Binance Joins the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency

DUBAI, UAE, May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — We are proud to announce that Binance is now a sponsor of the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency (AWIC), the leading global community for women and supportive allies who seek to enhance their knowledge and education in the growing field of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3 while advancing opportunities for women and the role they play in the future of digital finance.

Binance believes that crypto is a fundamental means to increase financial freedom. Our goal is to drive financial inclusion by empowering users to participate in a more open and equitable financial system. We recognize the critical need to ensure that women are equal participants in shaping and building the future of finance.

We are excited to join AWIC, an organization that has made great strides in ensuring that women have a seat at the table as we work to make our shared vision of the future a reality. Groups like AWIC are critical in our industry, as well as many other sectors of technology and finance, as their efforts to promote diversity and inclusion and advance opportunities for women make a real difference in these traditionally male-dominated fields.

Crypto was conceived as a tool to democratize finance and challenge traditional hierarchies. Today, it enables inclusion and offers a potential lifeline for approximately 1.4 billion people — many of whom are women —who remain unbanked, making the greatest impact where basic financial services are still a privilege.

Joining AWIC will help us raise awareness of the importance of making the financial system more inclusive. To contribute to our mutual goals, we will cooperate across both private and public sectors, advancing education, increasing resources, and expanding opportunities for women in our field.

“We are happy to have Binance as a sponsor of the Association and are looking forward to growing our network of members and ambassadors who are globally promoting equal opportunities for women,” said AWIC Founder and CEO Amanda Wick. “Binance has been a valuable ally for inclusion efforts and making the future of digital finance more equitable. Outside of educational and grassroots initiatives, Binance actively promotes equity in its workforce, achieving a ratio of nearly 40 percent women employees, in addition to an impressive number of women in senior leadership positions. At Binance, women develop, market, and provide support for products and services that help other women participate in the future of finance.”

As a sponsor of AWIC, Binance will actively participate in educational, training, mentoring, and networking events. Going forward, AWIC and Binance will together explore developing and executing larger-scale global efforts to promote gender equality and opportunities for women in the industry. Furthermore, we will continue our efforts to advance the mainstream adoption of crypto, which is an effective way to drive financial inclusion and improve lives for millions of people globally.

Global Bakery Expo Spotlight: Angel Yeast Launches Feravor™ – A Revolutionary Natural Flavor Solution for Clean-Label Baking

SHANGHAI and DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — At Europe’s IBA 2025 and Asia’s China Bakery Exhibition, Angel Yeast (SH600298) captured global attention with its groundbreaking Feravor™ series. This innovative flavored yeast solution, available in Floral-Fruity and Butter variants, empowers bakers to meet clean-label demands with natural, flavor-enhancing technology.

Leveraging proprietary microbial fermentation technology, Angel Yeast’s innovation simultaneously elevates flavor complexity and extends product freshness. More than just an ingredient advancement, this development represents a strategic shift toward sustainable baking practices, establishing new benchmarks for premium baked goods. By enabling bakers to develop differentiated, clean-label offerings, the technology is poised to accelerate the industry’s transition to more natural and value-added production methods.

Angel Yeast showcased its innovative Feravor™ yeast series at the exhibition, featuring two natural flavor-enhancing strains: Feravor™-Rose and Feravor™-Buttery. Bread-making involves mixing, fermenting, proofing, and baking, with yeast naturally breaking down sugars to create both leavening gases and flavor compounds. Angel Yeast’s Feravor™ series—specifically developed for flavored poolish production—enhances this process through patented microbial strains that intensify aroma via natural metabolic pathways, eliminating the need for additives. Compatible with all bread varieties (from European-style to Asian-style), these yeasts integrate seamlessly into existing recipes, synergize with commercial baker’s yeast (including high-sugar variants), and enable bakers to elevate flavor complexity without altering production methods, directly addressing clean-label consumer demands.

“The core technology of these flavor yeasts lies in the strategic screening of target strains from traditional food sources and specialized environments, coupled with precision fermentation optimization. This enables natural aroma amplification in baked goods – achieving what artificial additives once promised, but through purely biological means,” said Dr. Yafang Sun, General Manager of the Yeast and Strain Resource Technology Center at Angel Yeast.

  • Feravor™-Rose: A yeast strain developed by Angel Yeast through years of screening from traditional Chinese fermented foods. Through fermentation metabolism, it imparts natural aromas like rose, fruit, and brandy notes to bread. It boasts strong adaptability, making it applicable to various bread formulas. Moreover, its natural antimicrobial metabolites can extend the product’s shelf life, meeting premium demands for naturally flavored baked goods.
  • Feravor™-Buttery: A yeast strain developed by Angel Yeast through years of screening from plateau dairy products. Through fermentation metabolism, it imparts natural butter aroma and fresh floral notes to bread. Its fast-acting properties suit time-sensitive baking operations, preserving dough softness in 48-hour cold proofs and improving crumb moisture in sugar-free breads.

As demand grows for healthier, natural foods, Angel Yeast’s response is its Feravor™ series – breakthrough microbial technology overcoming traditional yeast’s flavor limitations. The floral-fruity and buttery strains deliver authentic fermentation flavors while maintaining baking efficiency, empowering artisanal bakers with clean-label solutions. In the future, Angel Yeast will continue advancing sustainable baking through natural flavor innovations, redefining industry standards for quality and environmental stewardship.

Keypoint Intelligence Forecasts Steady Growth of Digital Printing Across Packaging Segments

FAIRFIELD, N.J., May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Keypoint Intelligence has released new forecasts analyzing digital printing trends in four key packaging markets: corrugated packaging, flexible packaging, folding cartons, and narrow web labels. The findings show that while digital printing still accounts for a small portion of total production, adoption is expanding as packaging needs evolve.

In corrugated packaging, digital output is expected to increase over the next several years, driven by high-volume single pass presses and growing interest from larger converters. Flexible packaging is seeing gradual progress, especially in regions like Asia-Pacific and Latin America, where press placements are increasing and more converters are experimenting with digital options alongside traditional methods.

The folding carton market is showing renewed interest as a result of improvements in B1 format presses, which better match the needs of high-speed operations. Many converters are monitoring developments in solutions that align with existing finishing processes. Meanwhile, the narrow web labels segment remains the most developed for digital print, with hybrid presses gaining ground as converters look for flexibility and faster turnaround.

Across all segments, changes in customer expectations, regulations, and production requirements are prompting a shift in how packaging is designed and produced. More companies are looking for ways to respond faster to orders, reduce waste, and handle shorter production runs efficiently—areas where digital printing is especially well suited.

“Digital printing in packaging is no longer just a specialty—it’s becoming a practical choice for more converters,” said Jeff Wettersten, Vice President of Packaging at Keypoint Intelligence. “Each segment is moving forward at its own pace, but the direction is clear. Companies are finding value in the speed, flexibility, and responsiveness that digital can bring to their operations.”

The forecasts include data on press placements, installed base growth, and projected output across global regions. Based on interviews with manufacturers, packaging companies, and industry experts, the reports provide a clear view of where the market is today and where it’s heading over the next few years.

DIGITIMES ASIA: OCP Targets 1MW Racks to Cut Data Center Energy Losses to 7%

TAIPEI, May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) is redesigning data center power architecture to support AI’s growing demands, introducing “1 Megawatt racks” that could slash energy losses from 40% to just 7%, according to Chief Innovation Officer Cliff Grossner.

With AI infrastructure stretching the limits of current systems, OCP’s community of over 400 corporate members is developing open standards to address critical bottlenecks in compute density, power distribution, and cooling.

“The industry is at an inflection point,” said Grossner. “We no longer assume that all processors can be generic. We need to create custom processors for specific workloads.”

Power Revolution

Current power conversion processes waste approximately 40% of energy when converting from high voltage to chip-level voltage—a significant inefficiency as facilities increasingly consume hundreds of megawatts.

OCP’s proposed “1 Megawatt racks” would move power supplies out of server racks into separate units. Eventually, power generation could move entirely outside computing floors, with facilities re-architected to supply 400 or 800 volt DC power.

Future data centers may incorporate on-site renewable energy generation through solar, wind, and potentially small nuclear reactors as part of an ecosystem approach to power management.

Environmental Focus

With data centers projected to consume 3% of global electricity by 2030, sustainability has become a priority. OCP is developing metrics beyond traditional Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) to address water consumption and equipment efficiency.

“A data center is not a standalone object in the future,” Grossner noted. “It’s going to be part of an ecosystem that includes potentially a wind farm next to it, and proximity to buildings that can use the heat produced.”

The organization is also investigating alternative concrete formulations to reduce carbon emissions in construction and collaborating with Infrastructure Masons on standardized carbon accounting for IT equipment.

Cooling Transformation

Increasing computational density is forcing a transition from air to liquid cooling systems.

“The thermal management needs of current and next-generation silicon make it pretty clear that chips will be cooled either by single or two-phase liquid cooling,” Grossner said.

OCP is working to standardize liquid cooling delivery systems, including specifications for connectors, pressures, and fluid properties to ensure interoperability across vendors.

Silicon Innovation

OCP has established a marketplace with over 25 suppliers offering modular semiconductor components, positioning itself as the “front door to the open chiplet economy.” This approach enables specialized silicon components to be combined for optimal performance.

The organization envisions distinct roles in this ecosystem: companies creating chiplets, businesses building ASICs, and firms providing support through design tools and testing services.

Education Initiatives

OCP recently launched the OCP Academy to support adoption of its standards and provides access to hundreds of OCP-recognized products through its marketplace. OCP aims to remain the premier organization for AI infrastructure by standardizing silicon, power, cooling, and interconnects; supporting complete system development; and providing industry education.

As AI continues to redefine computing requirements, OCP’s role in fostering open, sustainable, and scalable infrastructure appears increasingly vital to managing the environmental impact of explosive computational growth.

Global Expansion

With 30% of its membership in Asia-Pacific (primarily Taiwan), OCP will hold its APAC Summit in Taipei on August 5-6, 2025. “Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is a key partner,” Grossner emphasized.
