– Denifanstat (ASC40), a once-daily oral fatty acid synthase (FASN) inhibitor, demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability in a Phase III open-label study
–Â The exceptional efficacy of denifanstat (ASC40) observed in the Company’s previously reported placebo-controlled Phase III trial coupled with a favorable safety profile in two Phase III trials provide a potential major break-through for the treatment of acne
–Â New Drug Application for denifanstat (ASC40) for acne was recently accepted by the China National Medical Products Administration
HONG KONG, Jan. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Â Ascletis Pharma Inc. (HKEX: 1672, “Ascletis”) today announced positive topline results from the Phase III open-label study (NCT06248008) evaluating denifanstat (ASC40), a first-in-class, once-daily oral small molecule fatty acid synthase (FASN) inhibitor, in patients with moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris.
This recently completed second Phase III study was an open-label, multicenter study in China designed to evaluate the long-term safety of denifanstat (ASC40) in 240 patients with moderate to severe acne vulgaris. All the 240 patients, previously treated with denifanstat (ASC40) or placebo for 12 weeks, received denifanstat (ASC40) once daily for 40 weeks. The primary endpoints included: (1) incidence of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs); (2) incidence of serious adverse events (SAEs); and (3) incidence of discontinuation due to adverse events (AEs). Denifanstat (ASC40) demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile. Most TEAEs were mild (grade 1) and moderate (grade 2). There were no denifanstat (ASC40)-related grade 3 or 4 AEs and no denifanstat (ASC40)-related SAEs. No deaths were reported.
In June 2025, Ascletis announced that denifanstat (ASC40) met all primary, key secondary, and secondary endpoints in the 480-patient randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase III clinical trial (NCT06192264) for the treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris (Press Release).
The mechanisms of action of denifanstat (ASC40) for the treatment of acne are (1) direct inhibition of sebum production, through inhibition of de novo lipogenesis (DNL) in human sebocytes; and (2) inhibition of inflammation, through decreasing cytokine secretion and Th17 differentiation. Denifanstat (ASC40)’s unique mechanism of action directly reduces one of the main underlying causes of acne which is the overproduction of sebum. This sets denifanstat (ASC40) apart as most other acne treatments do not treat the underlying cause of the condition.
Denifanstat (ASC40) is licensed from Sagimet Biosciences Inc. (Nasdaq: SGMT) for exclusive rights in Greater China.

FITUR 2026 main entrance
Â
Attendance during the professional days remained in line with the previous edition at 155,000 visitors, supported by a 12% increase in international attendance, broadly matching the 11% growth in international exhibitors. Weekend public attendance was also consolidated at around 100,000 travellers.
These results consolidate FITUR’s outstanding participation figures, with more than 10,000 companies from 161 countries, including 111 countries with official representation, and 967 main exhibitors. The economic impact of FITUR 2026 on Madrid reached €505 million, while supporting the maintenance of 3,753 jobs, confirming the fair’s position as one of the region’s most significant international events of the year and a key contributor to economic and tourism activity.
FITUR thus opens 2026 by confirming the strong momentum of the global tourism sector. This favourable context is reflected in 2025 figures, a year in which, according to UN Tourism, international tourist arrivals worldwide exceeded 1.5 billion, while Spain welcomed 97 million international tourists, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
The 46th edition opened on Wednesday 21 January with a minute of silence, reflecting the tourism sector’s solidarity with the victims of recent railway accidents. The gesture was echoed during the official opening on Thursday 22 January, when Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain signed the book of condolences at the AndalucÃa stand.
Institutional backing and sector confidence
FITUR 2026’s institutional relevance was underscored by the official inauguration presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, as well as more than 70 institutional visits by regional presidents, ministers and deputy ministers of tourism from around the world, alongside senior tourism authorities. These visits highlighted FITUR’s strategic role as a global forum for dialogue, cooperation and international projection for the tourism sector.
FITUR: a commitment to knowledge and a more future-focused offer
The strong attendance translated into intense activity across the nine exhibition halls, where destinations, companies and institutions from around the world showcased new products, strategies and projects. During the professional days, the Knowledge Hub emerged as one of the fair’s central pillars, featuring eight auditoriums, ten conference programs, more than 200 sessions and over 250 speakers.
In parallel, FITUR’s specialized sections enriched and diversified the fair’s overall offering. FITUR 4all advanced the agenda for accessible and inclusive tourism; FITUR Cruises strengthened the profile of sustainable blue tourism; and the launch of FITUR Experience, together with FITUR Lingua and FITUR LGTB+, energized segments with strong growth potential. Meanwhile, FITUR Screen, Sports, Talent and TechY promoted the intersection of tourism with culture, sport, talent and technology; FITUR Woman highlighted female leadership in tourism; and FITUR Know-How & Export showcased the international expertise of Spanish companies.
With this outcome, and a strong and wide-ranging showcase by Mexico as Partner Country,FITUR 2026 has reaffirmed its global leadership in terms of participation and visitor numbers, its relevance for professionals in generating business opportunities and partnerships, and its contribution to strengthening tourism as an economic and social driver, as well as to the development of a more diverse, competitive and future-focused tourism offer.

LONDON, Jan. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI) has launched a Oxford ELLT Skill Retake option for Oxford ELLT, its English language level test. Uncommon in English language testing, it offers learners a more flexible way to demonstrate English language proficiency, while maintaining the academic integrity trusted by universities worldwide.
The Oxford ELLT Skill Retake allows learners to retake one skill section – Reading, Listening, or Writing & Speaking – instead of resitting the full test when only one component falls short. Leading the way in English language testing, this approach reflects growing global demand from learners for fairer, more targeted assessment options that better reflect real-world language development.
Michael Shaw, Head of Digital Assessment and Product Strategy, said: “Language learning is not linear, and uneven performance across skills is common. Many students demonstrate strong overall ability but underperform in a single area due to test conditions, timing, or confidence. The Oxford ELLT Skill Retake addresses this reality, giving students the opportunity to focus on what matters most to their progression.”
OIDI has built the Oxford ELLT Skill Retake around a core principle: greater flexibility should not come at the expense of academic standards. All retakes continue to be assessed by trained human examiners and verified through its secure systems. Updated certificates clearly show the skill section retaken, revised score and completion date, ensuring transparency for admissions teams and agents.
Accepted by over 250 universities globally, Oxford ELLT supports institutions in accessing a broader pool of qualified applicants without compromising entry criteria or admissions policies. The Oxford ELLT Skill Retake provides institutions with additional flexibility, while preserving confidence in the reliability and comparability of results.
For students, it reduces the need for unnecessary re-testing, provides clearer feedback, and a more focused route to meeting language requirements. For institutions, it supports fairer admissions decisions while maintaining control, consistency, and confidence in outcomes.
Available now, the Oxford ELLT Skill Retake strengthens Oxford ELLT’s position as a student-centred, academically grounded English language test designed for modern international recruitment.
About Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI)
We are part of the Oxford International Education Group. We support students and institutions through online and hybrid academic and language programmes, teacher training qualifications, and the Oxford ELLT, our English language test taken by more than 100,000 students worldwide.
BANGKOK, THAILAND – Media OutReach Newswire – 29 January 2026 – Global management consulting firm Kearney and global executive search firm Egon Zehnder along with an advisory board of Thailand’s most influential women business leaders have launched IGNITE Thailand, a community of professional women. IGNITE Thailand’s vision is to unlock the next generation of professional women leaders.
From left to right: Henny Purnamawati – Partner, Egon Zehnder International , Leona Manoonpong – Coordinating Lead for IGNITE Thailand; Principal, Kearney Thailand, Janewit Kraprayoon – Senior Advisor, Kearney Thailand, Wallaya Chirathivat – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, Central Pattana President & CEO, Maneerut Anulomsombut – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, Sea Group CEO, Pitiporn Phanaphat – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, SCB First Executive Vice President, Chompan Kulnides – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, Minor International Chief Sustainability Officer, Susanne Migchels – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, Osotspa Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer, Gloyta Nathalang – IGNITE Thailand Advisory Board, Bangchak Corporation Senior Executive Vice President, Siddharth Pathak – Partner, Kearney, Varachya Teeraseranee – Consultant, Kearney Thailand
While Thailand has some very successful women business leaders, there is significant potential to expand this representation. To illustrate, only 19 percent of board seats are held by women in Thailand, compared with the European average of 30 to 40 percent. According to Kearney and Egon Zehnder’s study Empowering women: a collection of thoughts from women leaders to advance the workplace, which includes a survey of more than 200 Southeast Asian women, mentorship and coaching are among the most valued forms of professional development. Many say they are looking for mentors to build a strong network outside their corporate organizations. Yet, many women still face barriers to participation, with 27 percent citing challenges in carving out time for leadership development programs and 22 percent pointing to the absence of organizational buy-in.
The launch event, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok, in October last year, brought together the advisory board and over 30 mentors and mentees. This power-packed audience represented the Thailand of today and tomorrow, bringing together women leaders from leading Thai and multinational companies across sectors.
Opening the launch event, Janewit Kraprayoon, senior advisor at Kearney Thailand, led a silent prayer honoring the late Queen Mother, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, whose lifelong dedication to advancing Thai women continues to inspire the nation.
Wallaya Chirathivat, advisory board member at IGNITE Thailand and president and CEO of Central Pattana, shared the vision behind the program: “IGNITE Thailand was created to empower and connect women leaders across industries. More than just a program, it is a platform to unlock the next generation of women leaders. When women advance, society advance.”
The inaugural gathering of IGNITE Thailand also brought together 16 mentors and 22 mentees from Thailand’s leading Thai and multinational companies across industries such as Central Group, CP Group, Siam Commercial Bank, SEA Group, Bangchak Corporation, MBK, Coca-Cola, ThaiBev, Osotspa, Asian Development Bank, FrieslandCampina, King Power, Minor International, Microsoft, Agoda, Betagro, PTT, AIS, and Unilever.
“This program enhances leadership development and supports the advancement of women into C-level positions in Thailand,” said Nualphan Lamsam, advisory board member at IGNITE Thailand and CEO of Muang Thai Insurance. “I am honored to be part of this important women’s empowerment effort.”
Leona Manoonpong, coordinating lead for IGNITE Thailand and principal at Kearney, elaborated on the foundation of the program: “IGNITE Thailand is built on the five pillars of R.A.I.S.E.: Recognize and celebrate achievements. Advocate for positive change. Share Insights on advancing career growth. Support through mentorship and meaningful connections. And Empower for continued career growth through capability building.”
Henny Purnamawati, partner at Egon Zehnder, facilitated the panel discussion with the IGNITE advisory board to draw on their inspiration stories and their reflections on common hindrances faced by women in their professional career journey.
The program’s mentors and mentees embody this spirit of shared growth. Vorawan Phianlikhitwong, chief marketing officer and transformation officer at CP Axtra, reflected on her role as one of the first mentors, noting that mentorship is a reciprocal process. “Mentorship is a two-way exchange: as mentors, we grow as much as the mentees. IGNITE creates a safe space for leaders to share experiences, challenges, and lessons that help shape future leadership journeys.”
Siddharth Pathak, partner at Kearney, closed the session by highlighting Kearney’s commitment to IGNITE Thailand and sharing the plan for 2026.
