According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s most recent weather forecast, this week could bring mild to heavy rain throughout Laos.

Southwest monsoon has now set in Laos and the country is expected to experience slight to heavy downpours this week alongside thunderstorms, and strong winds.

Vientiane Capital will see some fog, light to moderate amounts of rain and thunderstorms, and high winds. The lowest temperature would be between 23 and 25 degrees, and the highest would hover between 25 and 27 degrees.

A moderate amount of rain and thunderstorms are expected in the northeast region, and there will be high winds in some places. The minimum temperature will range from 19 to 23, while the maximum is only expected to be around 28 or 30 degrees.

While the northwest will have warmer weather than the northeast, residents may still see some light rain to bring the temperature down. The peak temperature would rise to 36-38 degrees, even while the lowest temperature might dip to 22–24 degrees.

Central Laos would see similar temperatures to that of the northwest, while Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, and Savannakhet may experience heavy rain, severe thunderstorms, and high winds. This region will see minimum temperatures ranging between 22–24 degrees and a high of 35–38 degrees.

Xaysomboun province would experience colder weather than the rest of the provinces in central Laos, with light to moderate rain and, in some areas, a brisk cold wind. The lowest temperature will be 18 to 20 degrees, and the highest will be 26 to 30 degrees.

The majority of southern Laos will be covered in a dry fog, followed by brief rainfall and thunderstorms. However, by the end of the week, residents of Salavanh and Champasack provinces can anticipate significant rainfall. The lowest temperature will be between 23 and 26 degrees throughout the night, but as the day wears on, it will gradually warm up. The highest temperature could be between 35 and 38 degrees.

The weather on the Bolaven plateau will not vary much from last week, according to the report. The minimum and maximum temperatures will remain between 18-20 degrees, and the maximum will be 27-29 degrees. It is also reported that there will be some rain and thunderstorms.
