The Lao Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will discuss ways of explosive ordnance disposal and provide training to Lao soldiers in Nakai District, Khammouane Province.
Lao People’s Army News reports that 24 Russian army personnel arrived at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane Capital on Tuesday.
Col. Phathana Boudthichak, Deputy Head of the Office of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, welcomed the Russian soldiers.
He also thanked Col. Sergei Abramov, Head Department of Military Engineering, and his delegation for their visit from 17-24 November.
Through this exercise, Lao Ministry of Public Security hopes to strengthen its military prowess with the help of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It will also be an important contribution to enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
Laos and Russia have also started operating direct flights via Ural Airlines flying non-stop from Vladivostok, Russia.
