FDA approves expanded indication for AVTOZMA® (tocilizumab-anoh) intravenous (IV) formulation in cytokine release syndrome (CRS)

  • Approval of AVTOZMA® (tocilizumab-anoh) intravenous infusion expands label to include treatment of adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older with cytokine release syndrome (CRS) [1]
  • AVTOMZA received FDA approval in January 2025, for multiple inflammatory indications including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), giant cell arteritis (GCA), polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA), systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) and coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in IV formulation [1]

INCHEON, South Korea, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Celltrion, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an expanded indication of the intravenous (IV) formulation of AVTOZMA® (tocilizumab-anoh) to include the treatment of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older. Following FDA approval of the additional indication for CRS, AVTOZMA IV now aligns with all indications approved for ACTEMRA® IV in the United States.[1]

Earlier this year, the FDA approved AVTOZMA as a biosimilar to ACTEMRA in IV formulations for the treatment of multiple diseases including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), giant cell arteritis (GCA), polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA), systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) and coronavirus disease (COVID-19).[1]

CRS is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when the immune system is highly activated, leading to the rapid and excessive release of cytokines into the bloodstream. During a cytokine storm, the overactivated immune system can cause widespread inflammation and damage to healthy tissue and organs throughout the body with symptoms ranging from mild, flu-like symptoms to more severe complications such as low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, and multi-organ failure.[2]

“We are proud that AVTOZMA IV has now achieved full indication alignment with the reference ACTEMRA IV. This milestone marks an important step forward in our mission to deliver a safe and effective therapy for CRS,” said Thomas Nusbickel, Chief Commercial Officer at Celltrion USA. “This FDA approval expands access to high-quality biologics and supports beneficial patient outcomes across multiple therapeutic areas.”

In accordance with the patent settlement agreement with Genentech, the IV formulation of AVTOZMA is expected to be available in the U.S. on August 31, 2025. Celltrion holds a license to market the subcutaneous formulation in the U.S. commencing on the licensed launch date, which remains confidential.

XCENA to Launch MX1 Computational Memory in October; Recognized for Innovation at FMS 2025

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — XCENA™, a South Korea–based startup, unveiled its first product, MX1 computational memory, this week at the Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) event. XCENA is displaying MX1 at FMS (booth #734) and will be offering working samples to select partners starting in October 2025. A production-ready version is planned for 2026.

XCENA Unveils MX1 Computational Memory, Its First Flagship Product, at FMS 2025
XCENA Unveils MX1 Computational Memory, Its First Flagship Product, at FMS 2025

CXL, The Foundation of MX1’s Architecture

MX1 is the world’s first computational memory product supporting PCIe® 6.0 and Compute Express Link® (CXL®) 3.2, the latest version of CXL, an open standard enabling high-speed, low-latency communication between CPUs, memory, and accelerators. MX1 brings compute capabilities closer to the memory layer to overcome the limitations of traditional memory hierarchies. This reduces the overhead of moving large volumes of data between memory and the CPU and allows data to be processed near where it resides — an architectural shift that improves overall system performance and reduces total cost of ownership (TCO) in data centers.

CXL introduces a more dynamic and flexible approach to system design. By supporting memory expansion, cache coherency, and direct memory access, the standard allows more efficient coordination across heterogeneous components. These capabilities form the foundation that MX1 builds on in order to scale data processing and reduce latency in demanding workloads.

Under the Hood: How MX1 Works

MX1 utilizes near-data processing, incorporating thousands of in-house RISC-V cores within the chip to handle computation near memory. This approach minimizes CPU involvement in data movement, accelerating tasks such as vector database operations, data analytics, and memory-intensive queries.

MX1 provides SSD-backed memory expansion, delivering petabyte-scale capacity with minimal latency overhead. It also incorporates advanced reliability features and hardware-assisted compression to maximize usable capacity.

Software Support and Developer Integration

To maximize the benefits of MX1, software support is essential. XCENA provides a fully-integrated software development kit (SDK) comprised of low-level drivers, runtime libraries, and supporting tools to help developers evaluate, prototype, and deploy MX1 with minimal integration effort.

The software stack ensures compatibility with standard system environments and development workflows, enabling seamless adoption across data-intensive applications, from in-memory analytics to AI inference acceleration.

As MX1 enters its proof-of-concept phase, XCENA invites developers, system architects, and partners to explore the new possibilities enabled by computational memory.  Together, the industry is moving one step closer to a more flexible and efficient performance computing paradigm.

XCENA Wins Memory Innovation Award at FMS 2025

This week, XCENA was awarded the “Most Innovative Memory Technology” award at FMS for its breakthrough innovation that addresses the “memory wall” in modern computing systems. The award marks the company’s second consecutive recognition at the event, following its selection as “Most Innovative Startup” in 2024.

“Computational Memory represents an emerging architectural approach that aims to accelerate performance and efficiency, particularly for data-intensive tasks. It does this by minimizing data movement between processing and memory components,” said Jay Kramer, Chair of the Awards Program and President of Network Storage Advisors, Inc. “We are proud to recognize XCENA with MX1, the world’s first computational memory controller supporting CXL 3.X and enabling high-throughput acceleration for data intensive workloads like AI and analytics.”

FMS 2025 is currently taking place in Santa Clara, California, from August 5-7, bringing together global leaders in memory and storage technology. As an exhibitor, XCENA is showcasing MX1 in booth #734 and engaging with prospective partners, customers, and developers.

Bayes Market Secures Strategic Investment to Lead the Prediction Market Revolution

HONG KONG, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Bayes Labs team announces that Bayes Market, the prediction platform launched in July pioneering the next wave of decentralized information infrastructure, has secured $2 million strategic investment from a group of investors. The investors include institutional participation from Singapore’s GreenVision Fund, Jkapital Ltd., and Bearcat, alongside a prominent U.S. public company chairman. This diverse investor group shares a unified conviction: prediction markets represent a transformational shift in how society generates, exchanges, and values information.

These funds will accelerate Bayes Market’s product development, regional expansion, and user growth—particularly across Asia, where social and cultural dynamics align naturally with prediction markets. According to the CEO of GreenVision, “Prediction markets are not just a trend—they are the future of how societies find a shared-reality in complex world. Bayes team has the right vision to scale this movement.”

Mass Adoption Underway

The year 2025 marks a turning point for the prediction market industry. Polymarket’s integration with X and Kalshi’s $2B valuation signal that the industry is moving towards the mainstream. As trust in centralized narratives erode, prediction markets offer a credible, participatory alternative—surfacing diverse viewpoints and aligning incentives for individual expression.

Prediction markets were never by nature solely for crypto-native users. Human beings are inherently driven to predict. Whether guessing the outcome of a reality show or speculating on political developments, people engage in informal forecasting daily. Prediction markets formalize this instinct, offering structure, visibility, and rewards. They are not tools for speculators alone—they are an evolution of how people interact with real-world uncertainty.

Bayes Market distinguishes itself by focusing on intuitive design, culturally relevant markets across Asia and a strong emphasis on user empowerment. These features enable a familiar, social, and gamified experience—they are social signals embedded in daily life.

A New Intelligence Infrastructure for a Decentralized Future

As demand grows for open, transparent, and decentralized systems, prediction markets are poised to become a core infrastructure of the information economy. Bayes Market is not just building a product—it is building a public good: a participatory framework for decentralized intelligence.

In an age defined by uncertainty, Bayes Market innovates prediction markets holding the belief that they are not an anomaly of crypto—they are the natural evolution of how society as a whole engages with the future.

Intrepid Metals Acquires Key Patented Mining Claims Near Ivanhoe Electric at Corral Copper Project in Arizona

Vancouver, British Columbia – Newsfile Corp. – August 6, 2025 – Intrepid Metals Corp. (TSXV: INTR) (OTCQB: IMTCF) (“Intrepid” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement (the “Agreement”) with private owners for highly sought after patented mining claims (the “Viewsite Claims”) immediately south/southwest of the Ringo Copper-Gold Zone at the Corral Copper Property (“Corral” or the “Property”) in Cochise County, Arizona. The Viewsite Claims are located within 2km of the Ivanhoe Electric (“Ivanhoe”) claims, which Ivanhoe acquired following Intrepid’s successful 2024 drill program. Please refer to Intrepid News Release dated January 15, 2025 for further details. The Viewsite Claims cover several prospective targets that are geologically consistent with mineralization previously encountered at the Ringo Zone, where drilling intersected 112.95m of 1.50% copper and 216.50m of 0.71% copper*.

“The Viewsite Claims are strategically located between our high-grade Ringo Zone and the claims acquired by Ivanhoe following our highly successful 2024 drill program at Corral and securing these patented mining claims is a strategic step that strengthens our position in the district,” said Ken Engquist, Chief Executive Officer of Intrepid. “Located immediately adjacent to our Ringo mineral rights, the Viewsite Claims host several compelling targets that we are eager to evaluate through upcoming exploration. An added advantage is that the Viewsite Claims are patented mining claims, which provide full ownership of both surface and mineral rights. This advantage streamlines permitting, increases operational flexibility, and adds long-term value to our portfolio.”

The Viewsite Claims add 348 acres of patented mining claims and increases the Company’s land position to roughly 10,346 acres (4,187 hectares). They have excellent exploration potential, supported by geological, geophysical, and historical data. The Viewsite Claims share key characteristics with the adjoining Ringo Zone, including intensely altered multi-phase porphyry intrusions, porphyry style alteration (quartz-sericite-pyrite), and skarn and carbonate replacement style mineralization. Geophysical surveys reveal magnetic and resistivity features consistent with subsurface mineralization, together representing several priority targets. Historical drilling intersected anomalous copper, gold, and silver in several locations. The presence of reactive Paleozoic limestones, jasperoids, and supportive trace element geochemistry further demonstrate the potential for CRD-style mineralization. Complex structural fabrics, including stacked thrust faults and abrupt geological transitions, enhance the likelihood of mineralization. Zones of high-grade mineralization are present, underscoring the need for additional mapping and drilling. Overall, the Viewsite Claims are highly prospective for porphyry, CRD, and skarn-type systems and warrant continued exploration.

The terms of the Agreement are as follows:

  • Intrepid shall pay the vendor US$100,000 upon closing and the remaining balance of US$375,000 on or before January 31st, 2026.
  • No common shares or other securities are issuable pursuant to the Agreement.
  • The vendor is arm’s length to the Company.
  • No finder’s fees are payable in connection with this transaction.

*For additional technical information on the drill results disclosed in this news release, including data verification and QA/QC procedures, please refer to the Company’s news releases entitled “Intrepid Metals Intersects 216.50m of 0.71% Copper Starting 29m from Surface at Corral Copper in Arizona” dated July 10, 2025 and “Intrepid Metals Drills 20.20% Cu, 8.51 gpt Au and 250.00 gpt Ag (23.85% CuEq1) at its Corral Copper Property in Arizona” dated July 9, 2024 available on SEDAR+ at www.sedarplus.ca and www.intrepidmetals.com.

Mr. Daniel MacNeil, P. Geo, a consultant of the Company, is a Qualified Person (“QP”) as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. MacNeil has reviewed and approved the technical information disclosed in this news release.

About Corral Copper

The Corral Copper Property, located near historical mining areas, is an advanced exploration and development opportunity in Cochise County, Arizona. Corral is located 15 miles east of the famous mining town of Tombstone and 22 miles north of the historic Bisbee mining camp which has produced more than 8 billion pounds of copper1. Production from the Bisbee mining camp, or within the district as disclosed in the next paragraph, is not necessarily indicative of the mineral potential at Corral.

The district has a mining history dating back to the late 1800s, with several small mines extracting copper from the area in the early 1900s, producing several thousand tons. Between 1950 and 2008, various companies explored parts of the district, but the effort was uncoordinated, non-synergistic and focused on discrete land positions and commodities due to the fragmented ownership. There is over 50,000m of historical drilling at Corral mainly centered on the Ringo, Earp and Holliday Zones and although this core has been destroyed, Intrepid has a historical digital drill hole archive database which the Company uses for the purposes of exploration targeting and drill hole planning. Intrepid, through ongoing exploration drilling and surface geological mapping, sampling and prospecting is increasing confidence in the validity of these data.

The Corral Copper Property is currently comprised of the Excelsior Property, the CCCI Properties, the Sara Claim Group and the MAN Property. The Company has completed the acquisition of the Excelsior Property and Sara Claim Group through purchase and sale agreements. The Company has the right to acquire the corporate group that holds the CCCI Properties through an option agreement. The Company has the right to acquire the MAN Property through an option agreement. See the “Commitments” section of the Company’s most recently filed Management Discussion and Analysis for further details.

Intrepid is confident that by combining modern exploration techniques with historical data and with a clear focus on responsible development, the Corral Copper Property can quickly become an advanced exploration stage project and move towards development studies.
