AirAsia Celebrates Asean Day With Low Fares Across Region

This Week

AirAsia is offering promotional fares to Asean destinations in conjunction with Asean Day on Monday. Asean Day celebrates the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) with the signing of the Bangkok Declaration on August 8, 1967.

All-in fares start from only US$41 (about 332,000 kip), flying from Vientiane and Luang Prabang to Bangkok (Don Mueang) and Kuala Lumpur. Passengers will be able to explore destinations in other Asean nations – Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

At the same time, passengers can also take advantage of low fares to destinations beyond Asean on AirAsia and AirAsia X’s network covering North Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Africa.

Those flying AirAsia X can also upgrade to the award-winning Premium Flatbed seat – which offers better comfort in the low-cost cabin segment on long-haul flights.

The promotional fares can be booked from 8 August (0000, GMT +8) to 14 August (2400, GMT +8) for travel between 9 August 2016 and 6 April 2017.

They are applicable on AirAsia flights operated by AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK), AirAsia Thailand (FD), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), AirAsia Philippines (Z2), Malaysia AirAsia X (D7), Thai AirAsia X (XJ) and Indonesia AirAsia X (XT).

During this period, AirAsia BIG members can also earn 2x AirAsia BIG Points when they book flights to any destination, except on Malaysia AirAsia X (D7) routes.

“AirAsia would not be AirAsia without Asean. We owe our success to this region. Even as we continue to grow our footprint across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and beyond, our heart remains in Asean, and this promotion is a small thank you to the region that nurtured our dreams of making air travel affordable for everyone,” AirAsia Group CEO, Mr Tony Fernandes said.

“AirAsia is proud to be the only airline that flies direct to all 10 Asean nations. We are also the only airline with an A sean Pass product, which gives our guests a convenient way to explore our network and experience the region’s incredible diversity and amazing cultural heritage,” he added.

Holders of the AirAsia Asean Pass and AirAsia Asean Pass+ can enjoy flights at a fixed rate on more than 120 routes across Asean.

Acting like a single currency, the pass eliminates the hassle of juggling different foreign exchange rates as flights are valued according to credits, allowing passengers to be creative in planning their ideal trip through the region.
