Job Fest 2023 will be organized on 3-5 March 2023 at the International Cooperation and Training Center (ICTC) in Vientiane to provide career opportunities and consultation for job seekers in Laos.
A press conference discussed the objectives of the upcoming event at the UN House earlier this month with the presence of Ms. Ricarda Rieger, Resident Representative of UNDP in Laos, Mr. Keovisouk Dalasane, Managing Director of 108Jobs, and other officials.
Ricarda Rieger said at the event, ’’many countries say youth is the future, including Laos. However, before youth become our future, they need a good education, good opportunities, and good healthcare. They have the right to say their opinions, and their voice must be heard. As an observation, youth have different expectations of accessing job markets, especially after the pandemic, the hiring trend is also on the rise.”
“Many employers are also facing difficulties in finding the right people. Therefore, in collaboration with 108Jobs and L.LEE, “Job Fest 2023” connects organizations and job seekers and fulfills their needs. This event will have different activities, including panel discussions, workshops, career counseling, and other activities.” she noted.
UNDP, has many priorities, including digital promotion, which will be integrated into this job fest, alongside the promotion of aspects like diversity and inclusion.
As UNDP employs people with disability, the organization also encouraged other companies not to limit opportunities for people with disabilities or from the LGBTQI+ community and support gender equality and not include those factors in the recruitment process.
Keovisouk Dalasane urged the main target groups, including job seekers, pre and new graduates, first-time jobseekers, students, college students, persons with disabilities, and other participants, to attend the Job Fest 2023.
The Job Fest 2023 will bring together more than 50 companies with available positions. There will also be activities testing participants on their career readiness and essential skills.
Participants will join panel discussions, a salary survey, and a Lao Children Dream Jobs Survey presentation, information about jobs, a salary checker that will help job seekers with salary information, a career counseling booth, self-assessment, career exploration, and other activities.
There will be both live and online sessions, which will promote opportunities for employers as well as to understand the new era of employment.
