GLOBAL EDUCATION LEADERS GATHER IN SINGAPORE FOR LANDMARK AI IN EDUCATION SUMMIT

EiM Education Advisory Board convenes inaugural summit at Dulwich College (Singapore) to equip international school leaders with the tools to navigate AI with rigour and confidence

SINGAPORE, April 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Education in Motion (EiM), the global education group whose family of schools includes Dulwich College International and other leading schools in the UK, Switzerland and across China, today announced that its Education Advisory Board (EAB) held its inaugural summit and Board meeting in Singapore on 27-28 April 2026 — fulfilling a commitment made at the Board’s launch in September 2025 and marking a significant moment in EiM’s group-wide strategy on artificial intelligence in education.

The summit, hosted at Dulwich College (Singapore), counts among its participants former presidents of Yale, Oxford, New York University, and Rice University alongside one of the world’s foremost authorities on AI in education, University College London’s Professor Emerita Rose Luckin — a distinguished gathering of academic leadership convening around the question of AI’s role in schools.

Approximately 40 educational experts attended, including school heads from across EiM’s global network, the group’s central education team, and teacher representatives from each school. The summit is the centrepiece of a three-day programme that includes the EAB’s first in-person meeting and EiM’s annual Blue-Sky Conference for Heads of schools.

School leaders worldwide are navigating a landscape increasingly transformed by the possibilities of AI, and EiM’s approach puts students at the heart of every decision and places technology in the service of pedagogy. EiM’s vision for harnessing new technologies is evidence-based, seeking out new tools and technologies that have demonstrated their ability to positively shape educational outcomes for students and prepare them for an, as yet, unwritten future.

Facing the promise that new technologies offer, EiM is holding this summit — designed not to find solutions to the role of AI in education, but to build the capacity of its school leaders to think clearly and act wisely.

Professor Rose Luckin led a half-day workshop that addresses how LLMs work in an educational context and what that means for schools considering their adoption in an environment where educators prioritize putting students first.

“School leaders are being asked to make important decisions about the role of AI within their institutions faced with both incomplete information about their benefits yet high hopes about the promise of these new technologies,” said Professor Luckin. “The goal of this summit is not to tell them what to think, but to give them the tools to think clearly — to distinguish genuine evidence from commercial noise, and to make decisions that will serve their students well not just for this year, but for the decade to come.”

The choice of Singapore as the location for the EAB’s inaugural summit reflects both EiM’s presence through Dulwich College (Singapore) and the city-state’s own standing as a global hub for education and technology.

The spirit of harnessing innovative technologies for improved social and educational outcomes that animates the summit is also the spirit in which Dulwich College (Singapore) embarked on the construction of The Greenhouse – its net-zero energy, seven-storey multi-purpose extension completed in 2023, and host to the EAB summit. The Greenhouse includes a 400-seat multi-purpose auditorium, a STEAM workshop, a professional teaching kitchen, film and media suites, and three blackbox theatres. Notably, The Greenhouse is also the first international school building in Singapore to be certified Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore meaning that the energy it generates from renewable sources equals or exceeds the total energy it consumes annually.

A Board of Extraordinary Distinction

The EiM Education Advisory Board was launched in September 2025 to bring leading experts voices to bear on the future of learning. The Board is co-chaired by:

  • Richard Levin, Frederick William Beinecke Professor of Economics Emeritus at Yale University, Yale President from 1993 to 2013; and subsequently Chief Executive Officer of Coursera; and
  • Lesley Meyer, Chief Education Officer of EiM, with more than 35 years of international school leadership experience.

Additional members include:

  • Professor Rose Luckin, Professor Emerita, University College London — world-leading researcher on artificial intelligence in education and founder of Educate Ventures Research
  • David Leebron, former President of Rice University and former Dean of Columbia Law School
  • Dr Andrew Hamilton, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford and former President of New York University
  • Doris Sohmen-Pao, former trustee of Princeton University and Director of MBA Programmes at INSEAD and NUS

“The question for education is not whether to engage with AI, but how — and that requires the kind of careful, evidence-based thinking that has always distinguished truly outstanding schools,” said Richard Levin. “This summit is an opportunity to model that thinking, and to ensure that EiM’s schools lead rather than simply follow.”

“When we launched the Education Advisory Board, we made a commitment to convene the world’s best thinkers around the questions that matter most for education,” said Lesley Meyer. “Bringing this Board to Singapore for our first summit — focused on AI, the defining challenge of this moment in education — is a statement of our intent to shape this important conversation.”

Seven Extreme Tests, Full-Scenario Ecosystem: Sungrow Redefines C&I ESS Reliability at GRES

As an industry breakthrough, PowerKeeper is the first modular C&I ESS to successfully pass seven extreme challenge tests. This milestone embodies Sungrow’s “007” value proposition—redefining reliability standards for C&I energy storage.

Seven Extreme Challenges: Making Safety Invisible, Yet Fundamental

Energy storage systems are built for a 20+ year lifecycle, during which exposure to extreme weather, physical impacts, and unexpected incidents is inevitable. True reliability lies in proactively validating performance under the harshest conditions.

PowerKeeper inherits Sungrow’s comprehensive full-lifecycle safety system. With over 700 pre‑delivery tests, every unit is engineered for durability and resilience. The seven extreme tests cover the entire lifecycle and a wide range of real-world scenarios, structured across three critical dimensions:

  1. Environmental Resilience: Reliable Performance in Harsh Natural Conditions
    • Maintains stable operation after 24-hour immersion in 50 cm of water
    • Delivers full power without derating across temperatures from -20°C to 40°C
  2. Structural Integrity: No Fire or Explosion, Even When Knocked or Dropped
    • Endures a 250 kg pendulum impact with only minor surface damage, no structural compromise, and no abnormal temperature rise
    • Withstands repeated drops from heights ranging from 1.6 m to 5 m, maintaining structural integrity and thermal stability
  3. Intrinsic Safety: No Fire spread, No Explosion Splash, Even in Worst-Case Scenarios
    • An integrated aerosol fire suppression system rapidly suppresses internal ignition
    • After removing internal suppression, flames self-extinguish without spreading
    • System-level active venting design in PV+ESS configurations prevents debris projection, safeguarding both personnel and equipment

From Pre- to Post-Commissioning: Flexible, Simple, Profitable

  1. Pre-commissioning:
PowerKeeper offers exceptional flexibility from the outset, with configurable capacities ranging from 50 kWh to 1,000 kWh and durations spanning 2 to 8 hours. It can be deployed as ESS-ready, PV+ESS, or PV-ready, enabling businesses to align system configuration with their investment pace and evolving energy strategies.
  2. At commissioning:
Installation is streamlined through both modular hardware design and intelligent digital tools. On the hardware side, the industry-first configuration of 12.5 kWh single modules or 50 kWh pre-built stacks significantly reduces installation complexity and labor costs. In contrast, seamless back-to-back installation supports four flexible layouts, making it ideal for space-constrained environments.
On the software side, iSolarDesign enables rapid and intelligent system planning within just 10 minutes—while iSolarCloud simplifies grid connection to a three-step process that can be completed in five minutes. A unified platform with a 24/7 AI assistant further enhances operational efficiency by pinpointing faulty modules at the source, enabling faster and more precise O&M.
  3. Post-commissioning:
Once operational, PowerKeeper continues to maximize value through both performance and intelligent optimization. A 2.0 DC/AC ratio delivers up to 1.5 times higher power output, while 10 ms seamless switching ensures reliable off-grid operation when needed. In addition, AI-driven multi-revenue strategies—including peak shaving, demand charge management, and frequency response—work in tandem with integrated hardware and software to continuously enhance overall returns.

Full-Scenario Eco-Synergy: Sungrow C&I ESS Family

PowerKeeper, together with the PowerStack 255/510CS and PowerTitan series, forms Sungrow’s comprehensive C&I ESS portfolio. “The Mediterranean represents a slower, more intentional rhythm of travel,” said Victor Sanz, Global Creative Director at TUMI. “For Spring 2026, we embraced that sensibility, the idea of traveling while fully experiencing every moment through the senses. The sounds, smells, tastes, textures, and surroundings come together to create a lasting emotional connection long after the journey ends. We infused that sensorial richness into our most iconic collections, using color to tell a story of movement and discovery. At its core, the collection captures the emotion of escape, balanced by the precision and performance that define every TUMI piece.”

The campaign also debuts the new Mediterranean Print across pieces from Voyageur, Tegra-Lite™, Belden, and Nassau collections. Bold yet refined, the print reinforces the collection’s energy while maintaining TUMI’s focus on precision and performance.

“This campaign represents an evolution in how we tell our story, “said Jill Krizelman, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Ecommerce at TUMI. “The Mediterranean provided the perfect backdrop — celebrating rich color, the romance of travel, and cultural depth — while giving us the opportunity to reveal a more relaxed, playful side of TUMI, as if the brand itself were on vacation. From visual storytelling to immersive brand activations around the world, Mediterranean Escape invites our global community into the spirit of the season and celebrates travel as a form of self-expression.”

Mediterranean Escape will extend beyond the campaign through a series of immersive global experiences celebrating the spirit of the season.

Chula’s Chemistry Metaverse Harnesses Gaming to Transform Science Education

A research team at Chulalongkorn University is transforming chemistry education through an immersive 3D “Chemistry Metaverse,” a platform that blends gaming with scientific training to expand access, improve safety, and better align learning with real-world skills.

BANGKOK, April 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Developed under the Metaverse of Academic Nexus for Global Opportunities (MANGOs), the platform allows students to enter a virtual “digital twin” of the university’s Faculty of Science. Inside, they can conduct experiments, operate advanced instruments, and solve real-world problems through interactive simulations.

Chula’s Chemistry Metaverse Harnesses Gaming to Transform Science Education
Chula’s Chemistry Metaverse Harnesses Gaming to Transform Science Education

The idea originated from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chadin Kulsing, a chemistry researcher and avid gamer, who saw potential in turning the engagement of virtual worlds into meaningful learning. A chance collaboration with Prof. Dr. Lunchakorn Wuttisittikulkij of the Faculty of Engineering helped bring the concept to life, resulting in a cross-disciplinary project combining chemistry, electrical engineering, and 3D game development.

Unlike traditional laboratories, often constrained by cost, equipment shortages, and safety risks, the metaverse provides a risk-free environment where students can experiment freely without real-world consequences, reinforcing safety awareness and scientific reasoning.

The platform is structured around outcome-based education, focusing on practical competencies rather than theoretical knowledge alone. Universities can collaborate with industry partners to design modules that train students in specific skills, such as operating complex instruments or optimizing chemical processes.

Learning is gamified through a tiered system, guiding users from beginner to professional levels via “quests.” Modules range from virtual titration exercises to forensic investigations, where students analyze DNA samples to solve simulated crimes. Advanced tools like gas chromatography—typically inaccessible to many undergraduates—are also available in the virtual environment.

One of the platform’s most innovative features is its integration with scent-release technology, enabling users to experience “virtual smells” linked to digital objects, such as plants in a simulated herb garden. This multi-sensory approach aims to deepen engagement and understanding.  Beyond teaching, the metaverse functions as a virtual research center, offering databases of chemical compounds and natural products that could support industries such as cosmetics and perfumery.

While adoption will depend on institutional policies, the project has already attracted international interest, with partners in Australia, Italy, and Southeast Asia exploring integration. Developers say the long-term goal is a global network of connected virtual campuses.

By merging gaming with science, the Chemistry Metaverse turns any laptop into a lab and reshapes how students learn chemistry.
