KuCoin Launches Stock Index Perpetual Contracts, Expanding 24/7 Cross-Asset Access

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — KuCoin, a leading global crypto platform built on trust, today announced the launch of its Stock Index Perpetual Contracts, with the first batch of contracts scheduled for listing, including Tesla Index Perpetual Contract (TSLAUSDT) and MicroStrategy Index Perpetual Contract (MSTRUSDT). As traditional finance (TradFi) and crypto infrastructure continue to converge, the new product combines 24/7 trading, micro-contract entry from 1 USDT, and a risk control framework built on institutional-grade pricing, session-aware mark pricing, and EMA-based transition smoothing, offering eligible global users a more continuous, flexible, and risk-conscious tool for cross-asset allocation, while further expanding KuCoin’s cross-market derivatives infrastructure under its Trust-First strategy.

As global markets become more interconnected and increasingly event-driven, portfolio management is shifting from single-market participation toward continuous risk management across time zones and asset classes. In traditional equity markets, liquidity conditions can change sharply around market open and close, creating short-term pricing dislocations and increasing the risk of technical liquidations. KuCoin’s Stock Index Perpetual Contracts are designed to address that structural limitation by bringing equity-linked derivatives into a crypto-native, always-on trading environment.

Key features include:

  • 24/7 Trading Access – Continuous access to equity-linked contracts beyond traditional market hours.
  • Micro-Contract Entry – Positions start from as little as 1 USDT, making participation more accessible to global users.
  • Institutional-Grade Pricing Framework – Use of institutional-grade reference pricing mechanisms and session-aware mark pricing designed to better reflect underlying market conditions and reduce traders’ exposure to volatility across varying liquidity conditions.
  • EMA-Based Transition Smoothing – A pricing design intended to reduce abrupt dislocations around market open and close.

BC Wong, CEO of KuCoin, said: “Global capital markets are moving toward a new phase defined by liquidity, real-time risk management, and seamless access. We believe next-generation financial infrastructure must go beyond asset tokenization. It must also provide more reliable pricing, more continuous market access, and more disciplined risk controls. The launch of our Stock Index Perpetual Contracts reflects KuCoin’s long-term commitment to supporting the convergence of TradFi and Crypto through infrastructure built on trust.”

We will continue refining the product framework, including potential enhancements to pricing methodologies, risk management systems, and liquidity mechanisms, with the objective of supporting stable market operations and user protection. This launch not only expands KuCoin’s derivatives offering, but also reflects the core principle of its Trust-First strategy: long-term value in market innovation depends not only on broader asset access, but on the strength of the infrastructure and risk controls that support it.

  • Potentially best-in-class durability with a favorable safety profile and no dose-limiting toxicity
  • Phase 2b dose-determining study expected to begin in H2 2026; global Phase 3 program expected to begin in 2027

SHANGHAI, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Everest Medicines (HKEX: 1952.HK) today announced that its licensing partner, NovaBridge Biopharma (NASDAQ: NBP, “NovaBridge”), together with its subsidiary Visara, Inc. (“Visara”), reported positive topline results from the Phase 2a study of VIS-101, a purpose-designed tetravalent, dual VEGF-A X ANG-2 inhibitor in development for retinal vascular diseases including wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), diabetic macular edema (DME), and retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Topline results show that VIS-101 produced rapid, robust and durable treatment responses in wet AMD, with potential best-in-class durability and a favorable safety profile. Wet AMD affects more than 20 million people globally[1].

Topline Data:

VIS-101 produced rapid and robust efficacy, and durable treatment responses with both 3 mg and 6 mg dose cohorts:

  • Mean improvement in Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) of >10 Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) letters
  • Median central subfield thickness (CST) reduction of 100-150 mm

  • Favorable safety and no dose limited toxicity

“We congratulate our partner on the positive top-line results from the VIS-101 Phase 2a study, marking an important milestone in its clinical development. Dual VEGF-A/ANG-2 inhibition has been validated as a key approach for treating retinal vascular disease, and extending treatment durability remains a critical unmet need,” said Rogers Yongqing Luo, Chief Executive Officer of Everest Medicines. “VIS-101 has demonstrated potentially best-in-class durability, robust visual and anatomic improvements, along with a favorable safety profile, providing a strong foundation for advancing its future clinical development. With Everest’s experience in clinical development and commercialization, we look forward to bringing VIS‑101, a highly differentiated bifunctional antibody with strong commercial potential, to patients across China and Asia in the near future.”

“I am encouraged by the positive Phase 2a safety and efficacy data as it provides important proof-of-concept for VIS-101 as a potential treatment for wet AMD. The data validates VIS-101’s purpose-engineered design and gives us added confidence in its potential to deliver best-in-class durability while maximizing visual gains in the treatment of wet AMD,” said Emmett T. Cunningham, Jr., MD, PhD, MPH, Founder and Executive Chairman of Visara and Vice-Chairman of the NovaBridge Board of Directors. “The data clearly show that VIS-101 produced rapid, robust and durable treatment responses, with favorable tolerability, after three loading doses. Importantly, VIS-101 also demonstrated potential best-in-class durability, with nearly half of treatment naïve patients remaining retreatment free for more than six months following induction. Such strong clinical results provide a meaningful foundation to advance our development program, including plans to initiate a dose-determining Phase 2b study in the second half of this year, followed by a global Phase 3 program in 2027.”

On October 30, 2025, Everest Medicines entered into a collaboration agreement with Visara, under which Everest acquired an exclusive license to develop, manufacture, and commercialize VIS-101 in Greater China, Singapore, South Korea, and certain Southeast Asian countries.

About the Randomized Phase 2a Study of VIS-101 in Wet AMD

The Phase 2a randomized study (NCT05456828) evaluated the safety and efficacy of VIS-101 (aka AM712 or ASKG712) in patients with wet AMD, including patients who were naïve to treatment or VEGF-experienced. The study enrolled a total of 38 wet AMD patients in China.

Patients were randomized 2:1 to 6mg VIS-101 (n=25) or 3 mg VIS-101 (n=13). The primary endpoint was safety and pharmacokinetics and the secondary endpoint was efficacy, measured by best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) change from baseline (assessed by early treatment diabetic retinopathy scale (ETDRS Letters), change in central subfield thickness (CST, measured in mm), and retreatment rate. Subjects were given three loading doses at weeks 0, 4 and 8, with monthly follow-up to week 36 or retreatment (based on protocol-defined Disease Activity Criteria based on BCVA, CST and wet AMD activity). Safety and efficacy endpoints were assessed at each visit including 24 weeks (6 months) after the last loading dose.

From R&D Self-Reliance to Standard Reshaping: How Chinese Brand BABI Decodes Global Photoprotection Challenges and Reconstructs Sunscreen Logic with Patented Technology

HANGZHOU, China, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Over the past decades, the evolution of sun protection has been closely tied to humanity’s fight against skin photoaging. Despite the widespread awareness of sun protection, market feedback reveals a harsh reality: “suboptimal suncare experiences” remain a core pain point for consumers in both Asian and Western markets. This structural contradiction becomes particularly acute in extreme environments and high-intensity social scenarios:

  1. The “Protection Gap” Phenomenon: Many products boast impressive laboratory data but fail in real-world conditions of high heat and perspiration. The physical fracturing of the protective film creates invisible “blind spots,” leading to sunburn, tanning, and aging despite diligent application.
  2. Anxiety Over Skin Irritation: High concentrations of chemical UV filters are often accompanied by skin irritation, especially for those with compromised barriers. Most high-protection sunscreens inadvertently cause damage to the skin’s defensive layer.
  3. The Conflict Between Protection and Sensory Experience: To achieve SPF 50+, formulas are often forced to include large amounts of oily film-formers, resulting in a “suffocating” sensation. Consumers often need to layer sunscreen, primer, and foundation, which leads to a heavy, greasy feel and increased risks of clogged pores and breakouts.

Addressing these industry pain points, BABI (Hangzhou Blue Pool Technology Co., Ltd.), a science-led Chinese beauty brand, has introduced a systemic solution: the BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream 2.0. Based on invention patent ZL202411751091.2, this product fundamentally reconstructs the logic of photoprotection across two dimensions: cell biology and formulation architecture.

I. Paradigm Shift: Deep Compatibility Between High Protection and Sensitive Skin Friendliness

To resolve the conflict between “high efficiency” and “skin irritation,” the BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream first achieves a breakthrough in protective power. Leveraging patented technology, the product utilizes 7 chemical filters combined with physical shielding to achieve full-spectrum protection (280-400 nm). Independent testing confirms an SPF of 65 and PFA of 16. Even after a rigorous 80-minute water resistance simulation, the SPF remains stable at 36, demonstrating long-lasting protection against sweat and friction.

In addition to high protection, BABI extends its scope to the real-time neuro-sensory feedback of skin following thermal damage. The BABI Laboratory integrated the scientific breakthrough of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine: the TRPV1 channel. Widely distributed in nerve endings, this channel mediates inflammatory responses triggered by heat and UV rays. BABI innovatively introduced Kava (Piper methysticum) Extract, a clinically proven TRPV1 antagonist that acts rapidly on nerve endings to inhibit overactivation at the source. This means BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream creates not just a physical barrier, but a “sensory blocker” at the cellular level to alleviate burning and stinging instantly.

With a commitment to sensitive skin, the formula adheres to a “Zero-Additives” philosophy, rejecting multiple common allergens. This “post-procedure grade” soothing logic fundamentally transforms the rigid “protection-only” approach of traditional sunscreens.

II. Sensory Revolution: “Breathable” Defense via 5-Second Application and Dual-Membrane Matrix

BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream reshapes the user experience to combat the “heavy layering” that consumers despise.

  1. 5-Second Effortless Application: The formula features a patented Sensory Improver that significantly enhances spreadability. It achieves a “5-second application” that is lightweight and natural, concealing imperfections without the stickiness of traditional heavy makeup.
  2. The Dual-Membrane Matrix Solution: Based on patent ZL202411751091.2, BABI utilizes a multi-step emulsification process to build a Dual-Membrane Matrix system:
    • Oil Phase (PBSA Dense Barrier): Ensures high-level protection with no gaps.
    • Water Phase (Moisture-Locking Membrane): Utilizes porous microspheres to absorb excess oil, achieving a perfect balance between protection and breathability. This ensures 24-hour color integrity and prevents makeup from oxidizing or darkening.

III. Functional Minimalism: Pharmacological-Grade Dual Certifications and “Four-in-One” Consumption

Unlike single-function products, BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream holds dual “Special Use” certifications for “Whitening/Spot-Fading” and “Sun Protection.”

Through the synergistic system of patent ZL202411751091.2, the product achieves vertical functional integration. For whitening, it combines 2% High-Purity Niacinamide, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (VC derivative), and Morus Alba Root Extract. Supported by the “Dual-Membrane” delivery technology, these actives bypass the skin barrier to act deeply on melanocytes. Clinical data shows that melanin levels decreased by 23.95% and skin transparency improved by 11.68% after 28 days of use, creating a comprehensive protection-and-repair mechanism.

BABI’s “Simple & Outstanding” philosophy is essentially “reductionist engineering” for modern women’s complex routines. One bottle serves as a Tone-up Cream + Sunscreen + Whitening Essence + Makeup Primer.

IV. Brand Evolution Driven by Core Technology

Founded in 2021, BABI represents the shift of Chinese beauty brands from “marketing-driven” to “hard-core technology-driven.” By translating cutting-edge research like TRPV1 into tangible products and deepening its expertise in patented processes, BABI matches the technical benchmarks of international Tier-1 brands. By innovatively integrating sun protection with base makeup, BABI effectively resolves the long-standing dilemmas that have plagued consumers, ensuring that high-performance sun protection and a superior skin feel are no longer a trade-off. Furthermore, it simultaneously addresses the demands for whitening and safety while simplifying the skincare and makeup routine, making beauty truly effortless.

The launch of the BABI Repairing & Tinted Whitening Sunscreen Cream marks the establishment of a high technical barrier in the “Sunscreen Makeup Base” sector. It provides a Chinese blueprint for the global market: how rigorous research and process breakthroughs can transform complex dermatological protection into a simple, exquisite aesthetic for every consumer.

This reflects the formidable innovative power that Chinese brands are demonstrating across various sectors as China continues its ascent. We believe that in the future, more Chinese brands will emerge to create even more extraordinary and outstanding achievements.

Xinhua Silk Road: E. China ancient town beckons holiday travelers with lively folk custom vibe

BEIJING, March 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In Zaozhuang City of east China’s Shandong Province, Taierzhuang Ancient Town, a reputed scenic attraction, always beckons travelers from near and far with enchanting folk custom performances and bustling festive celebrations.

The scenic zone, also a time-honored locality where the ancient canal, waterside streets and alleys, old architectures of varied styles, and a variety of intangible cultural heritages (ICHs) co-speak for its charming history, brims with the hustle and bustle of life at daytime.

During traditional Chinese festivals in particular, Taierzhuang Ancient Town remains a ready land of joy featuring cheerful folk custom performances on the winding local alleys beside its ancient canal section.

For instance, the Lantern Festival of the Year of the Horse in early March approached visitors with a splashy world of colorful festive lanterns to express people’s good wishes for life.

Apart from dragon and lion dances on local alleys, Chinese acrobatic performances are also a common sight for the festival often replete with children’s laughter, aroma of local snacks and cuisines and characteristic handicrafts in street-side stalls.

While strolling in Taierzhuang Ancient Town, travelers can immerse themselves in the lively aura brought by the bustling temple fairs for traditional festivals there, feeling like stepping back in time to the streets and alleys in ancient time.

When night comes, the ancient town decorated by dazzling lights transforms immediately into a twinkling starry space where a casual snapshot of the festive lanterns placed along local rivers is sure to be an adorable scenery.

At its eastern gate tower, a light and shadow show tells the history of Taierzhuang Ancient Town, welcoming visitors with melodious music and a re-presentation of the spectacular ancient scene in which lights on shipping boats lit up the rivers and markets did not close at nights.

On Taierzhuang Ancient Town’s iconic dragon boat-shaped street surrounded by waters, colorful light shows illuminate the old architectures whose golden and red colors intertwine to create a fairy tale-like world.

Rowing on local rivers stands also for a pleasant experience for visitors and watching the “fire dragon and iron flower” performance that blends dragon dances and molten iron water striking for sparks on Guan Yu Temple Square promises an even more unmissable delight.

British Embassy Launches Second Year of Women’s Leadership Program in Laos

Fifteen young Lao women from across the country have been selected for the second year of the Young Women’s Leadership Mentoring Program, supported by the British Embassy Vientiane, which officially launched on 10 March at an International Women’s Day reception.

The cohort reflects a deliberate effort to reach beyond the capital. At least a third of participants are based outside Vientiane, with candidates drawn from the north to the south of the country. They work across the private sector, scientific research, community engagement, international organizations and government.

Each participant receives personalized mentoring tailored to her own goals, alongside networking opportunities with senior professionals from across the region. Mentors come from 13 nationalities and include ambassadors and leaders from organizations such as the Mekong River Commission, the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations.

UK Ambassador Mel Barlow said the embassy was proud to lead the initiative. “We are inspired by the talent and potential we’ve seen again in this year’s applicants. We are indebted to our volunteer mentors who are giving their time to support the aspirations and career development of our 15 mentees.”

For participants, the impact is already tangible. Thidachanh Khammanichanh, who joined the 2025 program, said being mentored by the Thai Ambassador had changed her outlook. “It is truly motivating me to pursue my unfulfilled dream and always give back to society when we can.”

The program supports Laos’ national goal of increasing women’s participation in leadership, working to ensure women’s voices are represented at every level of society.
