Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has urged the authorities and local people of Nam Bak district, Luang Prabang Province to continue promoting the farming of their indigenous oranges.
Nam Bak district is well-known for producing indigenous oranges, mostly known as the Nam Bak orange.
“Nam Bak oranges have been famous for a long time and are unique. As a result, we should preserve and expand their farming areas to ensure their sustainable development for younger generations,” said the Prime Minister on the occasion of his working visit to the district on Aug 5.
Talking with senior officials of local authorities, Prime Minister Thongloun provided advice on development in the district to attract more visitors and generate greater incomes thus reducing poverty.
Prime Minister Thongloun also visited the Donkham Agriculture and Forestry Technical Service Centre where local people can learn how to increase quality production.
