Outlook, Teams and Other Microsoft Services Go Down Globally

Thousands of users around the world have been unable to access Teams, Outlook, Microsoft 365, and Xbox Live while Microsoft works on a fix.

According to data from the outage tracking website Downdetector, around 3,945 people are reporting the issue regarding the email platform Outlook in the UK, and 1,461 with Teams.

Japan and India also see over 3,900 incidents of people reporting the problem with Microsoft Teams.

There have been reports of outages from Australia, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates, as well, while it is reportedly back up and running in Malaysia and Myanmar.

During the outage, the majority of users report being unable to send or receive messages, join calls, or utilize any Teams program capabilities.

Addressing the issue, Microsoft has tweeted that it is working on a solution.

“We’ve identified a potential networking issue and are reviewing telemetry to determine the next troubleshooting steps,” said Microsoft.

The company later tweeted “We’ve isolated the problem to networking configuration issues, and we’re analyzing the best mitigation strategy to address these without causing additional impact,”

People not only took to social media to complain about the issue but people have also linked the problem to the company’s recent layoffs.

“What’s up with #MSTeams today? Did #Microsoft lay off the wrong folks or something?,” one social media user joked on Twitter
