and liquidity facilities to safeguard financial stability.

Over the years, regional economies have become more balanced, with domestic demand and intraregional trade emerging as key drivers of growth. Moreover, the region is now supported by a more diversified export market. The region’s share of exports to the US has declined steadily over the years. Exports to the US now make up just 15 percent of gross exports, compared to about 24 percent in 2000. Deepening intraregional trade and rapidly expanding domestic markets have reduced dependency on any single export market. Continued progress in regional integration and trade diversification will further strengthen the region’s ability to weather global turbulence.

As the region responds to these near-term risks, it should continue to aim at achieving development goals to revitalize its declining long-term growth and further build resilience to external shocks. Allen Ng, AMRO Group Head for Regional Surveillance, said: “Reinvigorating structural reforms and enhancing productivity are critical to unlocking the region’s untapped growth potential. Accelerating digitalization, embracing green transitions, and boosting productivity, can help ASEAN+3 sustain resilient, high-quality growth.” Key medium to long-term priorities include upgrading industrial capabilities, diversifying into renewable energy industries and markets, narrowing investment gaps, strengthening institutional capacity, increasing services productivity, and deepening integration in areas such as services and digital trade.

Despite today’s uncertain environment, the region has demonstrated its ability to endure and adapt. As Khor concluded: “ASEAN+3 has proven its remarkable resilience time and again in the face of global shocks. In this volatile trade landscape, unity and coordinated action will be essential.”

The full AREO 2025 report is available on the AMRO website.

Solenergy Group complete 401kW system for Cairns Aquarium to power animal life support systems, with donations from GoodWe, Greensketch and co-funding from Queensland Government

CAIRNS, Australia, April 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Queensland solar retailer, Solenergy Group has completed the installation of a 401kW solar system for Cairns Aquarium, one of the top tourist destinations in Cairns and one of the city’s largest energy users, in an effort to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, improve resilience to power spikes and power cuts during inclement weather. The system was made possible through four 100kW HT inverters that were donated by GoodWe and Greensketch, along with additional funding from the Queensland Government’s Building Resilient Tourism Infrastructure Fund (BRTI).

With over 5 million litres of water on site running through 14 plantrooms and 71 living displays, housing some 16,000 fish and aquatic organisms including ocean-going sharks, rays and grouper, within a 7,800 square metre airconditioned building, this $400,000 renewable energy investment will provide 100% of the Aquariums energy needs to power its Life Support Systems (LSS) which includes aquatic pumps and mechanical and biological filtration that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide purified water for the inhabitants.

The renewable energy generated by the massive solar array will deliver tangible environmental benefits for the city which includes the equivalent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 12,872 trees planted each year or the avoidance of 213,830 litres of fuel used per year or the avoidance of 243,017 kilos of coal burnt each year.  Despite being located on the building’s 11-metre-high roof top, visitors to the Cairns Aquarium can still see the energy generation in real time through a live display screen in the Aquarium’s lobby.

Director of Solenergy Group, Mark Ridgley commented:

“The project involved a lot of obstacles for our team, such as designing and engineering a system that could work alongside grid sourced power without impacting sensitive computerised water quality plant and equipment. Almost 700 x 585W solar panels were installed on the Aquarium rooftop, occupying near 4,000 square meters of space, that also required additional design and logistical solutions for volume and weight distribution, especially for a site that operates 24hrs a day and is open 365 days a year to over 300,000 visitors from around the world.

We were delighted that GoodWe and Greensketch were able to donate the four inverters, to assist the Aquarium and help make the project possible. We selected GoodWe HT Inverters due to an overall specification focused on continual performance and maximising of solar energy yields to provide the lowest levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). In addition, the enhanced safety features such as IP66 ratings, lightning surge protection and internal humidity monitoring, made GoodWe the ideal choice in a tropical climate and Cairns Aquarium’s specific application.”

Dean Williamson, Country Manager at GoodWe Australia, emphasised the value of this system:

“This project was an extremely important one, not only to assist the operation of a key focus of tourism for Cairns and support its economy, but also to ensure the protection and care of all the livestock in the Aquarium that is all local to the region, including many endangered species.  Thanks to the support of OSW’s Greensketch platform, we were able to donate the inverters needed for this massive job and help it get across the line.”

About GoodWe:
GoodWe is a world-leading PV inverter and energy storage systems manufacturer listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 688390). The company has more than 5000 employees located in 15 different countries and a team of over 1000 engineers working at its R&D centres to continuously optimise and advance energy storage technology. Mount Taishan Tea “Fry” New Experience of Rural Revitalization

TAI’AN, China, April 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A report from the Shandong Office of Hong Kong Business Daily:

Mount Taishan is the hometown of tea customs in the north, and the Mount Taishan tea at the foot of Mount Taishan has long been famous. In recent years, Tai’an City, has expanded Mount Taishan’s tea industry, promoted the integrated development of tea tourism, continuously extended the tea industry chain, and promoted the ecological tea mountain to become a “golden mountain and silver mountain” for farmers to increase income and become rich.

Tai’an lists Mount Taishan tea as one of the “three dominant characteristic industries”. The tea planting area involves more than 20 townships and more than 50 villages, and the total area of tea gardens exceeds 3000 hectares. Taking Xiaojinkou Village in Tai’an City as an example, it is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces a lake to the south. It has sufficient sunlight, humid air, fertile soil, and a large temperature difference between day and night, making it suitable for tea planting. Standing at the top of the mountain, looking around, there are tea houses of all sizes scattered throughout the fields. The tea grown in these beautiful mountains and waters has thick, firm and clean leaves, a green color, and broad market prospects. At the Daiqing Daughter Tea Processing Factory not far from the tea greenhouse, the person in charge, Wu Maosheng, said, “The spring tea market has broad prospects, and this year’s spring tea sales are expected to break through historical highs.

At present, the daughter tea planting professional cooperative in Xiaojinkou Village has 700 members and a tea plantation area of 2800 acres. Based on the advantages of location and resource endowment, relying on the traditional tea industry foundation of Xiaojinkou Village, we provide intensive services from planting to sales for tea farmers through technological empowerment, drive the upgrading of tea farmers’ production and planting technology, and embark on a large-scale development path of “production, supply, and sales” one-stop services. Tourists can also experience tea picking and brewing, learn tea art and frying techniques, and experience the charm of tea culture here.

At present, Mount Taishan tea is taking deep processing technology as the fulcrum to promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional tea industry. Mount Taishan tea industry has become an important pillar industry for farmers around Mount Taishan.
