Altera Digital Health signs new agreement with SingHealth to enhance healthcare delivery through technology

The continued partnership will support SingHealth in streamlining its clinical workflows to enhance care coordination

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 20 July 2022 – Altera Digital Health, formerly the Allscripts Hospitals and Large Physician Practices business segment, a global leader in healthcare IT, has signed a multi-year agreement with Singapore’s largest public healthcare group, SingHealth, for the use of its Sunrise™ suite of healthcare IT solutions across its group of institutions. The partnership is an extension of an agreement signed with Allscripts in 2017, and will continue through to 2029 and provide SingHealth with ongoing support of Altera Digital Health’s electronic medical record (EMR) platform. SingHealth, supported by the national HealthTech agency Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS), has used the SunriseTM Clinical Manager System since 1998, and the comprehensive EMR platform suite will continue to elevate SingHealth’s multi-disciplinary and integrated care approach for more than 20,000 healthcare professionals in its network of acute hospitals, national specialty centres, community hospitals and polyclinics, which serves more than half of Singapore’s population.

“We are very excited to continue our partnership with SingHealth, which marks the first step of our Altera journey in Singapore and the region,” said Marcus Perez, President of Altera Digital Health. “Altera Digital Health is committed to driving a new era of healthcare powered by the Platform of Health; one with greater interoperability and lessened information burden that drives value-based care for improved health outcomes.”

Anna Grammare, General Manager of Altera Digital Health Singapore, added, “Our partnership with SingHealth to deliver our SunriseTM suite is a strong representation of how we can support healthcare ecosystems with the foundation for the Platform of Health. Through our platform approach, we hope to enhance the way healthcare is delivered while alleviating healthcare workers’ workloads and inspiring healthier communities.”

The SunriseTM solution suite is a comprehensive, open platform that connects all aspects of care across multiple healthcare disciplines. Equipped with application programming interfaces (APIs), the highly configurable platform will continue to be implemented by IHiS to adapt to SingHealth’s clinical workflows and integrate with its suite of systems for seamless interoperability. The use of SunriseTM will also serve as an interface which SingHealth and IHiS can use to build their own healthcare IT solutions on, enabling greater expandability, flexibility and scalability of its clinician-specific workflows that can lead to more seamless patient care.

Professor Ivy Ng, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth, said, “As healthcare needs of Singaporeans continue to evolve, SingHealth is committed to leveraging technology and digital solutions as key enablers to improve care delivery and clinical outcomes, optimise resources and enhance the patient experience. We are heartened to partner with Altera Digital Health, with support from the Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS), to strengthen our healthcare technological capabilities. To this end, we hope to galvanise technological advances and develop more innovative solutions to address healthcare challenges now and for the future.”

Human-centred design creating enhanced interoperability for the healthcare sector

The SunriseTM platform will support SingHealth in strengthening its care management processes and advancing its continued delivery of reliable, quality healthcare to Singaporeans. As part of the partnership, SingHealth will also gain dedicated access to Altera Digital Health’s specialised technical consulting team, which will provide guidance on enabling additional functionalities and efficiencies in the future that are in line with the healthcare group’s strategic direction.

The system’s scalable technology to digitise the complex processes of clinical care on the EMR platform allows clinicians at SingHealth to manage patients’ health records more effectively and focus on delivering more value-based care for their patients. Through the platform’s sophisticated features that act as an information hub, clinicians can also holistically review patients’ health records and care plans with a view to improve population health outcomes. Additionally, SunriseTM is integrated with internationally-accepted healthcare terminology that clinicians can utilise to identify patterns of care and to gain additional insights for optimised healthcare delivery.

Innovations that are developed for and empowers clinicians

Altera Digital Health’s partnership with SingHealth demonstrates the company’s commitment and investment in healthcare in the Asia region, following its recent acquisition into the N. Harris Computer Corporation family and rebranding. It also represents a significant milestone in the healthcare IT company’s path towards delivering the Platform of Health, as it will also leverage any learnings and best practices to achieve further scalability in its tech infrastructure for future digital acceleration of healthcare institutions.

Amidst the changing needs in the healthcare industry, Altera Digital Health is focused on delivering innovation across the entire care continuum and strengthening optimization for hospital systems, creating long-term interoperability and revolutionising how healthcare can be delivered.

Mastercard and AXA Announce Partnership to Build a Sustainable Future through the Priceless Planet Coalition

AXA, the first insurance partner of the Coalition in Hong Kong, will plant trees around the world on behalf of customers who have registered to use Emma by AXA.

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 20 July 2022 Mastercard and AXA Hong Kong and Macau (“AXA”) today announced a partnership to empower AXA’s customers to contribute to forest restoration through the Priceless Planet Coalition. As the Priceless Planet Coalition’s first insurance partner in Hong Kong, AXA will work together with Mastercard to advance environmentally conscious endeavors. The collaboration will be underscored by AXA’s contribution to the Coalition’s goal of restoring 100 million trees globally by 2025.

Today, AXA also activated a new customer engagement campaign to plant trees around the world on behalf of customers who have downloaded and registered for “Emma by AXA” – AXA’s all-in-one insurance and health services digital platform – from now until December 31, 2022. AXA will also leverage its staff, agents, and partners to amplify the Coalition’s work via the promotion of eService adoption to further reduce paper usage while enhancing the customer experience.

Mastercard launched the Priceless Planet Coalition in January 2020 to unite the environmental efforts of consumers, financial institutions, merchants and cities. This was done in conjunction with climate science and forest restoration experts Conservation International and World Resources Institute. The Coalition is currently running 18 restoration projects around the world including sites within the Chinese mainland, maximizing the Coalition’s climate, community, and biodiversity commitments.

Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Greater China, said, “At AXA, our purpose is to act for human progress by protecting what matters. As one of the global insurance leaders in combatting the biggest challenge of our century – climate change, we certainly have an important role to play and are honored to be the first insurer joining the Coalition to amplify our impact with like-minded partners. We believe that joint efforts across industries are essential to addressing climate challenges and building a greener future.”

Helena Chen, Managing Director, Hong Kong and Macau, Mastercard, said: “Through the Priceless Planet Coalition’s long-term commitment to environmental conservation, Mastercard is uniting its network in climate action to achieve the goal of restoring 100 million trees by 2025. In Hong Kong, Mastercard proudly welcomes AXA as the Coalition’s first insurance member in this market. Mastercard is pleased to work with AXA, a partner that shares its commitment to the wellbeing of our planet.”

Both companies have a shared vision of climate action with a focus on fighting climate change. On a global scale, AXA is aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025 while Mastercard has committed to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

In Hong Kong, AXA has launched various climate and environmental initiatives which include the free “AXA Climate School” program for all full-time university undergraduates in the city, and market-first Green Premium Rebate for employee benefits clients. Other efforts include investing in green assets which have exceeded HK$4 billion as of February 2022 and the migration to use eServices to reduce paper usage. Furthermore, AXA Group has also lined up other commitments on sustainability, including its target to reach €26 billion in green investments by 2023 and an investment of €1.5 billion to support sustainable forest management.

Meanwhile, Mastercard continues to build an inclusive and sustainable digital economy through contactless payments and other innovative technologies. In March 2021, Mastercard issued its first-ever Sustainability Bond, allotting US$600 million to support carbon reduction. In addition, Mastercard is equipping consumers and businesses with certified sustainable cards made from eco-friendly materials through Mastercard’s Sustainable Card Materials Directory. At the end of 2021, 60 million Mastercard-branded cards had been produced with approved sustainable materials.

Aon Study Finds Business Interruption and Economic Slowdown as Top Risks in South Korea

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Media OutReach – 20 July 2022 – Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, has announced the results of its 2021 Global Risk Management Survey for South Korea. The study gathers input from thousands of risk managers globally every two years to identify key risks and challenges their organisations are facing. The past two years have proved to be incredibly volatile, with the global COVID-19 pandemic having a ripple effect across other types of risk, such as heightened awareness of reputation and cyber, as long-tail risks have become increasingly important to manage.

The 2021 edition surveyed more than 2,300 respondents in 60 countries/territories across 16 industries at both public and private companies. With more emphasis and reliance on technology, cyber risk topped the list as the number one current and predicted future risk globally, its highest rank since the inception of the survey. In South Korea, Business Interruption and Economic Slowdown topped the list in 2021, while Property Damage and Environmental, Social and Governance risks were cited as two of the projected top five risks for 2024.

The top 10 risks in South Korea strongly reflect the current landscape, namely COVID-19 and its impact on organisations amidst a backdrop of challenging market conditions: supply disruptions, delayed infrastructure projects and workforce shortages. This is testing the ability of firms to manage volatility and make better decisions. Organisations are shifting their focus from event-based to impact-based risk assessments: for example, business interruption was once seen as a linear risk, but COVID-19 and geopolitical risks have demonstrated how it can affect multiple industries and companies simultaneously and globally.

“As we see increasing volatility in South Korea, the importance of decision making has never been greater,” said Kevin Kim, CEO, South Korea at Aon. “The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated supply risks, inflation and economic slowdown, revealing new risks and re-ordering priorities for organisations. Leaders must manage these immediate risks without compromising firms’ ability to invest in managing the risks of tomorrow.”

The top 10 risks for South Korea according to the 2021 Global Risk Management Survey are:
1. Business Interruption
2. Economic Slowdown/Slow Recovery
3. Corporate Social Responsibility (Environmental, Social and Governance)
4. Pandemic Risk/Health Crises
5. Increasing Competition
6. Supply Chain or Distribution Failure
7. Accelerated Rates of Change in Market Factors
8. Regulatory/Legislative Changes
9. Property Damage
10. Environmental Risk

Conducted every two years since 2007, Aon’s Global Risk Management Survey provides data and insights to enable better decision making around risk in an increasingly volatile and complex business environment. The full report is available here. The report highlights the top 10 risks by industry and region, as well as risk readiness, associated losses and mitigation actions for each of the top 10 risks. In addition, the report includes the predicted top 10 risks in the next three years and Aon’s analysis of underrated risks.

The Lash Icon Utilises New, Specialised Tool For Its Eyebrow Microblading Services

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 20 July 2022 – A professional and established brow and lash salon in Singapore, The Lash Icon now houses the latest technology for its eyebrow microblading service – Hyper Realistic Brows. The full eyebrow style now utilises Nano Brow Machine Hair Strokes to create its signature hyper-realistic brow strokes, a less invasive technique than its counterpart, microblading.

Instead of the manual microblading that uses blades, this new and growingly popular technique incorporates a nano machine that can implant slightly deeper pigments compared to microblading treatment. With this new application, it allows the skin to accept pigment better in general. Additionally, the machine-hair strokes allow the eyebrow strokes to appear finer as compared to microblading. Though similar processes are taken for the nano machine as for microblading, the effects of the machine-hair strokes procedure lasts longer than that of microblading. In comparison, the results of the machine-hair strokes technique can last between 2 to 2.5 years, depending on the client’s skin type and lifestyle, whereas microblading lasts up to 18 months on average.

The incorporation of the latest technology came about as a result of The Lash Icon’s dedication to providing professional and reliable lash and brow services in Singapore. The machine-based technology allows usage on all skin types, even on sensitive and oily skin, as it causes less trauma to the skin as compared to microblading. In addition, clients with highly delicate or immensely oily skin may not be ideal candidates for microblading. Thus, The Lash Icon’s incorporation of the machine-hair strokes technology makes for an alternative solution for affected clients. This comes from the fact that The Lash Icon strives to place a heavy emphasis on its clients’ priorities and personal self-esteem in order to provide an excellent service and give optimal solutions to their eyebrow concerns.

The Lash Icon is a highly experienced, adept, and trusted lash and brow salon in Singapore, specialising in thorough eyelash and eyebrow treatments with in-depth consultations and aftercare to ensure maximum eyelash and eyebrow retention and comfort level. With the utilisation of high-quality products and the latest technology for its services, The Lash Icon strives to provide clients with the experience of hassle-free beauty every day.

uSMART Securities announces 0% commission fees and relocation of headquarters to Singapore

  • In celebration of their 4th anniversary, the intelligent brokerage app will be offering 0% commission fees from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2022
  • uSMART also announced the shift in their global headquarters that will be established in Singapore, a move that signals strong belief in the growth of Singapore’s retail investor market

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach20 July 2022 – uSMART Securities (“uSMART”), a leading next generation online brokerage, is celebrating its 4th anniversary with the launch of a 0% commission campaign promotion.

From now until 31 December 2022, all users on the uSMART app will enjoy zero commission for equity trading across all available markets (Singapore, US, and Hong Kong), and no US settlement fees charges. The move aligns with uSMART’s vision to encourage the adoption of retail investing through a combination of investor education and professional yet easy-to-use features, in the meantime making them the broker with the lowest cost in Singapore.

uSMART is an intelligent investment app with a core mission of promoting ‘smart’ trading and improving the sophistication of retail investors, backed by strategic investors such as Hong Kong conglomerate Chow Tai Fook. Through the app, uSMART provides access to financial education, expert advice, and features that lower the required starting capital needed for investment. uSMART also announced the launch of fractional share investing for US stocks in May 2022, a rare feature only offered by a select few online brokers. With fractional shares – stock units that amount to less than one full share – investors can maximise returns and diversify portfolios even with a smaller capital output.

“In Singapore, we believe that there is an untapped market of potential investors in a younger demographic that are put off by the traditionally high barriers of entry”, said Ian Leong, Chief Executive Officer, uSMART Singapore. “By removing commission and US settlement fees and offering fractional shares on our platform, we have drastically lowered the financial costs of entry, which we hope will tap into a whole generation of new retail investors.”

In a strategic move that further signals its commitment to the Singapore market and the region, uSMART also announced the move of its global headquarters here. “We have witnessed an exponential growth in retail investor participation in Asia over the last two years. Singapore makes strategic sense for our headquarters given its position as the region’s financial hub, which offers us greater access to an international talent pool and investment capital to support our global business expansion,” said Leong.
