Korean Organization Donates Ambulances to Laos

Korea’s ASA Foundation has donated a fleet of ambulances to Laos to assist in the country’s Covid-19 prevention efforts.

The donation was handed over by Founder of ASA, Mr. Jeong Sung Jin, to Lao National Assembly Secretary, Mr. Bountun Bounvilai.

Korean Ambassador to Laos, Ms. Im Moohong also attended the handover ceremony.

The emergency vehicles will be put to use in Vientiane Province, Salavanh Province, and will be used by the Lao Red Cross.

The National Assembly of Laos has also signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the foundation (ASA) to strengthen relations between Laos and Korea.

Ambassador Im and the delegation of ASA Foundation also paid a courtesy call on Vice President of the National Assembly, Khambay Damlath, to inform him about the work of the visiting party and its aim to open an ASA office in Laos.

Korean charities have often provided Laos with support for its emergency services, with the Sharing Culture Arts Association of Korea providing four fire trucks as well as associated fire prevention equipment for distribution to four provinces of Laos in 2016.
