ViewSonic Introduces Pre-configured 4K COB dvLED Solutions for Enterprises

LONDON, July 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of visual solutions, introduces the latest 4K Direct View LED Display—LDP Series, engineered by advanced Chip-on-Board (COB) technology. Available in 136-163-, and 217-inch screen sizes, the series features a smaller pixel pitch, delivering exceptional visual clarity, energy efficiency, and robust durability. Designed with an all-in-one structure, the LDP Series simplifies installation and maintenance to enable seamless engagement and high-impact communication in professional boardrooms, training spaces, lobbies, and command centers.

Designed for boardroom excellence, the LDP Series offers immersive visual performance to elevate professional engagement.
Designed for boardroom excellence, the LDP Series offers immersive visual performance to elevate professional engagement.

“ViewSonic continues to redefine LED display experiences with a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional value to our clients,” said Dean Tsai, General Manager of Projector & LED Display Business Unit at ViewSonic. “With the integration of the latest COB technology into the LDP Series, we not only enhance visual performance but also deliver practical benefits, such as greater durability and improved energy efficiency. These innovations provide ProAV resellers, system integrators, and installers with more versatile solutions to meet diverse customer needs, while also empowering enterprises to build more sustainable and efficient environments with ease.”

Making 4K LED Displays More Efficient

The LDP Series adopts the latest COB technology to increase image quality with smaller pixels. Unlike the common Surface Mount Device (SMD) method, this technology adopts a direct mounting approach by placing multiple LED chips onto a single substrate without bonding wires. This enables the series to incorporate mini LEDs and achieve an ultra-fine pixel pitch down to 0.7mm with 4K UHD resolution. Delivering vivid image clarity, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and wider viewing angles, this series ensures consistent visual quality across large-scale environments.

In terms of reliability and power efficiency, the LDP Series uses a common cathode wiring system that reduces energy consumption by up to 33% compared to the same models using a common anode design. Its IP54-rated protection against water and dust, along with IK08-rated impact resistance, contributes to long-lasting durability in high-traffic environments.

To further support enterprise adoption, the LED displays are built with an all-in-one, pre-configured modular design that integrates all essential systems into a detachable control box. This streamlined setup enables effortless installation and full-front maintenance, reducing complexity for installers and minimizing venue downtime. Beyond simplifying deployment, it also provides greater flexibility in presentation, enabling a clean, frameless appearance that blends seamlessly into modern interiors, making the displays ideal for lobbies and reception areas.

Enterprise-Grade Collaboration and Management

Purpose-built to foster collaboration in modern boardrooms and training spaces, the LDP Series is designed to support dynamic, effective communication through various content-sharing capabilities. Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture display modes allow multiple sources to be shown simultaneously, while the displays are compatible with ViewSonic’s wireless presentation solutions including ViewShare, a plug-and-play dongle, and AirSync, a web-based casting software—for real-time interaction and seamless discussions. Built-in 60W speakers deliver room-filling audio to complete the immersive experience, helping teams engage more effectively in professional settings.

For mission-critical environments, the LDP Series supports 24/7 operation and device management via LAN control. It is fully compatible with professional centralized control platforms such as Q-SYS, Crestron, and ViewSonic Manager, ensuring seamless integration into existing AV ecosystems. This allows IT teams to monitor, configure, and manage displays efficiently across complex deployments, making the series well-suited to command centers and enterprise-scale environments.

OMRON Healthcare’s Smart Devices Help Detect Early Heart Failure Risks in Over 33% of Study Participants

– Pilot Project on Home-based Heart Failure ICT Monitoring — Using Vital Data to Enable Early Medical Intervention –

KYOTO, Japan, July 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd., the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of personal heart health products, has successfully concluded a three-month study demonstrating how remotely monitored vital signs can facilitate early medical intervention in patients with heart failure.

Logo2: https://kyodonewsprwire.jp/img/202507242643-O2-8OYa6KT8

Conducted in collaboration with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, with support from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the study examined how real-time sharing of patient data, including blood pressure, body weight, and electrocardiogram (ECG) readings, can detect early signs of heart failure.

During the study, patients recorded daily measurements at home using OMRON’s smart health devices and the OMRON connect mobile app. This data was automatically shared with certified cardiovascular nurses and heart failure care experts who monitored the changes remotely. In cases where potential indicators of heart failure were observed, patients were contacted directly and referred for clinical evaluation.

Early detection is crucial for patients with heart failure, and this study saw warning signs detected in some 33% of participants (7 out of 21 patients), thereby enabling early intervention and treatment. By preempting the development of potentially severe or life-threatening symptoms, this approach can not only ease the burden on healthcare resources, but also bring clear benefits in reducing medical costs for patients.

Ultimately, over 90% of participants continued their daily health measurements for three months, with 86% reporting high satisfaction with the integration of home-based data into their personal health journey.

Such a system represents a significant advance on the standard approach in Japan, where patients self-report their symptoms via handwritten journals, which are only reviewed retrospectively during outpatient visits. With such appointments typically taking place every two to three months, there is a risk that conditions may worsen between visits, negating the opportunity for timely intervention.

“By combining home-monitored data with a proactive follow-up from clinical staff, this study demonstrated a working model that improves patient outcomes and reduces the risk of heart failure complications,” said Professor Kiyoshi Matoba, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. “As we look to scale this model in Japan, we’ll continue refining its operations and validating its wider clinical and operational potential.”

Participants in the study utilized two key devices from OMRON Healthcare: OMRON Complete (HCR-7800T), Japan’s first upper-arm blood pressure monitor with integrated ECG functionality for home use, and Karada Scan (HN-300T2) body composition monitor. Both devices can automatically sync with the OMRON connect app, allowing users to track their vital signs daily and share the data seamlessly with healthcare providers.

The built-in ECG monitor also alerts users to signs of potential atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common type of arrhythmia whose impacts can include symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue, as well as clot formation in the atria and even strokes. However, because around 40% of individuals with AFib display no overt symptoms besides intermittent palpitations known as paroxysmal AFib, the condition can be difficult to detect with standard ECG tests during routine check-ups. Because patients with high blood-pressure and hypertension are at greater risk of developing AFib, regular self-monitoring and analysis via OMRON Healthcare’s unique Intellisense AFib technology is a valuable means of screening for undiagnosed symptoms.

This is all part of Going for ZERO, OMRON Healthcare’s vision to eliminate cardiovascular events by promoting ECG recording and blood pressure monitoring at home. Moving forward, OMRON Healthcare will continue to develop easy-to-use devices and services that enable anyone to monitor their heart health at home, while also maintaining its active engagement in academic initiatives in collaboration with healthcare professionals and researchers, contributing to healthier and more fulfilling lives for people around the world.

The full study results will be presented at the 29th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Heart Failure Society, scheduled for October 10-12, 2025.

HEIDELBERG gets off to positive start in new financial year – forecast for 2025/26 confirmed

  • Sales and adjusted EBITDA margin for Q1 well up on corresponding quarter of previous year
  • Solid incoming orders lay foundations for positive business development
  • Free cash flow still negative but much improved compared with equivalent period of previous year
  • MoU agreed on system partnership with defense specialist VINCORION
  • Full-year forecast confirmed

HEIDELBERG, GERMANY – Newsaktuell – 31 July 2025 – Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) has made a positive start to financial year 2025/26. Thanks to the healthy order backlog from the previous year, sales in the first quarter were well up on the previous year’s figure (€ 403 million) at € 466 million. Business in Europe and Asia developed particularly positively during this period. In the case of Asia, this demonstrates that HEIDELBERG is further strengthening its position in such future markets. The adjusted operating result (EBITDA) also improved significantly, to € 20 million (corresponding quarter of previous year: € –9 million). The adjusted EBITDA margin, which did not include any special items during the reporting period, rose accordingly to 4.4 percent after three months (equivalent quarter of previous year: –2.3 percent). Besides the growing sales volume and improved production capacity utilization, the cost-cutting measures introduced by the company also had an impact in this regard. Systematically implementing both the plan for the future and efficiency improvements is having a positive effect on profitability in the current financial year. A full year after drupa, incoming orders of € 559 million in the first quarter (previous year’s figure: € 701 million) continued to create a solid basis for positive business development, with the company’s successful participation in the China Print trade show also playing a role.

HEIDELBERG develops and produces innovative control and power electronics. The company intends to use this core technology to open up new business areas, such as the defense sector.
HEIDELBERG develops and produces innovative control and power electronics. The company intends to use this core technology to open up new business areas, such as the defense sector.

“Thanks to our global market position and an improved cost basis, we have made a good start to the new financial year,” said Jürgen Otto, CEO of HEIDELBERG. “Strategic measures in our core business, together with new options in the Technology segment and our move into the defense sector, give us cause to feel very confident about the prospects for the year as a whole.” he added.

Although the free cash flow after three months was negative, as expected, it was much improved compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Thanks to the initiation of staffing and efficiency measures, the figure of € –68 million (previous year: € –103 million) was better than envisaged. The net result after taxes in the first quarter amounted to € –11 million, which was a big improvement on the equivalent period of the previous year (€ –42 million).

As of April 1, 2025, HEIDELBERG started basing its reporting on the Print & Packaging Equipment, Digital Solutions & Lifecycle, and HEIDELBERG Technology segments. The Print & Packaging Equipment segment includes offset and flexo solutions, as well as prepress and postpress solutions for packaging and commercial printing. The Digital Solutions & Lifecycle segment covers products and activities relating to software, service, consumables, and digital printing. The HEIDELBERG Technology segment primarily comprises activities outside the company’s core business, such as electromobility (Amperfied) and industry operations (production and technology solutions for third-party businesses).

In the Print & Packaging Equipment segment, sales in the first quarter increased by some 42 percent to € 211 million. Digital Solutions & Lifecycle sales matched the previous year’s level, totaling € 241 million. Sales after three months in the Technology Solutions segment were also at the same level as in the corresponding period of the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA improved in all the segments.

“Packaging printing remained a growth driver for our business in the first quarter,” said David Schmedding, Chief Technology & Sales Officer at HEIDELBERG. “This development reaffirms our growth strategy – the continuous and targeted expansion of our portfolio as a systems integrator for this key market segment. Our acquisition of Polar Mohr brand rights and technology to boost the productivity of value chains in packaging and label production is a further example of this approach.” he explained.

As HEIDELBERG sees it, playing a leading role as a systems integrator for packaging and digital printing with hybrid printing solutions and the company’s software and service business in a digital ecosystem can offer growth potential in its core business. In the Technology segment, the focus is on expanding the operation of charging infrastructure, including DC technology, and on unlocking new market segments.

MoU agreed on system partnership with defense specialist VINCORION

HEIDELBERG has embarked on its first project in the defense sector and agreed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on a system partnership with VINCORION Advanced Systems GmbH. This cooperation will see HEIDELBERG move into the defense market by developing, industrializing, and building power control and distribution systems for VINCORION. HEIDELBERG is aiming to become established as a reliable partner for high-quality products and gradually expand this role within the defense sector.

Full-year forecast confirmed

Following a positive start, the forecast for financial year 2025/26 is confirmed. In view of macroeconomic developments, taking into account the various opportunities and risks, and assuming the global economy does not see weaker growth than predicted by the relevant institutions, the company is expecting sales of around € 2,350 million in financial year 2025/26 (2024/25: € 2,280 million). The EBITDA margin adjusted for special items is predicted to rise to as much as 8 percent (previous year: 7.1 percent).

China-Japan Premium Rice Tasting: China’s Arowana WuChang Base Original Fragrant Rice Takes Top Prize

HIROSHIMA, Japan, July 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Japanese Society for Rice Quality and Palatability (JSRQP) held its 16th Annual Conference and Seminar in Hiroshima on November 6, 2024. As part of the event, the Premium Japonica Rice Tasting Session featured entries from across the region. Arowana WuChang Base Original Fragrant Rice, developed by Yihai Kerry Arawana Holdings Co., Ltd. (Arawana) and produced using the company’s proprietary Six-Step Precision Control Technology of Fresh Rice, stood out among the competition and earned the event’s highest distinction—the Excellence Award. Evaluated against Koshihikari, Japan’s best-known rice variety, and selected through a rigorous tasting process, the win has brought new attention to the high standards of Chinese-grown premium rice.

Rigorous Evaluation, Top Selection

During the China-Japan Premium Japonica Rice Tasting Session, a panel of 23 rice quality experts from both countries conducted a blind sensory evaluation. Using Koshihikari as the benchmark and applying Japanese tasting standards, judges assessed 21 anonymized rice samples for visual appeal, fragrance, stickiness, and texture. Arowana WuChang Base Original Fragrant Rice earned top marks for its translucent appearance, rich aroma, balanced stickiness, and soft mouthfeel, ultimately securing the coveted Excellence Award.

Freshness and Traceability: A Six-Step Precision Approach to Rice Quality

The award-winning rice owes its quality to Arawana’s Six-Step Precision Control Technology of Fresh Rice—a proprietary method that ensures optimal freshness through six key stages: timely harvesting, low-temperature drying, low-temperature storage, moderate milling, hypoxic packaging, and scientifically guided cooking. The process begins with timely harvesting, a step that is both the starting point and the most critical in preserving rice quality. Carried out when the grain reaches approximately 90% maturity—a stage that balances flavor development and yield optimization—this precision harvest not only enhances taste and texture but also reduces field losses by an estimated 5%, minimizing broken grains, dry matter loss, and damage from mechanical harvesting. Arawana’s method has been recognized with the Special Prize of the Science and Technology Award by the Chinese Cereals and Oils Association for its innovation and successful industrial-scale implementation.

Judges also acknowledged Arawana’s partnership with Sinochem Agriculture’s MAP beSide program, which provides full traceability from farm to shelf. Through scientifically managed fields and satellite monitoring, the program has played a key role in supporting consistent rice quality.

A New Chapter in ChinaJapan Rice Collaboration

Since its founding in 2009, the JSRQP has worked to improve the taste and quality of Japanese rice through careful cultivar selection and innovation in cultivation. The Excellence Award presented to Arowana WuChang Base Original Fragrant Rice—produced using the Six-Step Precision Control Technology—represents a meaningful moment in the deepening exchange between Chinese and Japanese rice growers. The two countries are expected to strengthen cooperation in rice quality research, with the shared goal of delivering superior taste experiences to consumers worldwide.

Champasack Bans Wildlife Collection and Trade

Wildlife on display at a rural market in Laos. (Photo credit: WCS)

Southern Laos’ Champasack Province on 25 July announced a ban on the collection, trading, and raising of wild animals and birds in their natural habitats, including earthworms, for commercial purposes.

Under the new regulations, violators face escalating penalties depending on the severity of their offense. Minor violations that do not constitute criminal acts will result in fines equivalent to twice the value of the damage caused to wildlife.

Repeat offenders will face harsher penalties. For example, violations involving Category II (Protected) species, such as porcupines, wild boars, and bats, will result in fines equal to four times the estimated damage value. Offenses involving Category III (General) species, like rats, lizards, Chinese francolins, and green snakes, will incur triple the damage value.

In more serious cases, authorities may impose educational measures, disciplinary actions, mandatory compensation, or even criminal prosecution.

All assets obtained through illegal wildlife activities will be confiscated and declared state property.

Individuals or businesses seeking to collect, trade, or raise wildlife for commercial purposes must submit detailed proposals to provincial authorities for review. Permission will be granted only if the animals are not on the prohibited list and the activity poses no threat to biodiversity or environmental sustainability.

Category I (Prohibited) such as tiger, red-shanked douc langur, and saola remain strictly off-limits for any use.

This follows an incident in neighboring Salavan Province on 20 July, when one greater hog badger and three endangered red-shanked douc langurs were found dead in the forest. The discovery sparked nationwide concern, leading to arrests on 22 July of those responsible for shooting the protected animals.
