New Official Titles Announced for Provincial, District Leadership

This Week

On 14 July, the Party Central Committee’s Organising Bureau announced updated official titles for positions within the Party and state administrative systems at the provincial and district executive committee levels.

The changes are intended to reduce confusion during the ongoing government transition period following the recent political reshuffle.

At the provincial level, officials have been instructed to continue using current titles, such as Mayor or Governor, until the plenary meetings of the provincial and municipal executive committees are completed.

This temporary measure is designed to maintain administrative continuity while new Party committees are being formed.

Once these new committees receive formal approval and their internal roles are defined, titles will be officially updated to President of the Provincial Administrative Committee, reflecting the new Party-State coordination structure.

At the district level, titles are to be immediately standardised as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the District Executive Committee.

This change brings the district-level naming in line with the provincial format and supports greater consistency across all tiers of administration.

The Central Party Organising Committee emphasised that these title adjustments are part of a broader initiative to improve organisational clarity and operational efficiency within the Party.

Establishing clear, uniform titles is particularly important during leadership transitions and for effective coordination across levels of government.
