Hot weather will persist across Laos for the entire week, predicts the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The report anticipates that a low-pressure system of hot weather, ranging from weak to moderate intensity, is set to envelop the country in the coming week. This will intensify the existing westerly-southwesterly winds and lead to scorching temperatures and localized heavy rainfall in certain areas of the northwest and central regions.

Vientiane Capital is set to experience the usual hot weather with a low chance of light rain. The lowest temperature is predicted to be around 23-25 degrees. The highest, on the other hand, will hover around 35-37 degrees.

The northeast region will see moderately hot weather with dry fog, similar to last week. Some areas could experience heavy rain and thunderstorms. The minimum temperature will be between 19 and 22 degrees, and the maximum could reach up to 30 and 33 degrees.

In contrast, the northwest region will experience hotter weather, with temperatures reaching up to 38-39 degrees. The lowest temperature will be around 23-25 degrees. Residents in this area can expect light to heavy rain and strong winds towards the end of the week.

Central Laos will also experience scorching weather with dry fog during the day. There is a slight possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in certain areas. The minimum temperature in this region is expected to be around 22-24 degrees and the maximum temperature may rise to 35-38 degrees.

One of the provinces in central Laos, Xaysomboun, will experience slightly colder weather than the other provinces with the temperature ranging between 26-32 degrees.

Southern Laos will also be subject to extremely hot weather. Light rain, with occasional thunderstorms, is possible in some areas. The lowest temperature will be between 24-28 degrees with the highest ranging from 36-39 degrees.

Bolaven plateau, although still the coldest place in the country, will experience higher temperatures than usual in the coming days. The minimum temperature will be between 17-19 degrees, while the maximum will be around 28-30 degrees.
