Dutch Authorities Arrest Six People for Sending Ecstasy to Laos and Vietnam

This Week

Authorities in the Netherlands have arrested six people for attempting to send ecstasy pills to Laos and Vietnam.

DutchNews.nl reports that five people were arrested across Almere, Assen, and Loosdrecht on suspicion of attempting to send 47,000 ecstasy pills to Vietnam via regular post.

Police were notified of the drugs when a package was posted in Assen, in northeastern Netherlands. Three women and two men were arrested, while searches of their homes found more ecstasy pills and ketamine.

The five now remain in police custody.

Meanwhile, a sixth suspect from Zaandam was detained under suspicion of attempting to send 14.2 kilograms of ecstasy pills to Laos.

Despite the significant quantity of drugs, police did not disclose who the recipients in Laos were to be, nor the location to which the illicit substances were to be delivered.
