Huawei James Chen: Taking Triple Leaps to AI UBB and Inspiring New Business Growth

PARIS, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — At the 11th Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF) 2025, James Chen, the President of Huawei’s Carrier Business, shared a number of new best practices the company has developed with operators that drive growth with AI-powered ultra-broadband (UBB). In his keynote speech, “Triple Leaps to AI UBB: Inspiring New Business Growth,” Chen said operators have taken leaps in depth, breadth, and height to create new growth in the AI UBB era.

“Leapfrog innovations drive great business success,” he said. “Operators can seize this major opportunity to create new growth by deepening experience assurance capabilities, expanding business boundaries to include digital and intelligent services, and competing at higher levels by accelerating network intelligence.” Based on operators’ practices in different sectors, Chen interpreted the leaps in three dimensions of innovation: depth, breadth, and height.

A leap in depth: Driving a paradigm shift from bandwidth- to experience-centric monetization

Carriers combine AI capabilities with networks to accurately detect where application experience improvements are needed and proactively ensure the experience of key applications such as AI cloud gaming and 4K livestreaming, achieving a leap from user-level to application-level experience monetization.

An example of how this new monetization model helps operators is a leading operator from Thailand that has used Huawei’s AI WAN solution to develop new application-level experience assurance capabilities. This has enabled users to enjoy a smoother gaming experience, while the operator has drastically increased average revenue per user (ARPU).

A leap in breadth: Pushing the business boundaries to include digital intelligence and computing services

  • In the home network market: Global operators collectively have over 1 billion home gateways, which give them a natural advantage in upgrading from home network providers to smart home service providers. This year, Huawei developed a new home gateway – the AI Homehub. One operator has rolled out smart home services using this home gateway and increased its ARPU of home services by 60%.
  • In the SME market: Operators can use fiber to the office (FTTO) solutions to build a unified management platform, and provide SMEs with standard digital and intelligent services such as video and IoT services, helping enterprises realize intelligent transformation. Huawei has developed a series of FTTO solutions. China’s three major carriers have already commercially used solutions such as these at scale to develop more than 2 million FTTO users.
  • In the mid-sized and large enterprise market: Operators are using Wi-Fi-based integrated sensing and communications to develop new tools for growth. For example, some operators have used the technology in scenarios such as fall detection in elderly care and intelligent meeting room management for enterprises. A leading operator from UAE has used Huawei’s AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 to provide Wi-Fi-as-a-Service offerings, which help enterprises reduce the TCO of a meeting room sensing system by 67%.
  • In the blue-ocean market of AI enterprise services: More enterprises are accessing cloud compute and require on-premise data processing, which requires networks that support new capabilities such as lossless transmission, elasticity, and security. This means computing-network service opportunities for operators. Huawei has worked with China Telecom Shanghai to develop an intelligent IP WAN with high computing usage effectiveness (CUE). This network enables enterprise customers to expand compute capacity in just weeks with less than 5% CUE loss.

A leap in height: Network O&M transformation from work-order-driven operations to intelligent operations

Operators can drive level 4 network autonomy for more intelligent networks to move away from work-order-driven operations towards intelligent operations.

For example, Huawei has worked with MasOrange in Spain to build Europe’s first level 4 autonomous IP network. Using iMaster NCE, the operator has been able to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR), which in turn helps to enhance user satisfaction.

Chen wrapped up his speech by saying that AI UBB is just starting out, and that Huawei is excited to work with operators and industry partners to pursue continuous innovation. The company aims to help operators succeed in the AI era through experience monetization, a second growth curve, and OPEX reduction.

Co-PSMA trial achieves primary endpoint

SYDNEY, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Clarity Pharmaceuticals (ASX: CU6) (“Clarity” or “Company”), a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company with a mission to develop next-generation products that improve treatment outcomes for patients with cancer, is pleased to announce that the Co-PSMA (NCT06907641)[1] Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT), led by Prof Louise Emmett at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, has achieved its primary endpoint with a statistically significant higher number of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive prostate cancer lesions detected using 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA compared to standard-of-care (SOC) 68Ga-PSMA-11 positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in patients with low prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels.

Co-PSMA’s official study title is “Comparative performance of 64Copper [64Cu]-SAR-bisPSMA vs. 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET CT for the detection of prostate cancer recurrence in the setting of biochemical failure following radical prostatectomy”. This Phase II IIT is evaluating the performance of Clarity’s diagnostic product, 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA, in comparison to SOC 68Ga-PSMA-11 in 50 patients with low PSA who are candidates for curative salvage therapy. Eligible patients were required to have had radical prostatectomy with no salvage therapy and a PSA level between 0.2 and 0.75 ng/mL.

The Co-PSMA trial has successfully met its primary endpoint, demonstrating that 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA PET/CT detects significantly more lesions per patient than the SOC, 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT. This result supports the hypothesis that 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA can improve early detection of recurrence and staging of prostate cancer in patients with low PSA who are candidates for curative salvage therapy. Full analysis of all data generated in the Co-PSMA trial is underway, and results of this study will be presented at an upcoming international conference.

The Co-PSMA topline results corroborate findings from the COBRA trial[2], which investigated the diagnostic performance of 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA in patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer who had a negative or equivocal SOC scan at study entry. In the COBRA study, a subset of participants underwent follow-up SOC PSMA PET imaging. Only 60% of these participants had a positive SOC PSMA PET, while 70% of participants had a positive 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA PET on same-day imaging and 90% on next-day imaging. The number of lesions across all participants (average sum of lesions across all readers) identified by 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA was also higher (26.3 lesions on same-day imaging, 52.6 on next-day imaging) than that detected by SOC PET agents (20 lesions). The COBRA trial results showed that 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA was able to identify lesions more than 6 months earlier than SOC PSMA PET agents, with 6 months being the last follow-up visit for that trial.

The Co-PSMA trial further builds on the growing body of evidence of the enhanced diagnostic performance of 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA compared to SOC PSMA PET agents, which are known to have low sensitivity, especially in patients with low PSA levels[3],[4]. Improvements in sensitivity, as with all diagnostic agents, play a pivotal role in guiding more informed treatment decisions, enabling earlier and more accurate detection of prostate cancer recurrence and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Dr Alan Taylor, Executive Chairperson of Clarity Pharmaceuticals, commented: “Achieving the primary endpoint in the Co-PSMA trial, which was a head-to-head trial against a SOC competing product, is yet another important step in the development of 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA as we look to further validate this agent as best-in-class through two registrational trials with two Fast Track Designations (FTDs) under our belt for diagnostic applications and a strong focus on commercialisation.

“We look forward to Prof Emmett releasing the full Co-PSMA trial data at world-leading congresses as we continue to adhere to the highest standards of clinical research in our aspirations to bring a best-in-class diagnostic option to men with prostate cancer with clear evidence of superiority. We have already seen in the first-in-human PROPELLER trial an improved diagnostic performance of 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA compared to 68Ga-PSMA-11 on same-day imaging, including a higher number of lesions identified and 2-3 times higher tumour uptake and tumour-to-background ratio[5]. We then showed in the COBRA trial that approximately twice the amount of lesions was identified on 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA PET on next-day vs. same-day imaging, and vs. SOC PSMA PET[2]64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA also allowed for the identification of lesions in the 2-mm range, something that SOC PSMA PET agents often fail to achieve[2], [6-9]. This improvement was driven by a substantially increased tumour-to-background ratio and lesion uptake over time with next-day imaging[2].

“The current market for PSMA PET imaging in the US alone is around US$2 billion per year, and this is expected to further grow to over US$3 billion by 2029. However, this entire market is currently served by products that have low sensitivity, while the development pipeline of new products, excluding 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA, offers no differentiation from the existing agents, with some new entrants commercialising the unpatented 68Ga-PSMA-11 agent, which has been capitalised on by three separate groups already. We believe that with the clinical and logistical benefits offered by 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA we could not only become the new SOC in PSMA PET but grow the market opportunity further by diagnosing prostate cancer earlier, while lesions are still very small.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Prof Emmett, a world-renowned thought leader in the radiopharmaceutical space, in our home city of Sydney on progressing clinical development of the 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA product, including our CLARIFY and AMPLIFY Phase III trials. This partnership will ensure we continue to generate the highest quality of data supporting our New Drug Applications (NDAs) to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the next step towards our mutual goal of improving treatment outcomes for men with prostate cancer.”

About SAR-bisPSMA

SAR-bisPSMA derives its name from the word “bis”, which reflects a novel approach of connecting two PSMA-targeting agents to Clarity’s proprietary sarcophagine (SAR) technology that securely holds copper isotopes inside a cage-like structure, called a chelator. Unlike other commercially available chelators, the SAR technology prevents copper leakage into the body. SAR-bisPSMA is a Targeted Copper Theranostic (TCT) that can be used with isotopes of copper-64 (Cu-64 or 64Cu) for imaging and copper-67 (Cu-67 or 67Cu) for therapy.

Disclaimer

64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA is an unregistered product. The safety and efficacy of 64Cu-SAR-bisPSMA have not been assessed by health authorities such as the US FDA or the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). There is no guarantee that this product will become commercially available.

HEX Launches Next-Generation Protective Gear with NBA Superstar Kyrie Irving

Irving joins HEX to showcase the brand’s most advanced protective line yet, engineered with cutting-edge design to deliver lightweight, flexible, and breathable protection for the modern athlete.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — HEX, the next-generation protective gear line from McDavid, today announced the launch of its most advanced performance apparel collection yet, engineered with cutting-edge design to deliver lightweight, flexible, and breathable protection for athletes who compete at the highest level. NBA superstar Kyrie Irving will play a leading role in showcasing the new products, bringing his experience and passion for performance to the forefront as HEX redefines what modern protective gear can deliver.

Irving has worn HEX products throughout his NBA career and continues to embody the fearless, high-intensity play style that HEX was built for. His influence and inspiration have been key to advancing the new HEX launch, helping shape gear that gives athletes the confidence to push harder, play tougher, and perform at their peak.

“HEX gives me peace of mind on the court. Basketball is such a combative sport, and wearing HEX lets me stay aggressive and play my game at the highest level without worrying about the collisions that come with it,” said Kyrie Irving. “For me, it’s not just about injury prevention, it’s about having the freedom to compete with no fear.”

HEX was created for hoopers who play fearlessly, specifically engineered to protect key impact zones with lightweight performance gear that moves as fast and hard as the athletes who wear it. The new HEX collection represents the next evolution in basketball protection, engineered with advanced design to provide targeted, lightweight coverage in high-impact zones, giving players the confidence to attack every play.

The New HEX Product Line

  • HEX Leg Sleeves (pair) – Built for the grind of the game, these sleeves deliver lightweight, low-profile protection for knees and shins, keeping players explosive on both ends of the court without sacrificing comfort or mobility. Available in black and white.
  • HEX Arm Sleeve – Engineered for impact absorption and freedom of movement, the HEX Arm Sleeve combines protection with flexibility, helping athletes attack every play with confidence. Available in black and white.
  • HEX Short Sleeve T-Shirt – Designed for battles in the paint, the HEX T-Shirt integrates protective padding into a performance-fit top, giving hoopers upper-body coverage that moves as seamlessly as they do. Available in white.
  • HEX Full-Length Leg Sleeve – We extended the length of our best-selling leg sleeve at both ends to create one of the hottest accessory looks in the game enhanced with contoured padding on the knee. Available in black with pink pads.
  • HEX Knee/Elbow/Shin Pads (pair) – Our most versatile padded offering easily fits on your knees, elbows or shins to give you protection where you need it most. Available in black and white.

HEX Technology: Protection, Reinvented

  • 40% thinner pads (5mm vs. 9mm) with the same level of protection.
  • Die-cut HEX shapes that flex and wrap around joints for greater mobility.
  • Micro-ventilated, breathable fabric with pinholes for cooling and comfort.
  • Premium construction with finished edges and silicone binding for a secure, “barely there” feel.
  • Durability tested by athletes to withstand high-intensity play and repeated washing.

“HEX has always been about giving athletes the confidence to play without limits,” said Phil Gyori, CEO of United Sports Brands, parent company of McDavid and HEX. “With the launch of this next-generation line and Kyrie Irving stepping in to help spotlight it, we’re not just protecting athletes, we’re pushing them forward. ReconArt’s customers – accounting and finance teams operating under relentless regulatory scrutiny – are seeing fewer disruptions, faster audits, and greater trust in their data.

“ReconArt exemplifies how financial organizations can turn compliance and security into a growth advantage,” said Chris Drake, Founder and CEO of Armor Defense. “By integrating Oracle Cloud Guard and Security Zones, we’re helping enterprises protect what matters most – without slowing innovation.”

Powered by Armor’s intelligent security operations and Oracle’s high-performance infrastructure, ReconArt ensures every transaction is trusted, every audit is simplified, and every growth opportunity is secure.
