Several Areas in Vientiane to Face Power Outages from 5 to 9 June

Electricité du Laos (EDL) announced that several areas in Vientiane are set to face power outages lasting several hours during daytime from 5 to 9 June.

According to a notice issued on 3 June, the outages are necessary to carry out maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installation, and electricity pole relocation, affecting areas across three districts,  Xaysettha, Sikhottabong, and Chanthabouly.

Residents in Soknoy village of Xaysettha district, mostly along the 450-Year Road, will be the hardest hit, facing eight hours of outage daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for three straight days from 5 to 7 June, and again on 9 June during the same hours.

On 5 June and again on 9 June, Nahai village and parts of Chomsi village, also in Xaysettha district, will lose power for five hours from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On 8 June, Doung village in the same district will face eight hours of outage from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In Sikhottabong district on 7 June, many villages including Nahae, Nonsawang, Viengsavanh, Sisomsuen, Donsingsou, Dankham, and Kaoliew will face a nine-hour outage from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while Nongbuathong, Hongkha, and Phonsavard Tai villages in the same district will face a shorter two-hour cut from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

Meanwhile, on 7 June, residents near Patuxay Monument in Sisawat village, Chanthabouly district, will face four hours of outage from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
