Four Million Amphetamine Pills Seized in Bolikhamxay

This Week

Bolikhamxay police seized 4 million amphetamine pills on Tuesday after discovering them in a house in the Thaphabath district. However, the drug traffickers managed to escape the scene.

After a resident filed a report with the police regarding drug trafficking in the district, the authorities coordinated with the Provincial Police of Suppression and Anti-narcotics Department and set out to seize the drugs and nab the people smuggling them.

Following some interrogations, the police discovered that the drugs were hidden at a local residence, ready to be transported to a neighboring country. The authorities then searched the entire property before finding the huge stack of narcotic substances.

The police were able to confiscate 2003 packages of drugs which contained over 4 amphetamine million pills weighing 447 kilograms. The drug traffickers managed to flee the scene prompting the police to set out a team to catch them.

Nevertheless, the authorities have not confirmed which neighboring country the drugs were meant to be transported to as the investigation is still ongoing.

Last week, Bokeo police managed to arrest three men for concealing 400 sticks of heroin inside a customized vehicle at the Nam Keng checkpoint.
