The global coffee chain is currently setting up its new café at Vientiane’s ViewMall and has started advertising on social media about staff requirements at the new store.
After the success of Starbucks’ first store in Laos which opened at Parkson mall in November last year, the coffee chain is looking at expanding its presence in the country, which produces some of the best coffee in the world.
ViewMall is located in the capital city’s Xaythany district and the new café is aimed at serving customers who live slightly further away from downtown Vientiane.
A source with knowledge of the matter told the Laotian Times that the new Starbucks outlet would be ready to open in late March. The company is also looking at opening more stores in Vientiane in 2023. There are no plans at the moment to expand to other popular tourist towns like Luang Prabang.
While some prefer visiting their local coffee shop for their morning cuppa, the opening of Starbucks as a globally renowned brand has been welcomed with much enthusiasm by Lao residents.
