Q3 2026 ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey - APME Key Findings
Q3 2026 ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey – APME Key Findings

The survey of 13,168 employers across 11 APME countries and territories found that 43% of employers plan to increase headcount in the coming quarter, 15% anticipate a decrease in staffing levels, while 41% expect no change. This results in a seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook (NEO) of +28%, down 10 points from Q2 2026, while remaining unchanged year over year.

“The broad moderation in hiring sentiment across the region reflects a far more complex operating environment in Q3, shaped by geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and rising cost pressures,” said François Lançon, Regional President, Asia Pacific & Middle East, ManpowerGroup. “These forces are affecting markets unevenly, dampening confidence in more trade‑ and energy‑exposed economies, while growth markets with strong domestic demand and technology momentum show relative resilience. Even so, employers are taking a more cautious approach to hiring as the downstream effects of higher energy and operating costs continue to unfold.”

Beyond hiring intentions, the survey examined which technical and interpersonal skills employers are willing to pay a premium for in the coming quarter. Employers in APME report being willing to pay a premium for technical skills including AI literacy (69%), AI model and application development (68%), and sales and marketing skills (66%). While soft skills employers in the region are willing to pay a premium for include communication, collaboration, and teamwork (74%), followed by critical thinking and problem‑solving (71%), with adaptability and willingness to learn, as well as professionalism and work ethic tied for third at 70%.

Smooth Motor Advances Across Robotics and Intelligent Automation Industries Through 30 Years of Rapid Engineering Response

NINGBO, China, June 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Robotics, semiconductor equipment, and intelligent automation systems are evolving at an accelerating pace, placing OEM manufacturers under growing engineering and supply chain pressure. Product development cycles continue to shorten while system complexity keeps rising. Expectations for validation efficiency, long term reliability, and cost control are becoming increasingly demanding across the industry.

The competitive landscape of motion control manufacturing is also undergoing a fundamental shift. OEM manufacturers are placing greater attention on whether motor suppliers can quickly understand application requirements, shorten validation cycles, and maintain stable collaboration throughout continuously evolving development processes.

With more than 30 years of experience in motion control manufacturing, Smooth Motor has continued expanding across robotics, semiconductor systems, laboratory automation, and precision equipment industries, driven by rapid engineering response capability built through decades of accumulation. The company has steadily evolved into a deeper engineering partner involved throughout customer development processes.

In recent years, global demand for high precision, compact, and customized motion solutions has continued growing across industries ranging from semiconductor equipment and laboratory automation to robotic actuation systems. More projects now require motion control systems capable not only of delivering precision and reliability, but also of supporting faster validation and adapting to constantly changing structural requirements.

Smooth Motor has remained focused on stepper motor and precision motion technologies for decades. Its portfolio covers hybrid stepper motors, linear stepper motors, can stack motors, voice coil motors, compact stepper motors, geared motors, smart integrated motors, coreless motors, as well as transmission components and customized motion modules. Supported by accumulated product development and machining expertise, the company is able to respond more efficiently to customer requirements involving structure, performance, and operating environments.

For a growing number of OEM manufacturers, rapid response is no longer simply about delivery speed.

It also reflects whether engineering, manufacturing, and supply chains can move together under the same rhythm while continuously adapting to rapidly changing market demands.

According to Smooth Motor, this capability is not built through short term expansion, but through long term accumulation in engineering experience, manufacturing investment, and supply chain coordination systems.

Today, approximately 30 percent of the company’s technical and production staff have remained with Smooth Motor since its early years. The stability of the long standing core team has allowed process knowledge, machining expertise, and engineering collaboration capability to continue accumulating over time. In high precision automation industries, continuity in engineering experience often directly affects validation efficiency, manufacturing consistency, and long term operational reliability.

At the same time, Smooth Motor reinvests approximately 20 percent of its annual profits into research and development, manufacturing upgrades, and production optimization. The company has gradually established a flexible manufacturing system capable of supporting small batch production, multiple specifications, and customized development requirements. This helps customers shorten development and validation cycles while improving cost predictability and supply stability.

Smooth Motor’s precision motion solutions support applications across robotics, semiconductor manufacturing, and intelligent automation industries, helping OEM manufacturers improve system integration, validation efficiency, and long term operational reliability.
Smooth Motor’s precision motion solutions support applications across robotics, semiconductor manufacturing, and intelligent automation industries, helping OEM manufacturers improve system integration, validation efficiency, and long term operational reliability.

As robotics and intelligent manufacturing industries continue expanding rapidly, OEM expectations toward motor suppliers are also changing. Rather than maintaining conventional component purchasing relationships, more manufacturers are seeking motor suppliers capable of participating in collaborative development, adjusting solutions quickly, and supporting long term project coordination.

Backed by years of technical accumulation, Smooth Motor has gradually developed integrated motion control capabilities covering motors, drive control systems, and motion modules. The company continues participating in projects related to robotic actuation systems, semiconductor equipment, laboratory automation, and miniature drive technologies. At the same time, Smooth Motor continues strengthening cooperation with international customers and supply chain partners to improve product consistency and global delivery capability.

“Customers today are no longer simply looking for motor suppliers. They are looking for long term partners capable of participating in engineering collaboration and continuously supporting product evolution,” said Leon C, CMO of Smooth Motor. “Rapid engineering response is ultimately the result of long term accumulation across motor manufacturing experience, engineering systems, and supply chain capability.”

As global manufacturing continues advancing toward intelligent production, higher precision, and deeper system integration, motion control systems are becoming increasingly important across robotics, medical equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced automation industries. For motion control manufacturers, long term competitiveness is no longer defined only by products themselves, but by the ability to sustain rapid collaboration, stable manufacturing capability, and long term engineering support.

Disney Garden of Wonder blooms to life again at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay with all-new character topiaries

The second edition of the popular topiary showcase introduces an interactive area starring Disney’s Frozen, and more beloved Disney and Pixar character dioramas including Toy Story 5 and Disney Princess

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 June 2026 – Disney magic blooms anew at Singapore’s premier horticultural destination Gardens by the Bay as the second edition of Disney Garden of Wonder, opens today. Featuring 23 vibrant topiaries inspired by beloved Disney and Pixar characters, the enchanting showcase transforms Floral Fantasy into a world of floral artistry and imagination through 14 March 2027.

Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast

Organised in collaboration with Disney and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Garden of Wonder is inspired by Disney and Pixar stories that have charmed generations of fans around the world, inviting people of all ages to re-discover their favourite stories of courage, kindness, friendship and love through the beauty of plants. Following the success of its debut at Gardens by the Bay in 2024, the enthralling floral showcase returns in an even more special second edition.

Anna and Olaf from Frozen
Anna and Olaf from Frozen

Visitors can look forward to five themed areas:

  • Frozen, in which topiary versions of Anna, Elsa and Olaf preside over an enchanting snowy landscape, brought to life through themed lighting that imagines a frost-kissed world of wonder. Inspired by Elsa’s Ice Palace, visitors can step on a floor where magical snowflakes dance and respond to movement.
  • Disney princesses, where Rapunzel appears alongside her best friend Pascal the chameleon; Belle is with the Beast and their enchanted companions; and Jasmine is accompanied by her loyal tiger Rajah.
  • Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger gather in a cheerful party scene. Tigger bounces up and down while Piglet twirls, and visitors can picture themselves joining everyone at the table!
  • Toy Story 5, where Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear appear as topiaries in a playful setting inspired by Bonnie’s Room, alongside displays of new characters Lilypad and Smarty Pants.
  • Go Local, a Singaporean-themed zone where Disney characters are reimagined in familiar local settings. Chip ‘n Dale perch atop a giant ice cream sandwich; Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck share the spicy rice noodle dish laksa; and Mickey Mouse makes the traditional beverage teh tarik with Donald Duck.

Outside Floral Fantasy, a 4m-tall Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey marks the entrance and welcomes visitors to Gardens by the Bay.

The hand-assembled topiaries are crafted from more than 40 species of preserved and dried floral materials, which took more than 16,000 man hours.

Each material was selected for its colour, texture and form, helping to reflect each character’s features. Plenty of flowers are used for the Disney princesses for example, while Rapunzel’s hair is crafted from Stipa, a perennial grass that has fluffy or oat-like flowerheads.

The surrounding landscapes also use plant palettes that reflect the mood of each zone — sunflowers and marigolds reflect the honey-toned meadow setting of Winnie the Pooh, while lilies and roses bring out the romantic and jewel-toned settings of Disney Princess stories. Hydrangeas and dusty miller evoke the icy blues, whites and silvers of Frozen.

Throughout the duration of Garden of Wonder, visitors can enjoy select weekend Meet and Greet sessions with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in outfits inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim. Donald Duck and Daisy Duck will also join the experience on select weekends, dressed for a sunny getaway on our tropical island. Meet and Greet dates are available at www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/disneygardenofwonder.

Visitors can round off their experience with shopping at the gift shop, which carries items launching exclusively at Disney Garden of Wonder.

“Ethereal Flow” — a contemporary, fashion-forward series that includes a large-scale aerial installation – is the highlight in the “Luminosity · Flowing like Water” section series. Inspired by a classic passage from Laozi’s Tao Te Ching— “The highest goodness is like water; water benefits all things without contention, embodying the virtue of humility”—the work reflects the idea that true virtue, like water, nurtures and sustains all without striving. With its dynamic sense of scale and dazzling visual impact, the installation invites audiences to reflect on reality and the nature of humanity.
